Re: "Dragon Breath" A UAB Dynasty (NCAA12)
Just got caught up. Epic dominate win over Cal.
To bad we couldn't have seen the 2014 Kansas Jayhawks from my dynasty vs your 2014 Blazers, it would have been EPIC! HAHA Good luck with 2015.

Re: "Dragon Breath" A UAB Dynasty (NCAA12)
THE CAMPUS GAZETTE UAB UNIVERSITY NEWSPAPER Saturday September 19th, 2015 AIR JORDAN WITH HELP FROM THEIR DEFENSE SOPHOMORE KICKER SHANE JORDAN KICKED IN THREE FOURTH QUARTER FIELD GOALS IN A 30-24 WIN OVER MISSISSIPPI STATE: ![]() (SHANE JORDAN WENT 3-3 ON FG'S AND 3-3 ON XP'S) ![]() Starksville, Miss - Freshmen Tailback Lawrence Long was knocked out the game, then Mississippi State tightened up on Dyks and company. But when he got his chances sophomore kicker Shane Jordan made them count, in the tune of three fourth quarter field goals to help the Blazers (4-0, 2-0) inch past the Bulldogs (1-2, 0-2) 30-24 heading into their bye week. "Thats my job." Jordan said after the game. "When they call on me I'm expected to make it." Jordan was top five in the nation last season in field goal percentage. He also booted six touch backs in today's game. The Blazers, who started so fast this season in the passing game has not been as dominate as of late. Quarterback Adam Dyks was just 7-16 passing and threw one interception. He did throw two touchdown passes to Matt Ford and Travis Jackson. Ellis Fox led the run game with 87 yards on 14 carries including a 23 yard run setting up the go ahead field goal putting UAB up 27-24. Coming off a bad game to Auburn last week quarterback Sean Anderson made up this week throwing 17-24 after just 8-20 last week, but three interceptions including two in the second half stalled the Bulldogs from pulling away. Not much noise yards wise in the run game Bryant and Brown still found the end zone for the bulldogs. Johnson led the receivers with 3-receptions for 52 yards and a score. It was Johnson who started the game off on a high note Mississippi State. Facing a 3rd and 12, he got passed Harvey Nelson on a 24 yard touchdown reception. Dyks and UAB would answer back, looking like it would be a great day Dyks would go 3 for five on the opening drive ending in a Travis Jackson 10-yard touchdown catch tying the game at 7-all. The teams would go back and forth during a hard hitting second quarter. Both quarterbacks exchanged exchanged interceptions in the period but in similar fashion saw both back-up running backs find pay dirt to go into the half tied at 14. ![]() ![]() (A HARD HITTING AND PHYSICAL SECOND QUARTER HAD BOTH TEAMS TIED AT HALFTIME 14-14) The second half started like the second quarter, as the teams put great pressure on both quarterbacks. UAB struggled a bit as Dyks missed some easy passes to receivers, while Anderson for Mississippi State was taking on big time hits from their option attack. After a 48 yard field goal that put Miss. State up 17-14 Adam Dyks finally hit his go to guy Matt Ford who just out ran the coverage on a perfect 61-yard touchdown putting UAB up 21-17. Ford has now scored in all four of UAB's games this season. A interception to start the fourth quarter saw Shane Jordan pout UAB up 24-17. ![]() (MATT FORD CONTINUED HIS TOUCHDOWN STREAK WITH THIS 61-YARD SCORING PUTTING UAB UP 24-17) Mississippi State stormed back using its spread option attack. "They were putting great pressure right up the middle on us." Quarterback Sean Anderson said. "So we decided to stop the read and run the regular option." That change saw the Bulldogs get to the edge several times on the drive eventually ending in a Jimmy Bryant 8-yard touchdown run tying the score at 24. No real passing game to this point despite that 61 yard scoring toss, Dyks was 6-15, UAB tried to soften up the Mississippi State defense. As the defense krept back closer to the line facing a 3rd and four Dyks would use a great play fake hitting Bill Cooley for a 56 yard gain, it was the second time the two hooked up for a 50+yard passing play on the day. Facing a 3rd and 25 after the big pass play, a draw saw Ellis Fox get UAB back in field goal range gaining 23 yards. A Shane Jordan 44 yard field goal would end the drive putting UAB back up 27-24. ![]() ![]() (BILL COOLEY MADE A BIG TIME 56-YARD CATCH ON 3RD DOWN, ELLIS FOX WOULD ALSO HELP GET UAB IN FG RANGE) The Blazers defense would do what they've done all season and thats step up in the crucial moments in the fourth quarter. Defensive end Scott Gaither, who had a great game against the option attack would grab a big time sack, then A interception on second down by Adam Love, which was his 16th tying the school career record got the Blazers the ball in position to run out the clock. Ellis Fox would help grind the time down and Shane Jordan with 22- seconds remaining would kick in a 31-yard field goal. With no timeouts Mississippi State was forced to throw which resulted in Free Safety Josh Brown ending the game with a interception. ![]() ![]() (THE DEFENSE USED TIMELY PLAYS ONCE AGAIN THIS WEEK TO HELP SECURE THE WIN) The Blazers welcome a well needed bye week before traveling to Auburn Hills to face the Tigers. BOX SCORE:

![]() Thurs Sept 24th, 2015 Blazers Welcome Two-Day Hiatus Following Wednesday's Practice Football team goes through light 90-minute workout on Wednesday morning
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- The UAB football team worked out for approximately 90 minutes on Wednesday morning in shoulder pads and shorts, as it continues making preparations for a SEC matchup at rival AUburn next Saturday night, Oct. 3rd. The contest against the Tigers will be televised live to a national audience on CBS. "It was a good day," UAB head coach Travis Rhatigan said. "We are still implementing the stuff for the Auburn gameplan. It was a normal Wednesday-type tempo for us. We just shortened it up a little." With no game on Saturday, the coaching staff decided to give the players Thursday and Friday off from practice, but both days will remain busy during the time off the practice field. "The players will have to lift and run tomorrow, but they'll be off on Friday," Rhatigan said. "The coaches will be out recruiting and we'll start back up on Sunday, to watch film on them. We got some good out of the last two days. We are going to give them a little time off to get rested and be ready to go. "I think it's good to have a little change of pace from a typical week. You get into a season and get grinding and do the same thing over and over, so change is good." One focus for Rhatigan is preparing his offense for a match up against arguably the top defense in the conference. Auburn ranks among the league leaders in nearly every defensive category. "They do a very good job defensively," Rhatigan said. "They have a good secondary, but they really set the tone with their front seven. We have to make sure we're ready to go, challenge our guys and see how we do." UAB's quarterback Adam Dyks has struggled a bit passing the last two weeks after starting the season with a 11-2 touchdown to interception ratio in the first two weeks he has thrown 5 interceptions and 4 touchdowns the past two weeks. "I think we'll be fine, Iv'e stared down some receivers and have to understand when to check it down." Dyks said. "When you guys like Ford, Jackson and Cooley running routes for you out there its easy to forget its not pitch and catch and the defense is dropping everyone to cover those guys." The Oct. 3rd contest will kickoff at 12 p.m. ET atJordan-Hare Stadium in Auburn, Ala.

Re: "Dragon Breath" A UAB Dynasty (NCAA12)
Ya i may pick one soon, I just like Fullers passing but Mullins' running haha ugh, yea as u see the D is putting it on the teams so far, I mean the first game was alil easy, but allowing on 14 to OSU, And i havent changed any of the settings or AI so i have nooo idea were Triplett is getting this running from haha i mean he was a 5 star when i recruited him, He played in 2014 but red shirted last season, Ryne Brown who had 24 Tds last season and over 1800 yards left early, but oh well, I still have some quality backs, Im about to play Missouri, there O is worse then OSU's and there D is about the same, it is an away game, and Mizz is #13 but i think ill be able to take it. I may have a solid #1 Qb after that game. |
