Monday Night Meltdown
Coming home from an impressive win against the Colts and winning four straight, the Titans were comfortable the worst was behind them. Plus, The Bengals were without Kevin Kolb, who was still sidelined with a shoulder injury. What possibly could go wrong for the Titans?

Chris Johnson was held to just fifty-one yards rushing and a rookie quarterback threw the football forty-six times. That didn't help much. Bengals backup Dan Lefevour didn't play bad throwing for 175 yards on eleven-of-nineteen passing with a single touchdown, a seventy-three yard strike to Jordan Simpson that gave the Bengals a 7-3 lead in the first quarter. The Titans ran with Cincinnati for almost three full quarters until back to back fumbles by rookie Cam Newton led to fourteen Bengals points, giving them the advantage they needed to take their seventh win of the season.

Now 7-4, the Titans host the 5-6 Carolina Panthers who have lost two straight since their bye week.

Orton Benched as Panthers Commit Seven Turnovers
Steve Smith was held to just five receptions in the week thirteen matchup of the Titans and Panthers. Unfortunately for the Titans, those five receptions went for 216 yards and a score. Unfortunately for the Panthers, that was one of the only bright spots for their game. Kyle Orton was benched at halftime after throwing four interceptions fumbling once. Down by ten at halftime, backup Jimmy Clausen appeared to give Carolina hope as he drove down the field on their first drive of the second half and got three points, cutting the lead to just seven. The Titans even began to slip at times, turning the ball over on consecutive possessions, but Carolina couldn't capitalize. As the fourth quarter began, Clausen was driving his team into range to potentially take the lead for the first time since being up 7-3 in the first quarter. Unfortunately, and interception in the end zone by Michael Griffin ended that. Two plays later, Chris Johnson ripped a seventy-three yard touchdown run that sealed the fate of the sliding Panthers.

Now 8-4 on the season with four games left, the Titans face their toughest task of the season. Containing the 10-2 New England Patriots, at Gillette Stadium. A week later they'll stay on the road against an always tough 9-3 Baltimore Ravens team. They'll close the season with back to back divisional games against the Jaguars and Texans who are both 4-8 on the season. The Titans still have a one game lead on the Colts who lost to the 5-7 Cleveland Browns last week, 22-19.

Lapse in Judgement, Pats Dominate Fourth Quarter
The Titans were up 25-13 heading into the final period and ended up being out scored 16-3 in the fourth quarter as the Patriots continued their dominance this season. Cam Newton struggled again while Chris Johnson was held under 100 yards for the second straight week. Tom Brady threw for 419 yards and two touchdowns as the Pats won their eleventh game of the season.

The Colts also lost in week fourteen, giving the Titans hope to save their season and sneak through with a division title. They'll face the 10-3 Baltimore Ravens next Sunday while the Colts will face the 5-8 Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Fifty-One Combined Second Half Points Ends in Titans Loss
The score was a mere 7-3 at halftime, a defensive show-off. The second half was completely different. The teams combined for six touchdowns and three field goals en route to an incredible game that had Joe Flacco lead his team to three scores in the final three minutes to rout the Titans 36-25. Down ten with 2:41 left, Flacco threw a fifteen yard strike to rookie Greg Salas and it was a three point game. The Titans offense stalled and kicked the ball away. Seconds later, Flacco found Salas again, this time from fifty-seven yards out and the Ravens had the lead. Then, after four straight incompletions, Willis McGahee took a draw play thirty yards to the end zone, sealing the fate of the Titans.

Lucky for the Titans however, the Colts lost as well. A win this week on Monday Night Football against the Jaguars will lock the Titans into the playoffs and clinch the division title for them. The Colts will be playing the 5-9 Texans in week sixteen.

Re: Music City Miracle | A Titans Franchise

So, I lost my last two write ups to close the regular season, so I'm just going to skip over them, many because I lost them both. Here's a quick overview of them.

vs Jaguars 24-17 Loss | Charlie Whitehurst tosses a gorgeous 76-yard pass to Mike Thomas with about seven minutes left in the game to break a 17-17 tie. I couldn't sustain a drive.

vs Texans 30-27 Loss | I dominated the first part of the game. Two TDs to Britt, CJ with over 100 yards in the first half, everything looked great, but I started to slip up. Andre Johnson brought in two scores, they got me for a safety and then with a few seconds left, they hit a field goal to seal the game.

I missed the playoffs too, the Colts won and knocked me out with my 8-8 record. Disappointing four game losing streak to close, but it'll be a new season. End of the season stuff will be ahead.

Johnson Snubbed for MVP Honors
The guy set a record for most yards in a game with 344 earlier this season. He had a career high eighteen rushing touchdowns, another three receiving with over 760 yards receiving. Oh yeah, and crushed Eric Dickerson's single season rushing record by more than a hundred. Offensive MVP Chris Johnson got everything but the nod for MVP. With the Titans finishing 8-8 on the season and missing the playoffs, Johnson, the first ever two-time 2000 yard rusher, was snubbed the honors. Those went to the league best team's quarterback, Patriots Tom Brady. Brady threw for 4786 yards, thirty-six touchdowns and fourteen interceptions, en route to his MVP Award.

The Titans weren't completely snubbed as Auburn product Cam Newton walked away with rookie of the year honors. Newton threw for 3723 yards, thirty touchdowns, and eighteen interceptions to help the Titans to a 8-8 record.
