Mr. Stumpf picks up Alabama and throws the hat into the crowd saying "No thanks to Mr. Saban". That leaves three hats left its going down to the wire with dark horse Rutgers still in the chase. Mr.Stumpf picks up the Rutgers hat and fakes throwing it into the crowd then puts it on his head there it is it's Rutgers......Mr. Stumpf comments" Coach Schiano was here when everyone else wasn't and he followed my whole high school career and to reward his faith in me I chose Rutgers, GO RU". Chants of RU ,RU,RU erupt in the crowd as New Jersey's top Running back is staying home. Well, that was a suprising move as most pundits had Alabama locked in as his top choice. That is all from Middletown N.J. Erin Andrews out back to the studio."

"After HB Stumpf got the news he was 3rd on the HB depth chart to start spring it sent a humbling message to the rising star on campus. Coach Schiano on the decision to start him 3rd; "I felt he was coming in with such fanfare that he needed a signal that the starting job won't be handed to him on a silver plater and all his high school accolades mean nothing now he has to prove himself to every team member and to every coach on the staff. I have no worries starting the season with Sophmore M.Jones and Senior(RS) R.Lynch splitting the carries until Stumpf proves he is worthy of moving up the depth chart." Seems like our freshman phenom will have some work to do to see any playing time during week 1 vs Hampton a FCS school.

"Stumpf did make progress in the spring practices and scrimmage and is challenging Senior (RS) R.Lynch for playing time and for the 2nd string spot. The season opens today as (0-0) Rutgers plays FCS Foe Hampton at home in Piscataway NJ. Hopefully the game won't be close and we might get to see Stumpf in a play or two."

There was a sighting of our subject D.Stumpf as he got in his first snap in the 4th Quartr with Rutgers up comfy 48-0 but he was used as a decoy on a handoff to the WR. Well no highlights here and this weeks stats follow."
