Miami @ Clemson

Fireworks in Clemson!
Miami Holds off Tigers in High Scoring Battle.

Miami's Defensive Line got pressure all night long!

Clemson, SC
- Miami's nearly done on their journey of road games. A stop a Clemson meant the start of the conference play. Clemson thought they could upset the undefeated hurricanes but thought wrong, as the hurricanes pull off a nice win [42-37]

A nice afternoon in South Carolina, as the Hurricanes made their second trip back south. This time to face conference opponent Clemson tigers. The fans were ready for the tigers to come running down the hill. The tigers were in full swing on offense Tajh Boyd completed 14 out of 32 passes for 240 yards with 2 TD and 1 int. The running game was the key focus on this offense, as Andre Ellington carried the ball 15 times for 185 yards for 2 TD. He also tags 3 receptions for 31Yds.The tiger's defense could have done better only racking up 2 sacks along with a fumble. If they would have done abit more then maybe...just maybe we would be looking at a different outcome here today.

Tigers defensive was soft all night. Letting Harris and James carve them up!

The hurricanes looks great on offense and even better on defense. Jacory has put up some nice number here tonight going 15-30 for 333 Yds and 4 TDs. Also tagging along 7 cars for 17 yards and a TD. Harris seems to be getting better and better each and every weeks. Lets hope he can continue this success.

Jacory is making strides in his final year as a cane!

The running game was looking great as always. Mike James carried the ball 23 times for 132Yds but couldn't find the endzone. Darian Hall had his share of carries during the night. He touched the ball 4 time for 16 Yds and got 1 TD on the nice. On the defense the canes' was all over the field during the game. The defensive line racked up 5 sacks on the night getting in the backfield and making the QB night a living hell. They also forced 1 int and 2 Fumbles on the night. They were very productive on defense which is always a plus.

A.Ojomo causing havoc in the backfield racking up 2 sacks and a FF

Clemson started the game on offense and should why they did for a reason. The first play of the game...ended as quick as it start. The tigers only used one play that stretched the field 80 yards to score. [0-7] If that didn't fire up the crowd then I don't think anything else would. Clemson found the endzone once again thanks to Ellington who broke off a 51Yd run to go along with his 80 Yder earlier. They also scored a field goal on a drive that stalled surprisingly. [0-17]

Already down three scores...Miami need to do something to get them back into this game. Jacory put together a beautiful drive that ended with a TD to chase ford. [7-17] It just didn't end their for the hurricanes, as SR receiver Travis Benjamin catch a nice pass from Harris that broke the NCAA record for the longest pass which resulted in another TD.[14-17] Never count them canes of the game!

It was already shaping up to be a great game and it was only the 1st QTR! Both teams gave it their all as they scored back to back with each other in the early part of the QTR. It wasn't until the defensive coverage broke down that Boyd was able to take advantage of hitting Jr. Receiver Jaron Brown for a TD upping their lead. [14-24] The second qtr brought a nice defensive battle between the to teams. Both of their offenses wasn't able to move the ball down field. The hurricanes broke the ice between the two ,as back up running back Darion Hall scores on a 10Yd run for bring them 3 points away from tying up the game.[21-24] After nearly half of the 3rd qtr gone and not a single score was taken until SR FB Chad Diehl rushed for 35Yds for the pay-dirt ending the Clemson drought [21-31]. Miami answered right back twice. One when jacory harris ran one in on a QB scramble and the other using his arm finding chase ford yet against for a score. [35-31] It seems like Harris and Ford are making a little connection out their on the field! The Fourth qtr was almost a scare for the canes fans! after they had scored a TD thanks to mike james [42-31]. Clemson tigers striked right back with an amazing TD pass from Boyd to Freshman Sammy Watkins to bring the score extremely close. [42-37] The tigers somehow managed to recover the onside kick with less then a minute to go. It was Touchdown or nothing on this drive for Clemson. They were able to pick up some nice small yards on the ground but it was thanks to Miami defensive line man that put pressure on Boyd and sacked him on 4th down to seal up the game and their first conference win!

Clemson needs to think over things after almost coming back!

Dual Offensive Player of the Game
Jacory Harris QB (SR)
15-30, 333Yds, 4 TDs
7 Atts. 17Yds 1Td

Andre Ellington
1 for 3 pass, 30Yds
15 Car, 185 Yds, 2 TD
3 Rec, 31 Yds

On this weeks edition of Sideline Wrap-up. We talk about Coaches on the hot seat and the most winningest head coaches so far in the season.

Already 7 weeks into the season and the eagles aren't looking to good. They have only 1 win so far into the season and 4 looses to tag along with it. They have lost two the like of FCS east, Michigan UTSA, and Akron. Coach English is on the hot seat...if he can't turn this around soon. He could be looking for another job else where!

Winningest Head Coaches

Nick Saban

(5-0)
Ron Zook

Out for Season

Game Notes
Another conference play...and the last road game for the hurricanes. 5 long weeks of road games comes to an end here today. Miami and Virginia Tech renew their rivalry once again. Last Year we saw glimpse of what Lamar miller could do when he started. Even though that didn't win the game they found their next greatest running back. Now this game will take place in Lane Stadium in Blacksburg,VA against the nation's #1 rushing team. Can the hurricanes make it 6 in a row? Or will they get their first loose of the season against the Hokies?
