Re: Finishing Strong (2nd Try): A Jacksonville Jaguars Franchise (Madden 12)

Superbowl

19 24
MVP: Aaron Rodgers: 18-30, 206 Yards, 3 TD, INT

The Packers have won it once again as they are now the two time Champions of the NFL. They beat the best team in the NFL, the Baltimore Ravens. Aaron Rodgers is officially now considered the best quarterback in the NFL over Peyton Manning and Tom Brady. He doesn't disappoint when it comes to clutch situations. This season was a great one filled with amazing record breakers, surprising teams, and well played season for being in a long lockout with limited practice. We will see you in the Offseason.

Re: Finishing Strong (2nd Try): A Jacksonville Jaguars Franchise (Madden 12)

Alright guys so I simulated the pre-season and I'm going to put up the Schedule for the 2012-2013 season up on the next post along with the injury report and everything else. I've decided to go back to All-Madden as I loved the challenge with it but you guys have to realize it might cause unrealistic stats for Blaine Gabbert as it makes me more inaccurate and harder to actually catch passes so just letting you guys know. BTW the first four games are going to be brutal =(. You'll see what I mean haha.

Re: Finishing Strong (2nd Try): A Jacksonville Jaguars Franchise (Madden 12)

Alright so does anyone else think that those first 6 games are like the toughest? Because on All-Madden it is not going to be easy haha I think I'm going to have to play conservative, like milk the clock, throw short passes to get to the first down, run smart and effectively. This is the second year in a row I do not have a Wide Receiver with a rating of at least 80 so this kind of sucks haha hopefully Alshon Jeffery will go over 80 after this season. I have three tall receivers in Plaxico Burress, Alshon Jeffery and Michael Floyd and a speedy receiver in Mike Thomas and Cecil Shorts, III so hopefully that will keep people off of Marcedes for a while.

Injury Report
HB - C.J. Spiller / Partial PCL Tear (1 Week)
TE - Lee Smith / Abdominal Tear (1 Week)
WR - Kendall Wright / Torn Shoulder Labrum (1 Week)
RE - Ugo Chinasa / Torn Quadricep (7 Weeks)
LOLB - Alex Carrington / Upper Arm Fracture (1 Week)
MLB - Bart Scott / Torn Rotator Cuff (Placed on IR)
Game Notes
Buffalo: Buffalo ended the season pretty bad last year even with the addition of Marcell Dareus. They picked up RT Mark Asper in the first round and LT Matt Reynolds in the second to help Ryan Fitzpatrick have more time in the pocket, and also picked up quarterback Kellen Moore from Boise State in the third which was a shocker to all of us. Do the Bills not have faith anymore in Fitzpatrick? Only time will tell.

New York Jets: The Jets were on the opposite end of the spectrum of the Bills. They placed 4th best in the NFL and added LG Johnnie Troutman an CB Omar Bolden both in the second round. With Antonio Cromartie and Kyle Wilson having only 3 years left as a Jet, they're going to let one or both go and by that time Omar Bolden will be ready to be across Darelle Revis as he will resign his contract by the end of this year.

Prediction: I say the Jets come away with a win at home on Thursday night. This game is too easy and I don't see two rookie tackles stopping the rush defense, even though Bart Scott is out for the season. Look for the Jets to utilize their pass defense well and throw in some blitzes to show that the rookie tackles are in for one hell of a game.

Injury Report

HB - Jamaal Charles / Broken Collarbone (7 Weeks)
HB - Knowshon Moreno / Partial Groin Tear (1 Week)
RG - Chris Kuper / Broken Ribs (3 Weeks)
WR - Damaris Johnson / Broken Wrist (8 Weeks)
DT - Ty Warren / Fractured Elbow (Placed on IR)
Game Notes
Kansas City: The Chiefs are now in a lot of trouble again. Jamaal Charles will be out for 7 weeks due to a broken collarbone, but the addition of HB LaMichael James is starting to look really good, along with LE Bruce Irvin and TE David Paulson, who really produced in the offseason. The Chiefs did not do well last season, but with the addition of Irvin I think just him alone will improve them to a decent record this season.

Denver: Denver being the second worst record last season ended up drafting well in positions they actually needed. TE Brandon Barden from Vanderbilt will be their future Tight End as they have needed one badly these past few years. Complimenting Elvis Dumervil at Left End will be Julian Miller from West Virginia. The guy was arguably the best end in the draft besides Quinton Coples so look for him to really produce this season.

Prediction: I am seeing the Chiefs come away with a win as the Broncos are missing Knowshon for the game and there's not really anybody good that will replace him which will force them to throw to Brandon Flowers, Kendrick Lewis and Eric Berry.

LT - Michael Roos / Broken Wrist (3 Weeks)

DT - Karl Klug / Dislocated Hip (5 Weeks)
Game Notes
Houston: The Texans ended up around the top of the middle of the pack last year. If it wasn't for the Jaguars, the Texans would have made the playoffs, missing the playoffs with a 10-6 record. They picked up LE Jack Crawford and DT Jaye Howard. Howard makes sense since Earl Mitchell is in his last year and he is already around Mitchell's talent anyway. I really don't understand the Left End pickup in Jack Crawford. They have J.J. Watt and Antonio Smith for more than 4 years each, so I'm guessing they're going to utilize him at DT too.

Tennessee: Trading up in the draft to get Brandon Weeden actually ended up being a smart move rather than a confusing one. Everyone thought the future of Tennessee was Jake Locker, but they saw even more greatness in Weeden and picked him up in the draft, being the first quarterback taken in the draft. Brandon will be starting and I will be looking at him all game and see how he does. It's going to be tough going up against Watt, Williams and Reed blitzing him all game so we will see how he handles pressure.

Prediction: I see the Texans coming away with a win. You just can't say no to Schaub, Andre Johnson, Foster, Williams, Watt and the rest of a dominating Texans team. They are just way too good, especially against a rookie quarterback.

Game Notes
Baltimore: Baltimore had a devastating Superbowl loss to the Green Bay Packers last year and are looking to shrug it off and take them back this year. They didn't do too much in the draft as they drafted two safeties in the first and second round, but only signed one. They left George Iloka behind and kept Jon Davis from Air Force. Ed Reed is looking to sign another contract but might retire soon, leaving Jon Davis ready to learn under Ed Reed in becoming the best safety he can be.

Cincinnati: Cincinnati traded tons of draft picks in the last draft, picking up 4 different people in the third round. Their best rookies coming out of preseason are FS Aaron Henry and HB Trent Richardson. After losing Cedric Benson to free agency, Trent Richardson comes in as the starter and is looking good. Aaron Henry is on the same boat as he too is also a starter. The only problem with this team right now is that Andy Dalton is hurt for three games. Bruce Gradkowski is going to have to step up and get these 3 wins.

Prediction: I actually see an upset here and find the Bengals winning the game. I feel like Trent Richardson will find out that he is playing the league's best rush defense but without Ray Lewis, the Ravens are going to find out that they need to find a new leader like him and fast to keep the team going.

Game Notes
I would say this has to be Game of the Week. The Pittsburgh Steelers go on the road to face the New England Patriots. With no key injuries, this should be a well played game. This game will end up shaking next week's power rankings as Pittsburgh is number 5 and New England is number 9 as we have a battle of the top 10 in Power Ranking. My prediction is that New England will come away with a win as Tom Brady will be close to flawless in this win, getting him closer to one more Superbowl ring for his collection. This should be a good one.

Week 1 News

Maurice Jones-Drew signs 7 Year, $58.25, $23.24M Deal. Jones-Drew is saying he is here to stay and he wants a ring. I think it might have to wait for another year though as the Jaguars have a really tough schedule ahead of them, much tougher than last year.

Game Notes
The two-time defending Superbowl Champion Green Bay Packers start their season against last year's surprise team, the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jaguars look to shock the nation once again with their incredibly tough schedule. Jones-Drew just signed a 7 year deal showing his commitment to this team. Blaine Gabbert is looking to better his touchdowns rather than his interceptions as he ended up with more INT's than TD's last season, although he was a rookie. My prediction for this game is that the Packers walk away with a win easily. Aaron Rodgers was hurt about half of the season last year and still won the Superbowl, so I feel he will start off strong this season against last year's worst pass defense. Stay tuned viewers.

Gabbert Couldn't Finish, The Pack Hold on to Win
The Green Bay Packers held off the Jacksonville Jaguars for a thrilling end. The Jags put up a good fight until the very end, even though it seemed as if they had the game completely lost. The first half was more of a stalemate ending 13-7 with Jacksonville getting the ball in the second half. Both quarterbacks did not have such a great throwing game as the running backs came in the clutch. Jones-Drew got tired and had to rest on one play, the only run for Deji Karim of the day which he made useful and scored a touchdown. Rodgers had been struggling all day throwing 2 picks, while Blaine Gabbert did even worst throwing 3, but 1 was the end of the game throw and it got picked from a hail mary. Starks had over 100 yards rushing as Jones-Drew had over 70. Cecil Shorts had a great 73 yard touchdown catch he had off of a quick slant route. Michael Floyd tied for the most receptions on his team with Marcedes Lewis, each of them had 3. Next week the Jags will go on the road to face the New England Patriots which is hard to say, but just as tough as who they had just played. They will start their game road trip there as the Packers go back home to face their rivals, the Bears.

Roethlisberger, Steelers Come Back; Hold off Patriots
In our Game of the Week, the Patriots hosted the Steelers and what a game it was. On the opening kickoff, Wes Welker ran it 82 yards then was immediately injured from a hard James Harrison hit. Reports are telling us it's a fractured foot and he will be out for 9 weeks, which is going to be hard on this team. Santana Moss filled in Welker's shoes well in the game though, catching 2 touchdowns. The Patriots went up early in the game, but with Welker out that really hurt the Pats as Big Ben and his squad ended up taking the lead and holding that lead for the rest of the game as the Steelers pulled off a tough road win to go up 1-0 for the season. Tom Brady had everything there except for his receiver. Next week the Patriots stay home to face the Jacksonville Jaguars (0-1) who are coming off a tough loss against the Packers. The Steelers will go home to face off against the Washington Redskins (1-0) who are coming off a close win against the Carolina Panthers.

Players of the Week
Offensive

Steven Jackson (St. Louis Rams): 16 Attempts, 114 Yards, 2 TD | 1 Reception, 39 Yards, TD
Anquan Boldin (Cleveland Browns): 10 Receptions, 143 Yards, TD

Defensive

Brian Orakpo (Washington Redskins): 10 Tackles, 1 TFL, 4 Sacks
Stephen Tulloch (Detroit Lions): 12 Tackles, 2 Sacks, 1 INT
