Well, I'm 24 and a lifelong Colts fan, which means the majority of my memories are Peyton Manning filled. In the end I just couldn't play a Colts franchise with out 18 as my QB. It sounds weird, I know, but I couldn't do it. I didn't see another Colts dynasty page no the first few pages, did I just overlook yours?

I'm just going to play out the remainder of his career, draft his predecessor with my 1st round pick in one of the next two or three drafts, and go from there.

Indy Defense Stifling in Win

Rookie Michael Floyd scored three times in the game

Houston, TX (AP) -- A season ago the Houston Texans defeated the Indianapolis Colts twice, by a combined score of 73-13. However, in their first 2012 encounter, with Peyton Manning healthy and under center, the Colts cruised to a 34-10 victory in Houston. While there was plenty of offensive fireworks, for the second straight game, the Colts defense was suffocating, holding the Texans to just 244 yards of total offense. Texans quarterback Matt Schaub managed to complete just 20 of his 35 passes for 181 yards. Nearly every time a Texans receiver caught a pass there was a Colts defender to meet him almost immediately.

It was the Colts fourth round pick out of Notre Dame who was the offensive star. Receiver Michael Floyd caught six passes for 71 yards and found the endzone on three separate occasions. Indianapolis has an early leg-up in the division with two wins over AFC South foes. The Colts will step out of the division as they travel to Cleveland to take on the Browns in week three.

Colts Continue Winning Ways

Rookie linebacker Nigel Bradham levels Peyton Hillis

Cleveland, OH (AP) -- For a third straight week it was the Indianapolis defense making a statement. Yes, the Browns offense isn't one to leave you shaking in your boots, but that doesn't take away from the fact the Colts defense was dominant in victory. Cleveland managed just 258 yards of total offense and the Colts All-Pro safety Antoine Bethea had two interceptions.

Peyton Manning, despite throwing another interception, looked good in his third start back from injury. Manning was 22/33 for 33 yards and threw two touchdowns on the day. Reggie Wayne had his biggest game of the young season, catching five passes for 83 yards and one score.

"It was a complete ballgame today. We played very well on both sides of the ball and things are starting to really come together. Antoine gave us something we've been lacking this year with his two interceptions. The defense has been good but not very opportunistic. We've probably dropped a couple of interceptions every game, but today we made those plays and it paid-off." -Jack Del Rio

Antoine Bethea denies Cleveland of a touchdown with an interception in the endzone.

Re: If It's Broke, Fix It! || An Indianapolis Colts Franchise (Madden 12)

Justin Another Day at the Office

Indianapolis, IN (AP) -- Chew on these numbers for a minute: -7 yards of offense, 1 first down, 3 times sacked, 4:39time-of-possession. How about the quarterback's numbers: 1/4 5 yards. Or the running-back's: 5 carries, 12 yards. That's what the Colts offense had managed with just 0:43 to play in the first. Yet, they led 14-3. How? A Kelvin Hayden returned interception 91 yards for a touchdown and a Nigel Bradham 65 yard scoop-and-score, both coming in the second quarter. The Colts made an emphasis on improving on the defensive side of the ball and, via two key off-season acquisitions, they found themselves ahead by two scores despite managing negative yardage on the offensive side of the ball in nearly one half of football. With just 0:43 remaining in the half, and in possession on their own 43 yard line, Peyton Manning completed two passes to move the ball into Miami territory. That set-up an Adam Vinatieri field-goal that gave Indy a 17-3 halftime lead.

The Colts offense would pick things up a little bit in the second half as they scored 20 points and were able to get their total yardage for the game over the 200 yard mark. Manning was very un-Manning like despite the win by completing just 14 of his 27 pass attempts for 169 yards. However, Michael Tolbert picked up the slack, carrying the ball 20 times for 121 yards, including a 40 yard touchdown run in the third quarter.

"I think it says a lot for our team. We didn't play our best game offensively but the defense was there to pick the offense up, and allowed us to stay in the game. They made plays and, as a result, our offense was able to shake off a rusty first-half and came back out in the second half and contributed to the win." -Jack Del Rio

Re: If It's Broke, Fix It! || An Indianapolis Colts Franchise (Madden 12)

Opportunistic Defense Propels Colts to 5-0

Jerraud Powers makes one of Indy's four interceptions of the game.

Buffalo, NY (AP) -- Buffalo had just returned an interception for a touchdown to turn what was once a 21-0 Colts lead into a 24-21 ballgame. On the road, against a 4-1 team, it would've been easy for the Colts to fold then and there. Instead, Peyton Manning led the offense down the field and capped-off the drive with a beautiful 24 yard touchdown strike to Dallas Clark to give the Colts a 31-21 lead. On Buffalo's very next possession, second year Colts linebacker Kavell Conner intercepted a Ryan Fitzpatrick pass and returned it 29 yards for the Colts second pick-six of the game.

A failed 4th down attempt by the Bills on the ensuing drive turned the ball back over to the Indy offense, looking to ice the game. They did just that as a steady diet of Michael Tolbert spelled doom for Buffalo's chances at a comeback. Tolbert toted the rock seven times for 49 yards on the drive, and ensured a Colts victory with a four yard touchdown run with under a minute to play in the game. A 21 point fourth quarter by Indianapolis turned what was a 24-21 tightly contested contest into a 45-21 blowout victory.

Colts Deliver Texas Sized Whooping

Kelvin Hayden celebrates after his pick-six

Indianapolis, IN (AP) -- It was three interceptions by the Colts defense, two of which were returned for a touchdown, the propelled the Colts to their sixth straight win to start the season. That marks three straight games in which the Colts defense has scored two touchdowns. And they needed it, too. For the third straight game Peyton Manning had a rough outing completing just 12 of 28 passes for 217 yards and threw one interception to go along with three touchdown passes. Manning, who started off 7/9 with three touchdowns - all to Dallas Clark - completed just five of his next nineteen passes including one interception.

"I know not everyday is going to be perfect but I'd be lying to you if I said I wasn't disappointed in myself after this stretch of games. I hold myself to much higher standards and I'm the one who's responsible for righting the ship. Fortunately our defense has picked us up when we needed them to and it's led to three straight wins." -Peyton Manning
