Re: Mr. Rodgers Neighbourhood A Packers Franchise

Entering into the 4th year of the franchise, much has changed since the Steelers had won the superbowl in the 2009 season. Following that season in 2010, The Saints shocked the world by becoming the world champions over the New England Patriots in a surprising defensive battle that ended up in a Saints win 13-12.Not only did Drew Brees lead his team to the Superbowl but he earned himself his first MVP season. With 35 TDs and just 12 interceptions with over 4500 passing yards and a 95.9 QB rating to prove for that. Surprisingly Ben Roethlisberger led the league with 36 TDs as well as Kerry Collins as the shocker that year who managed to put together a 33 TD season. Steven Jackson lead the league in Rushing yards with nearly 1400 with Frank Gore not far behind who amassed 13 rushing TDs, which was the highest in 2010. Julius Peppers won defensive MVP in 2010 with 19 total sacks which was a league high. That year the Packers made it to the conference playoffs where the came up short in a shootout against Vick and their high powered offense with the score ending 36-26.

The next season the Packers were much improved finishing 12-4 and making it to the Superbowl where they ultimately lost to the Patriots 16-10 who made it there the season prior. Aaron Rodgers had one of the greatest seasons for a QB ever throwing for over 4700 yards with 50 TD's (tying Tom Bradys single season record) but failed to win MVP that year mainly due to his 26 interceptions he threw. This award was given to his primary receiver instead, Greg Jennings who abolished every receiving record amassing nearly 2300 receiving yards and 33 touchdowns! 10 more touchdowns than the record previously held by Randy Moss and nearly 500 yards more than the previous record! This year the Packers and Saints were involved in a key trade involving Ryan Grant and Reggie Bush who swapped teams. Reggie bush had his best rushing season with 851 yards and 6 touchdowns as well as 400 receiving yards. Deangelo Williams led the league in rushing yards with almost 1900, the nearest back, Adrian Peterson was 300 yards behind. Charles Woodson shattered a record that has held for about 60 years with 16 interceptions in a single season who is just 3 away from being the all-time interception leader.

Finally 2012, Last season had it's ups and downs for the Packers. Starting of 5-3 and Rodgers going down for the season they slipped to 5-5 going from quarterback to quarterback until they picked up QB Robert You in a trade that would give them six straight wins to 11-5 and make it to the conference playoffs where the Eagles once again knocked them out in another high scoring game that ended 36-26. The Eagles went on to defeat the Texans in a highscoring shootout that ended 31-28 with a last minute fieldgoal. Other key players went down early such as Adrian Peterson who ended up missing eight weeks and jeopardizing his consecutive 1000 yard seasons. Toby Gerhart shocked everybody amassing 1546 yards in just 9 games as a starter! He was then traded in the offseason to the Bengals for draft picks. Adrian Peterson came back for the final 2 or 3 games in the season to increase his consecutive 1000 yard seasons to six. Just 5 away from beating the record of 11 held by Emmitt Smith. Drew Brees won his second MVP of his career for his 37 touchdowns, 22 interceptions and near 4700 yards. With Peyton Manning just behind in yards and touchdowns. For the second year straight Deangelo Williams lead the league in rushing yards at 1800 yards and also lead the league in touchdowns at 16.

At the start of the 2013 season the Packers are currently 0-2 after their week 3 bye after losing to the Lions & 49ers. Rodgers has started off to a very shaky start and things are spiraling down fast. While the Younger QB's such as Young, Sanchez, Stafford and Tebow have been thriving so far.
