September 3rd, 2011 : The Philadelphia University Black Panthers take to the field for the very first time and win in a very impressive fashion. Memphis turned out to be no match for the run game of PHIU allowing 327 total yards on the ground.

The First Quarter was when it all started. Maxwell drove down the field with a confidence you would see in a Senior and scored on a 16 yard corner route to Dre Baldwin. The defense absolutely shut Memphis down with pressure and running smart zones forcing them to punt and leading to a PHIU Field Goal. The next PHIU possession they scored on the first play from scrimmage, A 49 Yard Draw play right up the gut from Senior Lawrence Weaver.

The end of the First Quarter was marked by a Sean Taylor Interception from inside PHIU's own five yard line. The Black Panthers received the ball at the three. They tried their luck at another draw play but was stunted for a loss. Then the very next play Freshman QB Micheal Maxwell broke off the longest run by a Quarter-Back in history

The rest of the game was a very dismal one with the only highlights from PHIU being Two forced fumbles from Sean Taylor, A Patrick Johnson Jr interception and a Chris Gipson INT after Memphis threw a 72 yard bomb. The Memphis D was just abused on the ground by both Lawrence Weaver and Khalid Drayton with the combined yardage of the two being 220 Yards

It was a great debut for fans of this new upstart program and hopefully there will be many more games like this
