Retro Houston Texans 2007 season onwards

I will be using Madden 08 PC for this again like the Denver Broncos, but this time I will be using Texans and will at least make it until the end of the 2011 season, so at least five good years.

Re: Retro Houston Texans 2007 season onwards

Texans open the season with a big win over the Chiefs

07 - 00 - 00 - 00 - 07

06 - 00 - 06 - 10 - 22

THE GOOD THE BAD AND THE UGLY: The Kansas City Chiefs gave away six turnovers compared to Houston's 2, all 7 turnovers came from interceptions, where Damon Huard led with a measly 5. The Chiefs also threw 2 straight interceptions in deep Texans territory before missing a field goal on their third try, they could of at least recorded 17 more points if they had not made those costly interceptions.

DRIVE OF THE GAME: With the Chiefs first posession, they moved the ball at will, on their first play of the game Huard connected with Dunn on a 24 yard pass before throwing a 29 yard gain to Dwayne Bowe, then 2 plays later Huard found the rookie Bowe in the endzone for a 13 yard touchdown reception.

TOP PERFORMER: Dunta Robinson, Cornerback for the Houston Texans. Robinson was nothing short of spectacular today, he shut down wide receiver Eddie Kennison who recorded just 2 receptions for 24 yards, one of the receptions came when Robinson was defending against Rod Garder, so in reality he was held to just one catch when faced up against Robinson.

THE PLAY THAT SEALED IT: Up 15-7 with just 8:18 left in the fourth quarter, Matt Schaub aired it out to Andre Johnson who recorded the 49 yard reception in the endzone for a touchdown to give the Texans a well deserved 22-7 victory.

Texans run away after domination fourth quarter

00 - 14 - 00 - 14 - 28

10 - 03 - 00 - 00 - 13

THE GOOD THE BAD AND THE UGLY: Former Texans no. 1 overall draft pick, David Carr, started out nicely going 9 of 12 for a touchdown, but his performence spiraled after that, he finished the game 19 of 41 for 202 yards, was sacked five times, threw just one touchdown and 2 interceptions for a 49.0 point rating.

DRIVE OF THE GAME: There wasn't really a drive of the game, but after Mario Williams intercepted David Carr, Matt Schaub on the next throw completed a 17 yard touchdown throw to Ahman Green.

TOP PERFORMER: This could go to either Ahman Green who rushed for 115 yards on 13 carries, including a 55 yard touchdown run, but it goes to quarterback Matt Schaub who completed 17 of 32 for 176 yards and 3 touchdowns for a 100.5 passer rating. Linebacker DeMeco Ryans also played strong, collecting 13 tackles and 2 sacks.

THE PLAY THAT SEALED IT: With just 1:04 left in the game and up 21-13, Matt Schaub tossed a 2 yard touchdown pass to Andre Johnson to give the Texans a 28-13 lead.

Stats:
Passing:
David Carr: 19-41, 202 yards, 1 td, 2 int, 49.0 rat

Re: Retro Houston Texans 2007 season onwards

Texans rallies back to beat Colts for the 2nd time in franchise history

07 - 13 - 00 - 00 - 20

00 - 06 - 14 - 03 - 23

THE GOOD THE BAD AND THE UGLY: Peyton Manning was shredding the Texans defense in the first half, throwing for 290 yards, but in the second half he threw for just 28 more yards. The Texans defense has shut out all three opponents so far in the second half this season, the Texans have outscored their first three opponents 47-0 in the second half, and are scoring an average 15.6 points during that span, whilst in the first half they average just 8.3

DRIVE OF THE GAME: The Colts' first possession was very fluid, on the second play Manning connected on a 42 yard pass to Marvin Harrison, after that another 16 yard gain to the same receiver before a 10 yard pass to Wayne which led to a 38 yard field goal by Adam Vinatieri.

TOP PERFORMER: Nobody thought Jamar Fletcher would be a pain for the Colts, he was just that as he recorded two interceptions. One the first, the Colts were driving to take a 27-13 lead, but Manning got injured and Jim Sorgi came in for relief but was picked off by Fletcher in Texans territory, the final interception came with four minutes left in the game when Manning attempted to air one out to Marvin Harrison, but Fletcher jumped the route and ran it back to a field goal position as the Texans took a 23-20 lead with under 3 minutes left.

THE PLAY THAT SEALED IT: With 1:45 left in the game, and on third down, Andre Davis made a fantastic grab inside the Colts' five yard line to give them a fresh set of downs, and a great poster shot of the athletic catch.

Stats:
Passing:
Matt Schaub: 35-55, 386 yards, 1 td, 90.4 rat
Peyton Manning: 17-30, 318 yards, 2 td, 1 int, 101.8 rat

Rushing:
Ahman Green: 17 att, 40 yards, 1 td
Joseph Addai: 9 att, 36 yards

Receiving:
Andre Davis: 14 rec, 145 yards
Marvin Harrison: 6 rec, 105 yards

Defense:
DeMeco Ryans: 5 tak
Kelvin Hayden: 11 tak

Total Offense:
Houston Texans: 422 yards
Indianapolis Colts: 357 yards

Re: Retro Houston Texans 2007 season onwards

Vick sacked six times as Texans roll on to big 39-10 win

03 - 10 - 20 - 06 - 39

00 - 03 - 07 - 00 - 10

THE GOOD THE BAD AND THE UGLY: It was clear that Michael Vick wasn't going to have his best game early on, finishing the game with a 17.9 passer rating was evidence that the Texans defense clustered him, he was sacked six times, completed just 14 of 38 passes, threw for just 164 yards and also threw 3 interceptions, one was returned for a touchdown.

DRIVE OF THE GAME: Early in the third quarter, the Texans went on a 9 play 71 yard drive, on the first play, Schaub connected with Andre Johnson for a 27 yard gain, he connected 3 plays later to Johnson for a 17 yard gain before throwing a 3 yard touchdown pass to Johnson five plays later, giving the Texans a 20-3 lead, another drive of the game was 9 straight running plays by Ahmad Green, which resulted in a field goal.

TOP PERFORMER: Defensive End Anthony Weaver picked up 3 sacks on the day, another good performence was put in by Dunta Robinson whi picked up 1 tackle, 5 pass deflections and picked off a pass late in the third and returned it 58 yards for a score.

THE PLAY THAT SEALED IT: With 1:53 left in the third quarter, Dunta Robinson picked off Michael Vick and trotted back to the endzone to give the Falcons a 33-3 lead.

Stats:
Passing:
Michael Vick: 14-38, 164 yards, 3 int, 17.9 rat
Matt Schaub: 18-30, 241 yards, 2 td, 107.7 rat

Rushing:
Michael Vick: 3 att, 31 yards
Ahman Green: 24 att, 80 yards, 1 td

Receiving:
Warrick Dunn: 3 rec, 42 yards
Andre Johnson: 11 rec, 136 yards, 2 td

Defense:
Keith Brooking: 9 tak, 1 Frec, 18 yards, 1 td
DeMarcus Faggins: 7 tak, 2 def

Total Offense:
Atlanta Falcons: 202 yards
Houston Texans: 337 yards
