Re: Miami Hurricanes: Decades of Dominance

Miami Gardens, FL. - Two recruits visited the campus of Miami to watch them live. Those two prospects where #13 ranked Outside Linebacker Shane Foster & #11 Wide Receiver Matt Massey. Both recruits gave the game an [A-] they enjoyed the time they spent at Miami learning about what it takes to be a hurricane. The next day Miami got word that OLB Shane Foster will be a hurricane next year. It was exciting news because with SR OLB Sean Spence Graduating they needed some as talented as Foster to step it. The same thing couldn't be said about Massey even though he enjoy the atmosphere at the "U"...he didn't want to be part of it and instead is taking his talents to south bend to play of the Irish next season. The Bad news didn't stop their as the #6 HB Ross Miller decides he will be playing in Florida...just not with the hurricanes. Instead he signs with in-state rival Florida State a shocker to say the least. Their was one bright spot later in that day was the signing of transfer Andrew Lake (**) who will be playing for the canes at OLB.

That all thanks for turning into RecruitingFLY! We bring you the best update on news prospects around the nation!

Game Notes
This should be an favorable match up between Georgia Tech & Miami. GT come into the game with the #6 rushing offense in the nation thanks in part to the option that they play. They also have the #6 Total Defense and #4 best pass defense. If Miami wants to win this then they have to be mistake free! Which means a near perfect game in the passing and rushing departments.

Kirk - Miami should win this hands down!

Nice win, and great job picking up the recruit. Good luck against Georgia, should be a tough battle.

Georgia Tech @ Miami

It's a 'Cane Thing!
Miami takes care of Georgia Tech!

JoJo Nicolas finished with 2 INT on the night

Miami Gardens, FL. -
Its always a good feeling to be at home for once. The atmosphere of the home stadium and the fans cheering and scream for their team to win! That exactly what Miami proved to Georgia Tech here today. The put a whooping on the yellow jackets just down right embarrassed them out of the stadium. [21-55]

Many though Georgia Tech had a chance of winning this game. Well that quickly went out of the win early in the game for them! Jr QB Tevin Washington had a horrible..and i mean horrible outing...only completing 9 out of 21 passes for 126 Yds and 1 TD along with 3 INT. Luckily for Georgia Tech that have a nice running game to bail out their poor play at Quarterback. You never know who was gonna get the ball, as GT had a combined 200+ Yds rushing with 46 touched and 2 touchdowns on the night. SR FB Preston Lyons was the main star in their running attack touching the ball 14 times for 89Yds and 1 TD on the night. SR RB Roddy Jones touched the ball 4 times for 65Yds and found the pay dirt once. The Yellow-jackets defense got into Miami backfield 4 time during the night which was decent to good at how you look it.

Coach Golden has done an amazing job in just his first year as the head coach of the canes'. It should on the field on both sides of the ball. Jacory Harris went 12 out of 25 passes for 235 Yds and 3 touchdowns with no INT. A great outing for harris and the canes offense but it was the running game that didn't pick up the slack. Only combining for 126 Yds on 30 touch for 1 touchdown. Hopefully the running game will pick up next week. Everyone knows that old saying right? "Defensive wins championships?" Miami should that out here today their defensive played amazing. The defensive record 3 sacks on the night with 2 int. Also tailing up 2 fumble recoveries to put the icing on the cake.

Senior Adewale Ojomo is playing lights out this season

The first quarter began and both teams struggled to move the ball down the field...after about 4 minutes of gameplay. The yellow-jackets put the first point on the board with an amazing option play that went to the house. [7-0]

Once Miami got the ball they wasn't gonna let Georgia Tech show them up at home. They moved the ball effectively down the field before handing the ball off to Sophomore Fullback Maurice Hagens to score his first touchdown of the night and to tie up the game. [7-7]

Maurice Hagens find the endzone for his first touchdown!

The second quarter began and Georgia Tech was already knocking on the door of the hurricanes endzone. They waste little time and found the endzone on another option play this time to SR FB P. Lyons for the score. [14-7]

Preston Lyons powering his way into the endzone!

That would happen to be the last time Georgia tech last crossed the endzone for the second quarter. Out came the hurricanes offense and Jacory was slinging the ball all across the field. He found his favorite target in TE chase ford for two back to back touchdowns. [14-21] Things didn't end their for Miami..they score two more times right after that...this time on defense. Former Safety turned Cornerback Jojo Nicolas picked off the ball on a WR bubble screen and took it to the house for the score. [14-28]After Georgia Tech gave up a touchdown on a pick 6 they gave up another one. This was QB Washington bad decision making which cause this, as SR OLB Sean Spence jumped on the option pitch and took it to the house once again for a hurricane touchdown. [14-35]

Miami's final score in the second Quarter came with a 27 Yd FG from Jake Wieclaw to close out the first half.[14-38] Miami had all the momentum in the world right now and this game would be out of reach for the yellow jackets to catch back up. Well...they made it even more harder for GT to even make a come back. On the ensuing kickoff Travis Benjamin was able to return it the distance going 91 Yds for the touchdown! [14-45] That would be the only score in the 3rd quarter of the game...

...It didn't take long before the canes' found the endzone again. Who else would it be besides chase ford who had an amazing outing having 5 receptions for 132 and scoring his 3rd touchdown on the night thanks in part to jacory sling the ball around. [14-52] What spelled good for Miami was bad for Georgia Tech, as QB Tevin Washington threw his third Int of the night right in the hands of Jojo Nicolas. Miami tried but could capitalize on the perfect field position but had to settle on a FG instead. [14-55] The Yellow-jackets finally put together a long enough drive to finally put up a score. [21-55] If they had only tried to play like that earlier..then maybe they would of had a chance of winning. It would be Miami walking away with another victory at home!

Dual-Offensive Players of the Game
Preston Lyons FB (SR)
14 Car, 89Yds, 1TD

Chase Ford TE (SR)
5 Rec, 132Yds, 3 TD

Next Week: Miami @ Virginia

Welcome to the sideline Wrap-Up. This week..we have 2 coaches that are on the hot seat.

Bo Pelini (Nebraska)
&
Bret Bielema (Wisconsin)

Both these coaches are on the hot seat. They both just recently lost to teams that shouldn't have. Wisconsin who was the preseason favorite to win the B1G with the addition of Russell Wilson. They sit in 2nd place in the leaders division with looses to Oregon State, and Michigan. Bret Bielema needs to redirect this ship before things get any worse.

Nebraska who just recently join the B1G before the season started hasn't lived up to their hype yet. They have already lose to Fresno State, Washington and just recently Minnesota. They sit 4th in the legends division and have lost Alonzo Dennard for the season with a broken Wrist. Nebraska needs to step their game up and win the rest of the season!

Thanks for tuning into ESPN360! Were we give you up to date news in college sports!
