At Heinz Field

2005 Pittsburgh Steelers......18

George Blanda nailed a 54 yard field goal with 14 seconds left to play to give the dramatic win and another upset to the Oakland Raiders. Blanda had 5 field goals on the day and this back and forth defensive battle had it all.

Ben Roethlisberger did throw two crucial interceptions in the loss.

Fourteen points in the fourth quarter and the Steelers show their grit by beating the competitive Redskins.

Re: greatest team ever

At Candlestick Park
1984 SF 49ers...........13
2006 Chicago Bears....16 (OT)

A Robbie Gould field goal of 54 yards in overtime gives the Bears and Lovie Smith a stuning win against the heavily favored 49ers.
The first half was a defensive struggle with Lance Briggs especially good with 13 tackles.

Rex Grossman hit Desmond Calrk for a 53 yard touchdown while Joe Montana found Roger Craig for a score and the game was tied late. Ray Wershing had a chance but missed a 57 yard kick as time expired.
The Bears won the toss and Devin Hester set his team up just within Robbie Gould range and the great Chicago special teams proved the diffrence.

Re: greatest team ever

At TransWorld Dome
1999 St. Louis Rams........27
1988 Cincinnati Benglas...20

Kurt Warner threw for two touchdowns and 227 yards as the Greatest Show on turf is too much for Sam Wyche and the Bengals.
Warner hit Marshall Faulk of an 14 yard score and later hooked up with Torry holt for a 9 yard score.

The Bengals stayed in the game but couldnt get the crucial stops in the 4th quarter and the mighty Rams move on.

Re: greatest team ever

At Gillette Stadium
2004 New England Patriots.........27
1995 Pittsburgh Steelers............13

Corey Dillon scores three touchdowns and runs for 133 yards as the Patriots handle the vaunted Steeler defense with ease.

Tedy Bruschi led his team in tackles and also added a sack and an interception as the Belicheck scheme fooled the Steelers into mistakes; despite 113 yards from Bam Morris.

Tom Brady only threw 18 passes in the conditions yet the Patriots were comfortable for 60 minutes.

At the Orange Bowl
2007 NY Giants.............12
1972 Miami Dolphins.......42

The Dolphins score 31 points in the second quarter including a 56 yard touchdown return from Nick Buenoconti.

Eli Manning threw three interceptions and couldnt get away from the No Name defense that looked as poised and ready as ever.

Mercury Morris also had two touchdowns and Larry Cszonka ran for 128 yards.

A convincing win for Miami who of course remain perfect.
