BREAKING NEWS - PALMER TRADED TO 49ERS

ESPN.com -- The Bengals have honored Carson Palmers request for a trade, trading him to the San Francisco 49ers, a team Palmer grew up watching, for 2nd and 3rd round picks in the 2012 NFL Draft.

Palmer stated earlier this year he would retire if he wasn't traded or released from the Bengals organization. He got his wish today and couldn't be happier.

"I'm going home. I can't help but smile but at the same time I want to thank Mr. Brown, coach Lewis, my teammates, the entire organization and city of Cincinnati. It's been a pleasure, but in order to get the most out of myself and for you all to get on a winning path, I believe it's best for us both to move on."

Ochocinco tweeted later "Thats my teammate. Thats my quarterback " poking fun at friend Terrell Owens, who later replied "Who had the better year last year? Batman or Robin? Thank you."

Palmer is expected to start practicing this week.

BREAKING NEWS - KOLB TRADED TO BENGALS

ESPN.com -- Less than a week after trading QB Carson Palmer to San Francisco, the Bengals have filled that position, trading a first round pick in next years draft for Eagles backup Kevin Kolb and a 4th round pick.

The Bengals now have 2 2nd, 2 3rd and 2 4th round picks to go along with round 5, 6 and 7 picks in the draft, essentially loading up while rebuilding their organization.

BREAKING NEWS - VIKINGS SIGN McNABB

ESPN.com -- The QB news continues around the league as the Vikings have signed former Redkins QB Donovan McNabb to a 2-year deal today.

"Best news I've had in years. No disrespect to the Washington fans, but obviously it wasn't a perfect 'marriage'" McNabb said in a press conference today.

"I plan to get this ship up and running, no pun intended. There is an enormous amount of talent throughout the roster here and I can't wait to get started."

Jason Campbell is expected to backup McNabb.

MALLETT INJURED - OUT FOR 4-6 WEEKS,
POSLUSZNY OUT FOR SEASON

ESPN.com -- Buffalo Bills fans got brought back down to earth.

Rookie QB Ryan Mallett, who they had high hopes for, is out for 4-6 weeks with a fractured toe.

Bills fans also lost arguably their best overall player, MLB Paul Posluszny, for the entire 2011 NFL season.

It's going to be a tough year again for the Bills it seems. To fill the void, however, Buffalo signed MLB Gary Guyton to a 2-year deal and also have QBs Sage Rosenfels, and Seneca Wallace on hand as veteran backups, one of which will start the season.
