Makes me wanna do one w/ 06. This is nice. How did you find a kicker that could play HB?

I don't know if you'd consider it cheating, but when I DP'd Tennessee, they had this recruit at HB that I moved to kicker. Considering he was only a 40 overall, I left him there. When I was doing my roster for 2011, I was moving people around, seeing if they'd have better overalls at different positons. I saw he had decent speed, and his overall was a 74 as a HB. He's a senior, so I don't think I've made my team that much better in the long run, but it's a shot in the arm for this season.

After the humiliation Tennessee took, Coach Murphy and the Vols came back to Knoxville to take on the Georgia Bulldogs. Tennessee was hoping to be competitive. Early on, it looked as if they would. Georgia was getting stopped on early drives in the 1st quarter, but Tennessee was doing no better. Georgia finally broke the ice with a TD pass off of a broken Tennessee coverage from 35 yards out.

In the second, Georgia started to come on strong. The Dawgs hit upon a punt return and a long drive that ended with Georgia scoring another touchdown. Tennessee had had a couple of promising drives, but they just couldn't seem to find the endzone.

The Vols would score their only touchdown of the game in the third quarter. Tyson was notified by the coach that they were running "Drive" out of the Ace set. The top receiver ran the play and broke off and turned in at the 3 yard line. Rob Richard caught it, and managed to evade a tackle to get in the endzone. The Vols were still pretty far behind, being down by a count of 31-7.

Georgia was far more magnanimous in victory. They simply ran out the clock, and although Tennessee had lost, they had managed to stay in it for 60 minutes and compete.

Tennessee traveled to Fayetteville, Arkansas for this conference game. Up until 2001, these two teams met on an annual basis, however, with the SEC going from two locked games a season to one from the the other division , this "rivalry" has gone the way of the dinosaurs. That doesn't mean the two still don't want to beat each other.

Arkansas pounced early with their passing attack. They scored the first two touchdowns of the game, and took a 14-0 lead into the second quarter. However, Tennessee learned to fight back in the previous beatings they took, and they went to the air. Tyson's completion percentage was in the dumps, but only because of all the drops his receivers had.

Tennessee wanted to pound the ball, but Jesse Smith couldn't break through the Arkansas defense the whole night. His longest gain was only 5 yards, and he ended up averaging less than a yard per carry. Tyson wasn't exactly lighting it up either. Although he ended with 450+ yards, he threw way too many picks in the 4th quarter, that allowed Arkansas to run the score up more than they would have been able to.

Next up is Weber State, so the Vols could get back to .500 next week. However, the death penalty is still weighing heavily on the program, so it could be close.

Re: Life After Death - A Tennessee Volunteers Dynasty (NCAA 07)

TENNESSEE LOOKING FOR NEW RIVALRY GAME

AD Mike Hamilton in his Monday press conference.

The University of Tennessee announced today that they are looking for 1 OOC opponent for 2012. This OOC opponent could be a new permanent rivalry for the Vols, and could facilitate their rise back. Hamilton never mentioned a team, but there are a couple rumored.

Virginia Tech has always been considered a hypothetical rivalry for Tennessee. The defending national champions aren't but about 200 miles separated from Knoxville. They both have passionate fanbases and are both settled in the Appalachian Mountains. They also have clashing fanbases in far northeastern parts of Tennessee and far southwestern parts of Virginia. These two were rumored a few years back to have signed a deal to play a game in Bristol Motor Speedway, and break the record for most fans ever at an American football game.

The Tigers have been thrown out there as well. The two states border, and Tennessee has talked with Missouri in the past. While this might not be as natural as Virginia Tech, this is one of those games that could develop as a rivalry game.

Notre Dame is the most prestigious program in the history of the sport, and the Vols have a little history with the Irish. Back in 1991, Notre Dame was up 31-7, and Tennessee managed to come back and win with a near-miraculous 2nd half comeback. The series between these two is split at 4 a piece, and this game has always been a ratings bonanza whenever it is on. This game could be big, and since Notre Dame has been struggling the past few years, it could see both teams rise to become powers in the next few years.
