Re: Changing the NFL Landscape: An Atlanta Bandits Dynasty

Bandits Lose a Heartbreaker in Tampa

The two minute warning could barely be heard over the crowd noise of Raymond James Stadium.

Terrelle Pryor stood at the Tampa Bay 5 yard line still trailing by 14, the very next play he rifled a touchdown to Robert You, the score became 24-17.

With 1:51 and 3 timeouts, the Bandits elected to kick it deep. After stopping LeGarrette Blount on first down and calling timeout, Blount broke off a huge gain into the Bandits 30 yard line, thankfully he was pushed out of bounds.

With two timeouts left Blount stalled on first, second and third down. Leaving Connor Barth with a 41 yd FG to effectively end the game. With 40 seconds on the clock Barth missed wide left.

Pryor took over and launched a 58 yard bomb to You, they hurried to the line and O'Hara snapped the ball to Pryor, just as he found his man Pryor took a sack. With the clock still going the Bandits got one more play off before time expired. Pryor threw a ball for his tight end Cumberland, it was swatted by the safety, game over.

"It was a very painful way to end the game" said Pryor "It hurts the most when you come this close."

The Bandits lost Devine and Maroney, and turned to Kory Sheets in the 4th quarter, his only carry went for 13 yards.

"We are learning the value of having depth at running back" said Head Coach Jonah Vaughn, "when we lose a guy another one can step up."

Nickle corner Jeremy Ware was also injured, he will miss 5 weeks with a broken collarbone.

"The hardest part was watching on the sideline knowing I couldn't do anything about it" said halfback Noel Devine, "I wanted to get back on the field."

The Bandits return to action next week at Seattle.

Bandits Make Adjustments at Cornerback and Wide Reciever

In lieu of the loss of corner Jeremy Ware, GM Jonah Vaughn has added corner Perrish Cox for more depth.

"Cox is very similar to Ware" said Vaughn "Very fast, but still needs to polish his game."

"Even though it seems temporary I'll be happy to contribute however I can" said Cox "I'll fill in wherever coach needs me"

The Bandits also dropped wide receiver Derrick Williams at added the rookie wide recover Jerrel Jernigan, the former Troy Trojan will look to contribute to a Bandits passing attack that was stellar in week 2.

"Jerrel is a very shifty route runner" said quarterback Terrelle Pryor. "He just has a knack for getting open."

Tatupu looking for revenge at Seattle

After not being able to negotiate a contract with the Seahawks, Bandit's middle linebacker Lofa Tatupu decided to test the free agent waters. Only one team would bite at him.

"Atlanta has become a new home for me" said Tatupu. "I love this organization."

There is no denying Tatupu has emerged as the defenses leader, the 3 time pro bowler is the teams leading tackler.

"It's been a great year for me but stats are meaningless unless we start winning games" said Tatupu.

The Bandits will travel to Seattle this week, and Tatupu will attempt to defeat his former team.

Re: Changing the NFL Landscape: An Atlanta Bandits Dynasty

Repeat Performance, Bandits Once Again Lose 24-17, This Time to Seattle

It was eerily similar to the Tampa Bay game.

Down 24-10, Terrelle Pryor once again drove down the field and connected with Robert You for the touchdown, unfortunately the story stops here. The Bandits wouldn't get the ball again until there were 20 seconds left on the clock, leaving Pryor no chance of completing the comeback.

The David Garrard led Seahawks proved too much for the Bandits, Garrard himself contributed with 250 yards and 3 touchdowns.

New cornerback Perrish Cox had a terrific game, the youngster was signed to fill in at nickle corner. He had 8 total tackles and an interception to his credit.

Noel Devine had his best game of the year, reeling off 129 yards on 17 carries.

Still it was all in vain, as the Bandits lost their third straight road game, the team is looking to correct the ship next week against the defending Super Bowl champs.

"Green Bay is a scary team, they have so many weapons on offense" commented Jonah Vaughn, "but I feel like we match up well against them."

New Additions Rodgers-Cromartie and Miller Prepare for Green Bay

"I'll admit I was skeptical the Bandits could succeed."

These words are coming out of the Domique Rodgers-Cromartie's mouth, the cornerback learned the potential of the Bandits firsthand when they beat his Eagles in week 2.

"That loss was a real eye opener, this team is poised to compete with anyone" said Rodgers-Cromartie.

Former Jacksonville Jaguar Zack Miller will also be making his first start as a Bandit on Sunday.

"I am glad to have a change of scenery and am already beginning to feel comfortable around the team" said Miller.

The Bandits will square off against the defending Super Bowl champion Green Bay Packers on Sunday. The Bandits currently sit at 1-3 while the Packers and 3-1.
