Re: Eagles Fly Once Again - BC Dynasty (NCAA 12)

Nimble Kimble. Tahj Kimble Gives BC Victory
November 17, 2012

Tallahassee - Third string running back Tahj Kimble ran for a five yard touchdown run with thirty-two seconds left in the game to give the Eagles their tenth win of the season, 28-23 over the Seminoles of Florida State. Kimble played a number of snaps after Rolando Finch left the game in the first quarter, spelling Andre Williams on a number of occasions. Kimble rushed for two touchdowns in the victory, but it wasn't easy for Boston College.

Florida State controlled the entire first half of the game, with BC's only score being Kimble's first run of the game after Andre Williams ripped off a seventy yard run to the three yard line. Florida State held on to a 10-7 advantage after picking off Daniel Shinskie three times. In the third quarter, the Eagles returned the interception favor. After Shinskie's fourth interception of the half on a deep pass, Eagles' J. McCaffrey picked off an EJ Manuel pass and bolted eighty-three yards for the score and a 14-10 lead. Shinskie would throw his fifth interception shortly after that would be returned for a score and promptly, Shinskie was benched. Courtney Brock came in and looked incredible. He would engineer a perfect drive that he capped off himself on a quarterback keeper from five yards out and Boston College was back ahead, 21-17.

Manuel wasn't done as roared back and with three minutes left, found W. Haulstead on a fourteen yard toss. A two-point conversion attempt would fail, and the Seminoles held on to a small 23-21 lead. Then Brock brought his team back and moved down the field before giving the ball to Tahj Kimble with seconds left as he slipped into the end zone for the game winning touchdown.

During the post-game press conference, head coach Frank Spaziani addressed the quarterback position with some quite shocking news. "After today's game, we've elected to start Courtney Brock next week against Miami, as well as the rest of the season. His backup with be Chase Rettig and Daniel Shinskie will be positioned as the third string quarterback."

Eagles Fly, Defeat Hurricane 38-7
November 24, 2012

Chestnut Hill - Courtney Brock looked raw, but nonetheless, played well while Andre Williams rushed for 183 yards and three scores as Boston College closed their season with a 38-7 victory over the disappointing Miami Hurricane team that has finished 2-10 a year after winning the ACC Championship a year ago.

The Eagles have a bye week before everything unravels and prepare for their rematch with the Virginia Tech Hokies for the ACC title.

Brock Scrambles for Game Winning Score
December 8, 2012

Charlotte - In October, L. Thomas of Virginia Tech threw for 384 yards and four scores while running back D. Wilson had 148 yards on the ground when the Hokies embarrassed the Eagles of Boston College, 44-17. This time around, head coach Frank Spaziani knew what he had to do. He must contact Thomas and with Wilson out, slow T. Gregory down. It appears he did a great job with his game plan. Thomas was held to just six-of-eleven passing for sixty-seven yards. T. Gregory was the highlight of the team with Virginia Tech's lone touchdown run as well as 144 yards on the ground.

It wasn't an offensive showing by any means. Both teams only combined for 473 yards of total offense. Only one turnover by either squad, a L. Thomas interception for Virginia Tech that proved to be costly. The interception would lead to the go-ahead touchdown run by true freshman quarterback Courtney Brock. Brock struggled most of the game, going a mere four-of-thirteen for eighty-two yards with a touchdown throw to Bobby Swigert and the touchdown rush for the game winning score.

The Eagles started the scoring after the teams exchanged drives when he found receiver Bobby Swigert from seven yards out. Minutes later, T. Gregory answered with a one yard run himself, and the game was tied at seven. In the second quarter, Virginia Tech threatened in the red zone but were denied a second touchdown and settled for an A. Evans thirty yard strike, the score at halftime was 10-7.

L. Thomas began to move his team down the field on the opening drive of the second half. Unfortunately, J. McCaffrey had other plans when he intercepted Thomas and returned it to the thirty-five yard line. Two minutes later, Brock scrambled into the end zone for a 14-10 lead. The score would never change for the rest of the game and the Eagles would go on to win the ACC Championship Game.

With the win, they are turning heads for a potential National Championship berth should teams such as Alabama and Wisconsin lose their respected conference championships.

Re: Eagles Fly Once Again - BC Dynasty (NCAA 12)

BCS Bowls Announced
There was little controversy this time around with the BCS bowl announcements. There was a clear cut number one and after an exciting conference championship weekend, nearly a clear cut number two.

Rose Bowl
#6 Iowa vs #12 Oregon
Iowa's a team who held on to #1 in the polls previously, but after consecutive losses to Penn State and Michigan State, found themselves sliding down the polls. However, in a Big 10 Championship Game, Iowa shocked the 10-2 Badgers of Wisconsin, winning 38-17 and rolling into the Rose Bowl. Oregon lost two games early in the season, by a combined total of four points. They reeled off seven straight wins into the Pac 10 title game where they doubled up Utah, 34-17.

Sugar Bowl
#4 Arkansas vs #5 Michigan

The battle of two at large bids. Neither team played for their respected conference championship, but both squads, at 10-2, square off in the Sugar Bowl. The Razorbacks two losses came against two impressive squads losing by seven to Alabama and fourteen to Auburn. Michigan started off 6-0 before Nebraska brought them back to earth with a 34-14 domination. Two weeks later, Iowa topped them in overtime. They closed the season with a 27-17 win over rival Ohio State.

Orange Bowl
#3 Boston College vs #16 Pittsburgh

The Eagles feel a little disappointed they couldn't sneak into the National Championship after beating then ranked #7 Virginia Tech in the ACC Championship Game, 14-10 when BC was ranked sixth. Unfortunately, with the help of Wisconsin's loss, they fell just short. The 12-1 Eagles lone loss came early in the season against the same Virginia Tech team they beat last week. Their foe, the Big East Champion Pittsburgh Panthers, lost their only two games of the season against the only two ranked opponents they faced, Virginia Tech in week two and Notre Dame in week eight.

Fiesta Bowl
#9 Oklahoma vs #11 Virginia Tech

Big 12 champions, the Oklahoma Sooners face off against the at large bid of Virginia Tech in the Fiesta Bowl. Oklahoma was shocked in week three against the Horned Frogs of TCU and three weeks later, lost a nail biter against Texas before they proceeded to win six straight en route to the Big 12 Title. Virginia Tech appeared well on their way to an undefeated season before Florida State topped them late in the season. Then, Boston College avenged an early season beating in the ACC Championship to knock the Hokies down again.

BCS National Championship
#2 Alabama vs #1 TCU

David versus Goliath. That's what everyone is saying throughout the NCAA. Some feel like a team such as TCU doesn't belong. They're from the MWC conference, they don't play anyone tough, etc... The only ranked team they faced was Oklahoma in week three, where they won 38-28. Despite all the talk, TCU went undefeated and find themselves as the clear cut number one. Their foe, one of the biggest names in college football, the Crimson Tide of Alabama. Some believe that 'Bama should of leapfrogged TCU after winning the SEC championship against Georgia. Their only blemish this entire the season was a 30-27 overtime loss to Michigan. With a win by TCU, it may turn heads around the NCAA and should both TCU and Boise State remain in the MWC (despite rumors of TCU moving to the Big East) an automatic qualifier could be in talks.

Other Notable Bowls
Capital One Bowl | #7 Auburn vs #10 Wisconsin
Outback Bowl | #13 Georgia vs #8 Penn State

Heisman Trophy Winner
Los Angeles - In an absolutely dominating vote, Boston College's Andre Williams has run away with the Heisman Trophy topping three other running backs and a quarterback. Williams had an outstanding 2,255 points, including 691 first place votes, nearly 650 more than second place Michael Dyer. Dyer came in with 965 points as the clear cut runner up. Williams credentials made it a no brainer however, with 2,263 yards rushing with twenty-four touchdowns. Along with that, Williams racked up 1,520 yards in return yards as well. Dyer had a respectable 1,160 yards rushing, another 327 yards receiving and nineteen total touchdowns.

Alabama's Eddie Lacy came in third while Wisconsin back James White was fourth. Virginia Tech's quarterback Logan Thomas rounded out the top five in voting.
