Missouri defeated Oregon in the Fiesta Bowl 41-0

The Missouri Tigers, and the entire Big XII suffered from repeat games in the same stadiums. Outrage is everywhere, but the Tigers said they will play their games without complaint. The team that got lucky to get two home games in a row is required to give up their entire gate plus travel expenses to the team that got shafted.

Gutcheck game: Against #17 Oklahoma State. They shut down the Cowboys last year, can they do it again?

Most difficult game: #12 Boise State. Last year in the Fiesta Bowl the Broncos gave the Tigers all they could handle. The Broncos lost their AA QB and HB, but the Tigers lost most of their awesome pass rush, and their secondary is still miserable.

Most difficult stretch: #22 Arizona State, #17 Oklahoma State, Texas Tech. Never take the Sun Devils or the Cowboys lightly, and Texas Tech's offense has only improved.

Snoozefest: Iowa State. There are no gimmes but Iowa State is someone that Missouri should handle by at least 2 TDs.

Upset alert: Baylor. After playing 6 of their 7 toughest opponents, including 3 in a row, the Tigers go to Waco and the Bears have their best shot to upset the Tigers.

#18 Missouri at #11 Boise State
Matchup Preview | September 1, 2012
@
#18 Missouri Tigers
(0-0, 0-0 Away)

#11 Boise State Broncos
(0-0, 0-0 Home)
Game Notes
It used to be considered stupid to play at Boise State on the Smurf Turf, but after Nevada humanized the Broncos last year on it, it doesn't seem so bad.
The home field advantage might play a factor in the upcoming Fiesta Bowl rematch, as everyone is flooding Idaho and Oregon this weekend to see the two marquee matchups this week.

The main question is how do the Broncos, who went 4-2 with Joe Southwick subbing in for Kellen Moore last year, cope with Southwick in charge of the offense? New running back Blake Cooper and wide receivers Chris Potter and Geraldo Boldewijn hope to balance out the Bronco offense.

Missouri lost a lot of talent from their defense, the big question is can the offense keep up again like last year.

Re: When the Defense Roars: Missouri Tigers Dynasty

Apologies to everyone who was/is still following. Student teaching has been really hard to keep up with everything, I will post the depth chart and play the game tonight. After that probably 3-5 days between recaps, it's an awesome dynasty and I won't stop playing, just had to get life sorted first, lol

Re: When the Defense Roars: Missouri Tigers Dynasty

Tigers defensive struggles continue in 2012
The 2011 Missouri Tigers struggled defensively, but always managed to survive thanks to the awesome offense. Unfortunately, it looks like the Tigers defense has regressed instead of improving as 2012 kicked off with a fireworks display on the Boise Blue.

The Boise State Bronco offense started quickly, taking a 21-7 lead into halftime.
Missouri responded with a 21-14 2nd quarter to make it 35-28 at the halftime, anyone's ballgame. The spotlight on this game made it a huge hit with the fans, everyone in the stadium was roaring as the Broncos were hosting their first ever non Pac-12 AQ conference opponent that was decently respected.

The 3rd quarter saw the Broncos shred the Tigers defense, as J. Southwick did what Kellen Moore failed to in the Fiesta bowl 9 months ago, and hit several deep passes to put the Broncos up 56-31 at the end of 3.

The Broncos offense put up 21 points in the 3rd quarter

The Tigers defense finally started holding, but it was too little to late as the Tigers 13-0 fourth quarter meant little as the Broncos gave the Tigers their first loss in 14 games, and guaranteed the Tigers will not have back to back undefeated seasons.

The Tigers defensive line did well, but they couldn't beat the Broncos themselves

With the loss the Tigers take a week off before heading to Oklahoma to try and beat the Sooners for the 3rd year in a row.
