WEEK 11 RECAP @ WASHINGTON
Darron Thomas, Colt Lyerla lead Oregon in route over rival Huskies !
The Oregon Ducks came in riding a 4 game winning streak and making a run at the top of the Pac 12 North spot. This was a huge game for both teams. as Oregon came into the game with a record of 5-3 overall and 3-2 in the pac12. The Huskies were 5-3 overall and 3-3 in the pac 12. The Huskie fans at Huskie stadium tried to be that 12th man. But Oregons offense and defense was to much on this day and the rain in Seattle Washington did not slow down that Duck offense. Oregon quarterback Darron Thomas was 22-32 for 294 yards with 2 touchdown passes. It seems as though the Huskies were more focused on slowing down Running back LaMichael James, James was held to 77 yards rushing on 21 carries. 8 different players ran the ball for Oregon. True freashman Colt Lyerla had 2 rushes with 2 touchdowns. from 2 yards away and 40 yards away both in the first half. Lyerla had 2 carries for 42 yards. The Huskies new starting quarterback for the season with the graduation of Jake Locker, was Keith Price and he had a rough day going just 9-31 passing with just 105 yards. However he did not throw a interception.. Huskies top offensive player, Runningback Chris Polk has 107 yards on 24 rushes. The Huskies were held to just 2 field goals. And Oregon pull away in the 2nd half outscoring the Huskies 21-0. It was 17-6 at half. Oregon took a 7-0 lead after a Lyerla touchdown, the Huskies chipped away with 2 straight field goals making it 7-6, but then Oregon went on to score the next 31 points. The loss now puts the Huskies in 4th place in the Pac12 North, 2.5 games behing first place Utah. Whats worse is the Huskies already played Utah earlier this season losing 28-24. The Huskies end with games at home against USC, at Oregon State and then the apple cup back home against Washington State, its not out of the question that the Huskies could win out. They need one more win to become bowl eligible also. As for the Ducks of Oregon, They are now in 3rd place just 1 game back of first place Utah, and a half game behind 2nd place Boise St, the Ducks still have to play Boise St and Utah in back to back games. A very very important 2 weeks for Oregon football. They want to make it to the first ever Pac12 title game. against most likely Stanford. Up next for the Ducks is a game at Boise State. dont miss out on the Pac12 game of the week. Oregon @ Boise State.

Week 12 Preview @ Boise State.
#24 Oregon Ducks 6-3 @ #17 Boise St Broncos 8-2
Can you smell it........the start of a new rivalry in the Pac12, These 2 teams already know each other from past non conference games.. Most recently IN 2009 the season opener here in Boise Idaho, on national TV on ESPN when Boise State took down Oregon 19-8, But the game is most remembered from the punch by former Oregon running back Legarrette Blount who was apparently mocked after the game by Broncos DE Byron Hout, Everyone thought Boise St would crumble after moving to a tougher conference when they left the WAC conference for the new PAC12, But Boise continues to win, Maybe not unbeaten like past years i the WAC, but they continue to play the way they have always played, With lots of heart and fight. the Biggest leader on the Broncos team is Quarterback Kellen Moore. The Senior has passed for 3,157 yards, with 33 touchdowns and only 3 interceptions all season long. The most outstanding thing about him is his amazing completion percentage, For the season Moor is completing 63% of his passes even in the tougher PAC12, They also have a rushing game you can sleep on, Doug Martin has 864 yards rushing and 8 touchdowns this season averaging 5.8 yards a carry, Moore's number 1 target is Tyler Shoemaker who has 1118 yards receiving and 10 touchdowns.. If the Broncos wanna make ig waves that have to do it this season. The will be losing Kellen Moore, Tyler Shoemaker, Tightend Kyle Efaw, Doug Martin, and 3 offensive lineman all starters.. along with backup DJ Harper at runningback. and thats just on the offensive side of the ball. The Broncos lost in a shootout to #1 rank Stanford 47-43 back on 9-24-11, They also got shocked last week in CAL 28-26. Leaving some to wonder if they overlooked Cal for there matchup with Oregon. Boise State does have wins over TCU-USC and there season opener over Georgia.. As for the Oregon Ducks.. They started off with one of the worst starts in along time. going 1-3 losing to LSU,UCLA and Arizona. Since then they have bounced back to win 5 straight after making some changes in the playbook on offense and defense. The Ducks defense has yet to give up more the 20 points since there loss to Ucla 27-17, since then the D is only giving up 9.4 points per game. They will have a big task trying to slow down the Bronco offense. Every game is important from here on out for both teams. Oregon ends with Boise St, Utah and Oregon State, While the Broncos end with Oregon and Utah, Utah happens to be in 1rst right now in the PAC12 North, and they end with Ucla Oregon and Boise State, so needless to say the last few weeks will be big time in the tight Pac12 North, Head to Head Points Per Game Oregon 37.8 Boise St 36 Total Offense Oregon 443 YPG Boise St 477 YPG Total Defense Oregon 288 Boise St 312 Oregon has lost the last 2 meetings 2008 37-32 (D.Thomas came in late and almost brought Oregon back) 2009 19-8 kirk herbstreit is picking Oregon to win this game.. and the lastest ESPN predictions has Oregon winning 24-20. The loser of this game is not completly out of the running for the Pac12 North division title, But it would take alot to get back in.. Dont miss out #24 Oregon @ #17 Boise State BRONCO STADIUM Last edited by benton32; 08-31-2011 at 07:15 AM. |

Boise St beats Ducks with last second TD
The 24th ranked Oregon Ducks took on number 17 Boise St in a battle of Pac12 north contenders. Oregon jumped out to a quick 14-0 lead after scoring touchdowns on a scott grady fumble recovery and a Barner 11 yard TD run all in the first quarter. But then Boise St settled in and got going.. Scoring 21 straight points. All of them were TD passes from Kellen Moore, Oregon was help scoreless in the 2nd and 3rd quarter,
They entered the 4th trailing 21-14. Oregon then made a 28 yard field goal. and with 2:51 left Ducks QB Darron Thomas found Lavasier Tuinei in the end zone for a 10 yard TD pass. Oregon took the lead, 24-21 but left to much time on the clock for Boise St, With 0:46 seconds left in the game Kellen Moore found Potter in the back of the endzone and Potter took a shot after catching the ball but hung on Oregon had one last chance and took a shot to the endzone by backup QB Bryan Bennett who had to come in late after Thomas got hurt on a 8 yard run. Bennett threw it to the endzone but it was knocked away as time expired. for the 3rd straight time Oregon has lost to Boise St. the final was 28-24. Oregon falls to 6-4 overall and 4-3 in the Pac12, Boise State goes to 9-2 overall and 6-2 in the Pac12. Oregon had 0 turnovers to Boise States 3 but could not hang on for the win. Boise States Byron Hout #94 gets called for a late hit on Ducks QB Darron Thomas on this play. Hout was punched after the 2009 game by former runningback LeGarrette Blount.

WEEK 13 Preview Utah At Oregon
Ducks Look to bounce back as they return home to take on the Utah Utes
The Oregon Ducks have not had the best of seasons this year.. But they are bowl eligible and they wont stop playing hard till the end. The Ducks have officially been eliminated from a spot in the Pac-12 title game. The Ducks are 4-3 in Pac-12 play, while first place Boise State is 6-2 in Pac-12 North play. The Broncos have only one conference game left and that is next week against Utah. So even with a Loss a 6-3 Boise team would make it in over a 6-3 Oregon team if the Ducks won there last 2. Boise St would get the tie breaker head to head. But that wont stop Oregon from trying to win out and have the best season they possibly can for this season. The Utah Utes still have a shot at the Pac12 title spot as the North winners. They are 5-2 in conference play and will Play Boise State to end the regular season. Boise St has the week off this week, So if Utah beats Oregon, then next weeks game between Boise St and Utah will be for the Pac-12 North title.. The Pac-12 South already belongs to #1 rank Stanford.. DUCKS WIN IN DOUBLE OT
OREGON WINS IN DOUBLE OVERTIME
The Oregon Ducks hung on to beat the Utah Utes at Autzen Stadium in double overtime. 35-28. A very very good game. Utah struck first from 1 yard out on a dive, Oregon would then come back and score the next 2 touchdowns, Freshman Runningback Tre Carson ran it in from 9 yards out and then Darron Thomas hooked up with Lavaiser Tuinei on a long 74 yard touchdown. Ducks had a 14-7 lead at half. Utah would tack on 2 field goals in the 3rd and that was the only scoring of the 3rd. Utah scored with just over 4 minutes left and they added on the 2 point conversion making it 21-14. On Oregons next drive they got down field and LaMichael James ran it in from 3 yards out. tying it up at 21-21. In the first overtime Utah struck gold on a 5 yard touchdown pass, and they got the extra point. So Oregon needed to score a TD to keep this game alive, Oregon got called for a holding penalty, and on 4th and 15 Thomas hit Tuinei for 18 yards. keeping the Ducks alive. James ended the drive with a touchdown run from the 1 yard line. His 2nd of the day and 16th on the year making him and Cody Getz from Air Force as the rushing touchdown leaders in the nation. So in the 2nd over time. on a playaction run Thomas hit Josh Huff for a 28 yard TD pass. Utah had to score a TD, and on 4th and 8 Utah threw a IC pass in the endzone and Oregon walked outta there with a 35--28 win in double overtime. moving Oregon into 2nd in the Pac 12 North. Up next for the 7-4 Ducks is there annual rivalry with Oregon State.

Re: Win The Day: Oregon Duck Dynasty
Oregon Wins Civil war over rival Oregon St. 20-16
Anytime it comes to the civil war you can throw records out the window. The Oregon Ducks had a very rough start to there season, Starting 1-3 with losses to LSU-UCLA and Arizona, But Oregon finishes strong making it to a bowl game and winning 7 outta there last 8, the only loss coming to Boise State. The Oregon State Beavers had a rough middle of the season, at one point they had lost 4 in a row, But then they bounced back to win there next 3 over Byu, Cal, and Washington, heading into the civil war. The civil war turned out to be some what of a defensive battle. Oregon State would not go away, they struck first on a short 2 yard pass from quarterback Ryan Katz to James Rodgers. The extra point was however missed. That was the only points of the first quarter. Each team scored a touchdown in the 2nd quarter and they went into the break with the Beavers leading at autzen stadium 13-7. The Ducks were the only team to score in the 3rd on a Touchdown pass from Darron Thomas to Lavasier Tuinei. Oregon had a 14-13 lead going into the final quarter. Oregon would later strike again as Darron Thomas kept it and ran it in for the touchdown. it was now 20-13 Oregon. Oregon St drove down field but was only able to get a Field Goal making it 20-16, Oregon ended up punting on there next drive. The Beavers had one more shot but failed on a 4th and 9. Oregon took over and ran out the clock, winning the civil war in a hard fough battle, Oregon finish the regular season 8-4 and the Beavers finished at .500 with a 6-6 record, both teams will be going bowling this december.

Ducks win Shootout in the Alamo Bowl
DUCKS WIN WILD SHOOT OUT, WITH HIGH SCORING 4TH QUARTER
San Antonion Texas. In the final game of the 2011 season the Oregon Ducks took on the Oklahoma Cowboys of the Big 12. This was pretty much a home game for the Cowboys only play a few hundred miles away. The first quarter was pretty much a defensive quarter, But the scoring was to come. In the 2nd quarter Oregon struck first as freshman power back Tre Carson pounded it in from 2 yards out, But then the Cowboys scored the next 10 points. at the half it was 10-7 Oklahoma State, Coming out of the locker room i think both teams defenses took the rest of the night off, that or the Offenses got it going. Oregon and Oklahoma St traded scores in the 3rd, Oregot got a 44 yard field goal and a 9 yard TD pass from Darron Thomas to tightend David Paulson. Oklahoma St got a TD run from Quarterback Brandon Weeden and a 22 yard strike from weeden to all american wideout Justin Blackmon. At the end of the 3rd it was 24-17 Oklahoma St. But the scoring was not over by far. The teams went back and forth all 4th quarter, it was amazing back and forth neither D could slow down the other team. Oregon scored 29 points in the 4th and Oklahoma St had 20. Ducks QB Darron Thomas hit WR Tuinei for a 72 yard TD pass to end the game. He used his 6-5 height went up and got the ball broke a tackle and took it to the house ending one of the craziest games all season long. 46-44 Oregon winning the Alamo Bowl.
