I figured I'd try one of these. It'll be fun writing stories and playing along, and it will also prove me trying to stick to things. Here are the settings:
Team: Minnesota Golden Gophers
Difficulty: All-American
Roster: gamingtailgate
Sliders: deagledan (posted by, unsure who author is)
Quarter Length: 8 min
We're going to start with Minnesota and see where we can go from there. I'm not going to accept any jobs with a dominate school like Ohio State, and I'm going to accept all extensions with the team I am with at the time.

Re: [NCAA 11] Golden Opportunity- Minnesota Dynasty
AP-Minneapolis-St.Paul- With the firing of Minnesota Gophers coach Tim Brewster in the middle of last year's season, the university had to decide between interim coach Jeff Horton or someone new. They made their decision today, signing a strange coach from the strangest of places, Coach Jakob Garner from Austin, Texas. Garner is quite an odd case considering he has only put on the pads once, and many were suspicious on his hiring at Westlake. Garner however, went 28-4 during his three year tenure at the high school, along with three playoff appearances, and two state semi-final losses.
"Sometimes, you're born with the mind, but not the body," Westlake AD Darren Allman spoke about Garner's sharp wit but slim 6'0", 160 lb build. "Garner was an excellent coach during his time here. I'm glad to see he's moved on."
"I think I've always wanted to be involved in football," Garner said. "But I never got into it as a kid, so the only option was coach. I'm really excited to be part of the Gopher family, and I'm hoping we can go out there and be as successful as possible."
Garner is bringing Defensive Coordinator Jackson Hirschfield from Westlake, along with a playbook based off his alma mater, Texas A&M. It will be a test for the 28 year-old, especially in the difficult Big 10 conference. Many Gophers fans look for their team be in the hunt as the 2010-11 season looms over the country.

Dawn of a New Era
Minnesota Defense Dominates Second Half, Wins 42-14
Reeves dives into the end zone after recovering a fumble in Saturday's win.
The Garner dynasty begins at Minnesota on the right foot with a win over non-conference opponent Middle Tenessee State 42-14. While the score looks like there was no problem, Minnesota struggled early on. They lost starting RB Duane Bennett in the first quarter, and after some key miscues and turnovers on offense, along with a defense that could not defend the pass, Minnesota went into the half with a red zone field goal and a lucky TD, down 10-14.
"Honestly, Middle Tennessee really took us by surprise," Junior QB Adam Weber said after the game. "We expected to cruise by, but they played hard and made us look like idiots in the first half."
Whatever Coach Garner said to his players, it worked. Minnesota owned the field during the second half, putting up 250 of their 370 yards of offense, and holding Middle Tennessee to only 73 yards. Ellestad kicked another field goal to be behind 13-14, but on the ensuing Blue Raiders drive, a bad lateral on an option play from quarterback Dwight Dasher was picked up by linebacker Spencer Reeves, who returned it 46 yards for a score to put the Gophers up 21-14 after a successful 2-point conversion.
Eskridge puts the Gopher up 35-14 in the fourth quarter
Middle Tennessee tried to answer back, but was forced to punt. The fourth quarter began with a huge 50 touchdown pass from Weber to Green to extend the lead to two scores (28-14, Minn). The Blue Raiders looked to be putting a drive together, until a costly mistake by Dasher caused Minnesota to intercept the bad pass, and the ensuing drive led to a 20 yard touchdown run by back up RB Deleon Eskridge, who received player of the game honors after filling in for the injured Bennett at the end of the first quarter.
Middle Tennessee again tried putting a drive together, but after two consecutive sacks of seven yards by the Gophers D-Line on third and fourth downs, all Minnesota had to do was run the clock down. Or score again, off a two yard run by Eskridge.
From there, it was just kill the clock as the game ended with the final score 42-14, Golden Gophers.
"I couldn't have asked for a more successful start to my first college game," Garner said at the post-game press conference. "While the first half was a tad shaky, they really tore it up the second. We just need to get the rest of the rust out of our joints, and we'll be ready for next weekend."
Minnesota takes on the North Dakota Fighting Sioux (FCS W) next Saturday in Minneapolis.
