Re: Win The Day: Oregon Duck Dynasty

OREGONS DEFENSE STEPS UP AND HELPS DUCKS WIN 27-11

(Week 4)
The Oregon Ducks defense finally had a good game after 2 so so games in which they gave up 35 in each of there first 2 games. Oregon infact had a 20-0 lead at the half, Oregon was playing team ball on D making stops had got there rush defense to pick it up, coming into the game Oregon was giving up 300 yards rushing a game. THATS right Oregon was allowing that many. They help Notre Dame to just 45 total rushing yards.

Oregons offense was not running on all cylinders in the 2nd half scoring just 7 points, And it was the first time in along time that Oregon did not get a single rushing touchdownd, Sophomore QB Cole Tyler is having a great year throwing the ball and is almost looking better then former QB Darron Thomas. Tyler was a 5 star recruit that Oregon got over LSU and Auburn. Tyler was 21-37 for 270 yards and 3 touchdowns. This was the 2nd game in a row that Notre Dame was facing a #2 rank team in the country, last week Penn St was #2 and Notre Dame knocked them off. So then it was on to Oregon but the Irish offense could not pick it up after the Defense started slowing Oregon down.... Oregon has a bye week coming up and then they start there Pac 12 conference schedule as they travel to LA to take on the USC Trojans. Also congrats to Oregon for winning there 600th game in school history.

(side note. during Oregon's bye week in Week 5. #1 Alabama lost, moving Oregon into #1 as they get set to take on the Trojans of USC in Week 6)

Re: Win The Day: Oregon Duck Dynasty

OREGON WINS SHOOT OUT GROUND BATTLE OVER USC 38-35

Wow first off i must say what a game back and forth not one team scored 2 times in a row it was back and forth till the final seconds. And for some reason the topic for the day was Rushing, Both teams went crazy on the ground.

USC's Baxter went over 297 yards rushing on 39 rushes. And 4 scores. Oregon did its share of rushing like always. 3 different players ran it more then 10 times. Lead by Ryne Browns 146 yards, Every time USC scored Oregon came right back to score on the next drive and pretty much every Oregon rushing Touchdown was from a mile away. Oregon scored on runs of 90-80 and 76 yards.

Neither team could get there passing game going so both teams went to the ground, At first it looked like a Defensive battle as it was 7-0 after one quarter. In the end Oregon rushed the ball to set up for the winning kick. True Freshman Eric Turner who had already missed a field goal earlier.. Came through in the clutch and nailed a 39 yard kick as time expired. Oregon remains #1 in college football and now is 4-0. USC Drops to 3-3 but hopefully they can win the South and Oregon takes the north cause wow would it be a great Pac 12 Title game. Last year Oregon beat USC 45-38 in overtime. Up next for Oregon is a trip to Stanford, to play a team they havent played in 3 seasons. Up next for USC is a trip to Tempe Arizona to take on the Arizona St Sun Devils..

Re: Win The Day: Oregon Duck Dynasty

DUCKS HANG ON IN WET CONDITIONS TO BEAT STANFORD 38-35

Palo Alto- The rain was coming down hard in this game between the #1 Ducks of Oregon and unranked Stanford, playing each other for the first time since 2010 when ironically Oregon went to the national title game. the last time Oregon was here Stanford had a running back named Toby Gerhart that ran all over Oregon in 2009 to win 51-42.

Now 2013 and Stanford still has a power back Senior Anthony Wilkerson 6-1 224. and he put Gerharts performance to shame, Oregons defense that has been alil off and on all season again could not stop the run Wilkerson went for 330 yards on 25 rushes and 3 touchdowns, leaving Oregons D shaking there heads. Oregon was lead by freshman 5 star Ryne Brown who had 175 yards on 30 carries. Ducks quarterback Cole Tyler was knocked out of the game with a mild concussion late in the 3rd and did not return. Backup Marcus Mariota did a very decent job coming in, he didnt have to pass alot as Oregon moved well on the ground

(i think i need to tweak the run O and run D on the sliders a tad, cause on coach mode they seem to sometimes break one tackle and gone. and the DL gets blown up sometimes)

For most people watching this they were thinking this was going to be in the 50's but the D's did make some stops here and there. The 2nd quarter was the big quarter as Oregon outscored Stanford 17-14 the rest of of the quarters it was 7-7. Oregon did what they have done time and time again after falling behind they would strike back fast, Oregon was down 35-31 with about 2 minutes left and WR Charlie Pace who hasnt had very many catches this season, came up big as he ran one in off a QB-Slot option, Oregons D would have to have there biggest stop of the game, and they did. On 4th down and 11 Stanford threw a pass over the middle and came up about 3 yards short. Oregon took over and ran out the clock. getting a 38-35 win for the 2nd week in a row......the scary part was that Stanford put up 35 points in just 13 minutes with the ball as Oregon dominated the time of possession. Oregon has to get it together on D before there showdown with Boise St who has a better defense this year then USC and Stanford.

Next for Oregon should be as it looks on paper a easy win, But UCLA has given Oregon fits the last 2 seasons. back in 2011 UCLA defeated Oregon 27-17 and last season Oregon won but it was close.. 24-14 So look for UCLA again to put up a fight however the last 2 games were at UCLA's home field. Now this year its at Autzen Stadium. UCLA comes in at 2-3 (0-2)

Sorry didnt have time to add in the Stanford players in the boxscore had to go to work....

Re: Win The Day: Oregon Duck Dynasty

DUCKS DEFENSE SHUTS DOWN UTAH, NEXT UP BOISE ST SHOWDOWN

(before this game i went in and changed the rushing sliders alil, i lowered the Rush Blocking 5 points for cpu and human, and i raised the rush defense and tackling, i was tired of seeing the DL get blown up almost every play and then the RB break the tackle of the only man left 70% of the time and go 60 plus yards, I think it helped alil more this game, We will see against Boise St)

Oregon welcomed in the Utes or Utah for a game at Autzen Stadium. The Ducks #1 in the country needed to not overlook Utah, on there way to the showdown @ Boise St next week. in the first quarter Oregon got it going fast. Picking off a pass from Utah QB Tyler Shreeve on Utahs first drive, it was intercepted by Linebacker Anthony Wallace, And on Oregons first drive they get down field and score on a dive up the middle by backup running back Michael Brown from 8 yards out.

Oregons defense was finally getting it going and making stops and knocking down passes, Utah only managed a field goal in the first half. Oregon tacked on another touchdown on a 1 yard dive by Tra Carson. Duck Qb Cole Tyler struggled alil in the first half getting his passes down. The defense of the Ducks was playing lights out in the first half as Safty Troy Hill jumped a pass and picked it off. The Ducks again took advantage of that and a few play slater Ryne Brown ran it in for the touchdown from 2 yards away giving the Ducks a commanding lead 21-3 and then on the following kickoff Utah fumbles the ball and Oregon recovers, however the reviewed the play and Utah was down before the ball came out.. big break for Utah. Utah ran one play and that was all for the first half. Oregon 21 Utah 3

In the 2nd half Oregon wanted to grind the clock by running it more.. it was working for the most part but Oregon was getting alil to conservative and had 2 straight 3 and outs, and then Utah got the ball back and finally got a touchdown as Shreeve hit his Receiver for a touchdown pass of 25 yards making it 21-10 with 1:19 left in the 3rd. and thats how the 3rd quater ending with Oregon driving, and up 21-10. Not alot changed or happened in the 2nd half or in the 4th, Oregon ran it and threw it here and there. Utah just couldnt get anything going on offense and Oregon Stopped a late Utah drive on 4th down inside the 20. Oregon took over and ran out the clock to get the win 21-10. Oregon now moves to 7-0 remains #1. The big key in the game was the D stepping up and slowing down the running game finally. it was a team effort eight different Ducks had at least 5 tackles. Utah only had 31 rushing yards and the main reason for such a low total is they lost 32 yards in sacks. Up next for the #1 Ducks is there showdown against hated Boise St who is now 8-0 and #2.
