This is really good so far. And I was thinking that it couldn't get much better than your previous two. Keep it up.

Titans Throttle Steelers, Improve to 4-3
A week after a disappointing outing against the New Orleans Saints, the Titans team came out firing on all cylinders. The Titans scored thirty-four in the first half alone en route to a fifty-one point outing that including the team scoring on all sides of the ball, offense, defense, and special teams. Running back Chris Johnson eclipse 200 yards for the second time this season and has an incredible 1180 yards in just seven games thus far.

Unfortunately, the win came with a price as tight end Bo Scaife left the game in the third quarter with what appeared to be a leg injury (and later would be determined to be a dislocated hip) and did not return. His return this season is unknown, but many doubt he'll be back during the regular season.

The Titans improve to 4-3 on the season and find themselves traveling to Jacksonville to take on a disappointing Jaguars team who have lost five straight after winning their season opener.

Titans Scaife, Calls out James Harrison

Bo Scaife was taken out of last week's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers with a hip injury. Now, three days after the game, Scaife has some not so kind words for the player that took him out of the game. "James Harrison is a dirty *** mother******, he don't deserve to still play in this league," said Scaife in a phone interview with ESPN.com's Paul Kuharsky. "He's done it before and they didn't do nothing. Now he's hittin' me. Sorry we kick yo' *** Jamie boy, maybe y'all should step up your game."

Upon further review of the tape, it was very evident that Harrison hit Scaife blindsided away from the ball in a play that essentially neither player was a factor in. Scaife has a dislocated hip and is expected to miss the rest of the regular season. "I hope we meet in the post-season," Scaife later went onto say, "I'll show him who's boss."

That's awesome. Maybe you could have Cortland Finnegan have a go at Andre Johnson again. Keep it up.

Titans Dominate Fourth Quarter For Fifth Win of 2011
Down 20-3 with just over ten minutes left in the game, the Titans were down but not out. In a driving rain storm, nothing was working for their offense that saw Stephen Tulloch and Colin Allred both leave with injuries, and their offense sputter without sustaining any kind of substantial drive. It was at that ten minute point that offensive coordinator Brian Daboll elected to do something no one expected. He told rookie Cam Newton, who had already committed two turnovers (both in the red zone), to do what he does best. Take over games. Newton was electric in back to back drives, putting passes directly on the mark one right after another. If the pass wasn't there, Newton would take off and run. He would throw two touchdowns, both to rookie Julio Jones, and the Titans were back in business with just over five minutes left in the game.

The defense, which was stout all game, stepped up as well. Maurice Jones-Drew was shut off in the fourth quarter and with David Garrard not playing due to injury, Charlie Whitehurst wasn't exactly electric. With just over two minutes left, the Titans had the chance to tie or even win the game. They found themselves in field goal range with just a minute and a half left. "I was more than happy with sending the game into overtime," said head coach Mike Mularkey after the game, "I felt we could beat them if we got there and with the rain, I didn't want to take any chances." That said, with just under a minute remaining, Mularkey elected to run the ball from the seventeen yard-line, lucky for the Titans, Johnson found a gap and took off. He made a guy miss and trotted into the end zone, with the extra point, the Titans were up by four. Whitehurst and company couldn't get anything done and the Titans came away with their fifth win of the season.

The Titans are riding a mere two game win streak as they come back home to take on division rival and current AFC South leader, the 5-2 Indianapolis Colts. The Colts will be without Dallas Clark and offensive guard Mike Pollak due to injury. The Titans are still without Kenny Britt who may be back after the bye week in week ten, and Bo Scaife with his dislocated hip.

Finnegan Picks Manning Off Twice, Titans Take AFC South Lead
With eight minutes left in the second quarter, Chris Johnson had a fifty-six yard touchdown run giving the Titans a ten point lead and they never looked back. That said, they most certainly were sweating as they faced Peyton Manning and the AFC South leading Colts offense. The Colts brought the score within three halfway through the third quarter when Manning saw Reggie Wayne burn Cortland Finnegan on a deep route and hit him for a fifty-seven yard touchdown. Seven minutes later, Manning looked Wayne's direction again. Finnegan had other thoughts in mind. He stepped in front of Manning's pass, made an acrobatic catch and took it thirty-five yards the other way to give the Titans a ten point advantage once again. Manning wasn't done as it took him just two minutes and twenty seconds to drive the length of the field and hit Wayne for the touchdown and a three point game once again. Chris Johnson wasn't done either as he and Cam Newton marched down the field taking as much time as possible and with just 1:51 left, Johnson had his second rushing touchdown of the game.

Manning wouldn't quit, driving down the field and looking for Wayne in the back of the end zone on second and goal. Finnegan, not to be burned again, got his second interception of the quarter and sealed the deal, giving the Titans their third straight victory after falling to 3-3.

Oddly enough, the Titans have a bye week in week ten before traveling to Indianapolis to take on the Colts once again. A week after that, they have another Monday Night thriller against the Kevin Kolb led Cincinnati Bengals team who sit 5-4 on the season.

Re: Music City Miracle | A Titans Franchise

Midseason Review

With nine weeks complete in the 2011 NFL Season, it seems like it's time for a quick review on the season thus far with seven 'quick hits' on the season thus far.

1. Best Team | New England Patriots 7-1
There's three teams that sit at 7-1 thus far on the season and two of them are in the same division. Both the Packers and Bears are 7-1, but the Patriots have scored 231 points in 8 games, second most in the league behind the Tennessee Titans. Their 124 points against is fourth best in the league as well. Their only blemish came in week five when the 2-6 Miami Dolphins topped them 23-19 on a last minute touchdown to Brandon Marshall. They will be tested soon however when they travel to Chicago to take on the Bears in week eleven.

2. Biggest Surprise | Buffalo Bills 5-3
The Bills may have come back down to earth by losing three straight after starting off undefeated. No one expected the Ryan Fitzpatrick led Bills would have this kind of early success, but they're on pace to have a playoff birth, and that's a hell of a shock. Good luck to them in the second half of 2011.

3. Biggest Disappointment | Dallas Cowboys 2-6

They weren't that stellar in 2011, but after a lackluster draft, they've yet to do anything substantial this season either. They've lost two straight and find themselves with very little chance of making the playoffs for a second straight season.

4. Most Valuable Player | HB Chris Johnson - Tennessee Titans
He's toppled 1400 yards in just nine games. He's got thirteen rushing touchdowns, a ridiculous 7.6 yards per rush average, and he's also caught forty-six passes for just over 500 yards there too. Not only is he on pace to beat Dickerson's record, he's on pace to shatter it. The only downfall, the Titans have had an up and down season that has them at just 6-3 right now.

5. Defensive Player of the Year | LB Shaun Phillips - San Diego Chargers
65 Tackles, 8 Sacks, 2 Interceptions, 1 Forced Fumble. Phillips has been a force for a 5-4 Chargers team that finds themselves struggling to stay alive in the playoffs.

6. Rookie of the Year | QB Cam Newton - Tennessee Titans
Okay, this is debatable, he's struggled in some games while looking impressive in others. Panthers Patrick Peterson has been impressive with four interceptions and forty tackles thus far. But Newton is on pace to throw for nearly 4000 yards [2020 in 9 games] and around twenty-five touchdowns to fifteen interceptions. If he can stop his fumbling, he's had three this season so far, he'll be a hell of a player for years to come.

7. Injuries | Twenty-Four Players on Injured Reserve
The Redskins have lost Donovan McNabb with a fractured elbow, Jaguars David Garrard with a torn tricep, and Matt Cassel is on the Chiefs IR with a PCL tear. Saints defensive end Will Smith hasn't even taken a snap this season after breaking his jaw in the third preseason game. The Raiders have lost both Tommy Kelly [Complete ACL Tear] and Richard Seymour [Torn Pectoral Muscle] for the season as well. The Cowboys defensive woes could be determined by linebacker Keith Brooking being placed on the IR with an ACL tear.

Giants Eli Manning left the game against Seattle in week seven with a toe injury. His return this season is listed as questionable, but could be ready for the playoffs should the Giants make it that far. The Vikings had been set on Red Grossman as their future quarterback, but after leaving the game in week eight with a quad injury, he hasn't returned. He may return for the season finale if lucky.

Twenty-One Unanswered Points Nets Titans Fourth Straight Win
These two teams faced off just two weeks ago as the Titans edged the Colts. This time around, the score was close as well until the Titans got hot late in the third quarter as they dominated the rest of the game. Down 24-21 with six minutes left in the quarter, the Titans marched down the field capping the drive off with a one yard Chris Johnson touchdown run. Three minutes later, they were in the end zone again, this time a pass from Cam Newton to the fresh back from injury, Kenny Britt. Britt would score again in the fourth quarter to seal the game for the Titans and give them their fourth straight victory.

Britt, in his first game back from injury, had an impressive nine receptions for 128 yards and two touchdowns. His quarterback, Cam Newton, had a solid game with four touchdowns [the other two to Nate Washington] to just one interception and 228 yards passing. Chris Johnson had another incredible game with 168 yards rushing. Peyton Manning threw for 300 yards and three touchdowns in the loss.

Now 7-3 on the season, the Titans appear to control their own destiny. They get an extra day off as they prepare to face the 6-4 Cincinnati Bengals. Since their bye week in week seven, the Bengals have gone 3-1 with their only blemish a 30-6 loss against the Colts.
