Game Notes
These two meet once again but this time a championship is on the line. We welcome you to Ohio State Vs Miami Part II here in Pasadena Cal. These two will duke it out to see who will come out on top and be reward the rose bowl winner! Last time these two met Miami was able to beat them infront of their own fans and now are looking for some revenge. Ohio State showed their toughness last week rallying back from a 47 point defecate to win the B1G championship. The question is can they showed that same wiliness out here in the rose bowl or will it be another hurricane victory?

Re: Miami Hurricanes: Decades of Dominance

The Perfect Storm!
The Hurricanes end 2011 by winning a rematch with buckeyes in rose bowl

Travis Benjamin special skills will be missed in 2012

Pasadena, Cal -
Its that time of the year when we see the top teams going at it for that special bowl game trophy. The end of the 2011 college football season is among us. We have seen some hard fought battle, gut wrenching comebacks, and the surprise underdog winners this is what we love about college football.

We are in for a special treat here in California. The rose bowl this year features a great match between the #11 Ohio State Buckeyes & #3 Miami Hurricanes. These two have met before in the regular season are gonna at it once again. This time for a much better prize on the line! The hurricanes beat them at the shoe last time they met and they plan on doing it again. Ohio State is looking for revenge against the hurricanes, as they were beaten soundly.

Offense
The hurricanes offense squad looks silky smooth on the night. Jacory harris looked abit shaky to begin the game but managed to calm himself down in order to lead his team to a win. Harris went 11 out of 19 passes for 193 Yds no touchdowns and 2 int. Don't let his stats fool you harris looked ten times better then he did in the regular season at most times. The rushing game was their all night for them. Mike James who eclipsed 1,500+ Yds in the bowl game ran the ball 24 times for 125 Yds with 2 touchdowns. Who would have thought that mike james would have had the year he did when miller went down!

Ohio state was a completely different offense then the last time the hurricanes met. Joe Bauserman got the start after beginning benched in the B1G championship game last week. Bauserman made the best of his time on the field going 15 out of 26 on the night for 161 Yds 2 TDs and 3 int to go along with it. Not a bad way to end your senior season. The one difference in this meeting was that Dan Herron was actually healthy. He showed why he was a key component for this teams offense touching the ball 22 times for 148 yd and a TD. Talk about a nice outing for herron and the running game.

Defense
Miami knows how to get after the quarterback and that what they did all night. Lombardi award winner Adewale Ojomo got to the QB twice in the game which had earned him his tenth sack of the season. We can see why he won the Lombardi this kid can get after the QB! The team had 6 sacks all together on the night. Brandon McGee showed off his experience in the secondary INT the ball twice and taking one back to the house. If he decides to stay for his senior year expect Miami to have a top notch pass defense next year!

Let's not forget about Ohio State defense! Sophomore Free Safety Jamie Wood lead the barrage of attacks on the Quarterback. The buckeyes got to the QB on 4 separate occasions on the night. They was able to stop the running game for Miami and focused them to pass the ball were they managed two key Interceptions which sparked the turning point.

--------

The game started out slow just as everyone expect it to. Both these teams defense knew how to stop the run and rush the passer. So it was an interesting first quarter of play. Miami would be the team to strike first on a 37 Yd Field Goal. [0-3] After the 3-point score the game would go silent, as neither offense could trump the other teams defense. Which makes for one great game! It wasn't until late in the 1st quarter with about :49 secs left on the clock that Miami was riding on the buckeyes goal line. The defense knew who was getting the ball but couldn't stop him on 3rd down, as mike james pounded the ball in for the score! [0-10] The second quarter we witness more fire power behind each teams offense. Once again the hurricanes found the first points of the quarter in yet another field goal. [0-13] Already down 13 points the buckeyes had to find an answer to their offensive struggles. Dan Herron would happen to be that answer they needed. Once he found an open lane herron shoot straight through it for some major yards which helped the buckeyes move the ball into hurricanes territory. Down at the goal-line Ohio state had a chance to score and draw the score closer. After 2 failed attempts bauserman handed it off to herron who tried to find the opening into the endzone and somehow found it after being tackled into the endzone for the score! [7-13]

Dan Herron barely getting the ball across the goal line!

Only down by a touchdown Ohio state defense knew they had to make a stop here. They did even better and made a int after Jacory overthrew his receiver. Now was the buckeyes chance to take the lead for the first time in the game. Bauserman got under center knowing this drive would be the one to take the lead. Sadly it didn't end that way for them as bauserman throws a pick 6' and Miami extended their lead. [7-20]

Down by a couple of scores Ohio state still has time to make a comeback in order to win. Bauserman and Herron made some key plays moving the ball down the field. Not alot of times was left on the clock and Bauserman found Sophomore Corey Brown blown pass the coverage for a TD to draw them within a touchdown. [14-20]

Things started off perfectly for Ohio State offense with Herron running down the hurricanes defense. After herron long run junior running back Jordan hall came in to give him a breather but found himself cross the endzone for 6. [21-20] Now Ohio state finally take their first lead of the game and hopes not to loose it. The hurricanes struggled on all the chances they had and couldn't pull together a drive to save their life. Bauserman and the buckeyes offense were clicking on their possession gaining first down after first down. No matter how hard Miami tried to stop the buckeyes they just couldn't bring their drive to an end. Ohio State was quick to score and extended their lead by 8. [28-20]

The clock slowly ticking away and down by 8 points. Miami need to score and build some momentum going into the 4th quarter. The hurricanes just that and put together an amazing drive to stretch the field. Mike James was the focus of today's game scoring once already and found the endzone one more time. [28-26]

Now we have a game ladies and gentlemen. Down to the fourth quarter and Miami trails by one point. Can they take the lead back or will Ohio State get their revenge? Miami answered that question many fans had on their mind by scoring back to back on the buckeyes. One being a quick field goal [28-29] then the running game of Miami showed its face once again with Darion Hall scoring on a 34 Yd run TD sealing the rose bowl victory for the "U". [28-36]
