Hopes Renew

Oklahoma Sooners are #1

The preseason polls have dropped and its unanimous! The fans in Norman are excited about the 2011 Oklahoma Sooners,as they start the season as the #1 team to beat! The Bob Stoops lead Sooners will give it their everything to get to a National Championship in '11.

Preseason Poll
#1 - Oklahoma
#2 - Alabama
#3 - Stanford
#4 - LSU
#5 - Oregon
#6 - Ohio State
#7 - Oklahoma State
#8 - Boise State
#9 - Texas A&M
#10 - Florida State
#11 - Wisconsin
#12 - Auburn
#13 - South Carolina
#14 - TCU
#15 - Michigan State
#16 - Nebraska
#17 - Virginia Tech
#18 - Arkansas
#19 - Mississippi State
#20 - Florida
#21 - Notre Dame
#22 - Texas
#23 - Missouri
#24 - NC State
#25 - Arizona State

#1 - Andrew Luck QB [Stan]
Everyone was shocked when Andrew luck decide to return to school. He would have been the #1 pick in the draft if he had left. Now its either Hope or Hype with luck after head coach John Harbaugh left to coach in the NFL. Luck has everything needed to win the Heisman, Its just up to him to put everything together.

#2 - Kellen Moore QB [Boise]
The Move to the MWC was the right choice for Boise. Kellen Moore now has a chance to show people what he can do against good competition. One of the better QBs in the NCAA as of now. Moore has all the assets to lead his team to another bowl or even a BCS berth!

#3 - LaMichael James HB [Oreg]
Another top 10 pick in the NFL draft if he had left. LaMichael James didn't want to leave school with a sour taste in his mouth after losing in the national championship game. He and the ducks look to try and make it a repeat of last year!

#4 - Denard Robinson QB [Mich]
Denard is...Denard! He can beat you with his legs or tear you up with his arm. Hands down on the best dual threat quarterbacks to enter into NCAA. Making a transition to a new coaches offense could make things abit difficult for some.

#5 - Justin Blackmon WR [OK St]
Blackmon is a playmaker plain and simple. He has all the tools to be a great receiver at the next level. Lets see if he can use those assets to give his team an advantage.

Re: Miami Hurricanes: Decades of Dominance

Surprise Surprise?!?!

It has been announced that 7 division IAA teams have made the jump to Division I football. The teams that have made the move are listed...

Delaware Blue Hens
2003 FCS Champs! They had made it to the FCS Championship 3 time but lost in it twice. Now they look to join the big east for a chance at a title.

Eastern Washington Eagles
The 2010 FCS Champs! They barely defeated Delaware to secure their spot in Division II history. They look to try and take the WAC by storm with Boise State leaving. It leaves a gaping hole for someone to fill.

Villanova Wildcats
It was finally time for the football program to join the big east. The 2009 FCS champs lost a great tackle in Ben ijalana to the NFL last year. They look to try and make a name for themself in the Big east along with Delaware.

Appalachian St. Mountaineers
This team has won the FCS in back to back year from 05'-07'. They believed it was time to make the move to Division I competition. Look out C-USA..The Mountaineers have arrived!

UTSA Roadrunners
The Roadrunners joins the Independents to start out their journey in Division I football. They should be their for long, as they have accepted an invitation for WAC in 2012. Look for former canes head coach Larry Coker to try and turn this program into a force in the WAC!

UT Arlington Mavericks
Mavericks looks to leave the Southland conference to join the WAC. This is a big move for them but its still a small conference. So with the big horse out of the conference anyone even the mavericks could take the top of the WAC!

Texas State Bobcats
Texas State wants a chance to win. So moving from Division II to Division I, Is that the right choice for them? Let's hope that they can make the move smoothly, as they join the less then stellar WAC.

4 out of the 7 teams have been to or have won the FCS national Championship. Now they look to make the jump to Division I and try to secure an even better trophy! The teams that they are replacing are North Texas, Western Kentucky, UL Monroe, UL Lafayette, FAU, FIU and New Mexico State. They look to try to have better success in division IAA.

Re: Miami Hurricanes: Decades of Dominance

Canes' 2011 Schedule

Michigan Wolverines
Away
Brady Hoke & Al Golden go face to face with each other for the first time, as new head coaches battle it out to get a win to open the season. This should be a tough match up and an exciting one.

#13 South Carolina Gamecocks
Away
Facing an SEC opponent in the second week isn't an easy task. The canes' travel to South Carolina to face the gamecocks at their house. Miami's defense needs to be at their top game when facing both Alshon Jeffery & Marcus Lattimore.

Tennessee Volunteers
Away
Miami should come out the victor here against an not so explosive offense in Tennessee. Miami's defense should be able to smother the volunteers offense and hopefully their offense won't make any mistakes.

#6 Ohio State Buckeyes
Away
The annual meeting between these two. Last year Ohio State walked away the winner but this time with no Terrelle Pryor. Miami should look for a win against the buckeyes. This was originally suppose to take place in Miami but had to be re-scheduled and now will be played in the shoe!

-----------------

The first 4 weeks for Miami will be tough for the new head coach Al Golden. This will test them early with two top 25 opponents right off the bat. Two of the teams will be featuring new head coaches while the other two come from one of the toughest conference in the NCAA.

- Bye Week -

Clemson Tigers
Away
Conference play begins with another road game. This time against Clemson at death valley. After four road games Miami could be tired from all the traveling they had to do early in the season but that not an excuse to use if they were to loose this game. Last year Miami beat Clemson 30 to 21 and looks to do so once again this year.

#17 Virginia Tech Hokies
Away
Last year we saw glimpse of what Lamar miller could do as a #1 back but also saw Virginia tech defeating Miami 31 to 17. Miami could have a chance to win here with no Tyrod Taylor or Ryan Williams. Look for this game to be an exciting one!

North Carolina Tar Heels
Home
Miami looks to host the tar heels once again this year. They were firing on all cylinders last season dropping 33 point to NC 10 points. Miami could do the same thing once again with a less then stellar offense on NC side of the field.

Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets
Home
Its another GT vs Miami game. Last time these team met both start inexperience quarterback but it was Miami who was able to beat the yellow jackets.

Virginia Cavaliers
Away
This was a shocker to many people last year. Virginia was able to hold on to a small lead in order to beat Miami 19 to 24. The canes' could score until the 4th qtr where their 19 pt came from. This should be a gimme game for the "U".

Duke Blue Devils
Away

Going against one of the bottom teams in the ACC. This should be a gimme match that Miami shouldn't have to try to win.

#10 Florida State Seminoles [Homecoming]
Home
The in-state rivalry match-up between Miami and Florida State is always a good one. Last year FSU won by a land slide dropping 45 point on Miami. Playing against their fourth ranked opponent should strength their BCS hopes.

- Bye Week -

Boston College [Senior Day]
Home
The final game of the season and also the farewell to all seniors. Miami looks to send their seniors out on a good note against Boston College. Maybe this game would decides who enter into the ACC championship.

[Edit: Yes, i know this isn't the regular 2011 schedule lol. I did something that changed my schedule but should be fun this way! ]

Only 4 game to preview for the first week of the season and it couldn't get any bigger then Miami going against Heisman candidate denard Robinson and the wolverines. Miami Vs. Michigan

First Game Jitters

Brandon McGee uses his instincts and makes a play on the ball.

Ann Arbor, MI - This game lived up to its hype, as the game of the week. It was like a clash between two good defensive teams but it was Miami that claim victory against Michigan to kick off the season. 14-10

This was a great game to watch as both teams had their ups and downs. Miami got things rolling on offense to kick off the season. Jacory harris had a disappointing opening game being sacked 5 times and only completing 5 of 17 passes for 78 yards. His longest pass of the day a 50 yard pass to junior receiver Tommy Streeter came late in the fourth quarter in which he had to rally his together to get down field to score. Harris hope to do better next week against south Carolina. The running game was abit sketchy in the first half but really came alive in the second half. Lamar Miller showed why he is the featured back in Miami rushing for 147 yards on 26 Atts. and scoring the game winning TD.

Michigan's offense struggle in the first half of the game. Denard went 16 for 33 and 212 passing yards also tallying 8 atts for 46 yards rushing but it was denard who made some bad decision.

Denard making some key runs to keep drives alive.

On an option play Miami's Corner back Brandon McGee took advantage of the opportunity to score the first points in the game by jumping on the option(7-0) [See first picture] but that wasn't the end of things as denard made two other key mistakes in the game. One came in the redzone where roman buchanon picked off denard. [See Below]

Buchanon fighting for extra yards after an INT

It didn't end their for the Wolverines. Once again denard got INT this time by Junior Safety Vaughn Telamaque on a long bomb down the field. [See Below] Michigan was finally able to put up some point but at a cost of losing both of their running backs in the first half of the game and had to rely on the 3rd string to get the job done. (7-3)

Ballhawking Safety Vaughn grabs an INT

Both defense showed everything they had on the field, as nobody put any point on the board in the 3rd quarter. That alone is simply amazing for both teams to do. The fourth quarter was abit different and didn't take long for denard to throw his first touchdown of the year to roundtree on a simple WR screen. (7-10)

Only two minutes left in the game and Miami need to score in order to win this one but all hopes were lost when jacory fumbled on a scramble.

Miami had to rely on their defense to make a stop and get the ball back for them in order to win the game. After a couple of fouls on Michigan which pushed them back to their 30 yard line LE Adewale Ojomo was able to fight off his blocker and make a key sack on Robinson to force fourth down and a punt.

Michigan's defense held up solidly against Miami offense. They force them into 4 down territory and the canes' answered back by burning them down field for a 50 yard reception to Tommy streeter which setup Lamar Miller for the game winning TD.

Lamar Miller Score the much needed game winning Touchdown!

Offensive Player of the game
Lamar Miller (SO)
26 carries, 147Yds, TD

Defensive Player of the Game
Jake Ryan (FR) LOLB
5 Tkls, 2 TFL, 2 Sks, 4 ATK

Next Week Miami @ #13 South Carolina
