Game Notes
The Jaguars stay home this week to welcome Peyton Manning and the undefeated Colts. Both teams have started strong and look to continue that trend this week. The Colts are without the oft injured SS Bob Sanders and their young LB Phillip Wheeler but they have Peyton which is all that matters. The Jags are hoping Rashean Mathis can continue his hot early starts and add to his 4 INTs and they will look to Maurice Jones-Drew to carry the offense in what is sure to be a shootout in front of a small crowd.

Series Record: 15-7 Colts

OT Drama In Jacksonville

The AFC South is off to an incredibly hot start. The Titans, Colts, and Jaguars all entered Sunday undefeated. Both the Colts and Jags wanted to stay that way and both came to play in front of another small Jaguar crowd. The Jacksonville secondary has struggled this season at containing teams passing game especially in the first half where teams are almost perfect on 3rd downs. That continued Sunday as Peyton Manning torched the Jags secondary for over 400 yds. On the Jaguars first possession they moved the ball but were unable to convert a third down forcing a punt. The Adam Podlesh punt was downed at the 4 yd line and a holding call on Indianapolis pushed it to the 2 yd line. But Manning was unfazed as the Colts went 98 yds culminating in a 5 yd TD run by Donald Brown. The Colts added another TD early in the 2nd quarter on a Manning pass to FB Robinson for 3 yds to give the Colts an early 14-0 lead. Manning completed his first 9 passes as the Jags struggled to contain the gunslinger. The Jags would strike though before the half ended. Maurice Jones-Drew added to his impressive early season numbers with a 2 yd TD run with 0:54 seconds left in the half to cut the Colts lead in half to 14-7.

Jacksonville continued the comeback thanks to a big 3rd down conversion by Mike Sims-Walker. The #1 WR received criticism this week for his comments about not being more involved in the offense. It turned out that his comments were heard as he caught 4 passes for 90 yds and a TD. After Sims-Walker's big 3rd down conversion, the Jags would let Maurice Jones-Drew carry the team to the goaline where FB Greg Jones punched it in from 1 yd out to make it a 14-14 affair. The Colts tacked on an Adam Vinatieri FG to finish the scoring in the 4th and take a 17-14 lead into the final period.

Things got real wild in the 4th as a total of 31 pts were scored between the two teams. First Maurice Jones-Drew opened the quarter with a Sportcenter Top 10 45 yd TD run where he absolutely broke Colts SS Melvin Bullitt's ankles on a juke move on his way to the score to give the Jags the 21-17 lead. Then Manning came back quickly with a 7 yd TD pass to rookie Giguere. The Jags then scored only 1:25 later as Mike Sims-Walker caught a slant pass and then left a man grasping for air on a spin move and sprinted 53 yds for the TD making the game 28-24. The Jags then extended their lead to 31-24 on a long 48 yd FG by Scobee. It was time again for Manning to lead a 4th quarter comeback drive and that's exactly what he did. Finding Wayne, Gonzalez, and Garcon throughout the drive the Colts moved the ball deep into Jag territory and with 46 seconds left in the game, Manning hit Austin Collie for the game tying 11 yd TD pass. 31-31. The Jaguars almost gave the game away as attempting to get in field position late, Garrard would hit Mike Thomas for a first down pass. The young WR would fumble though and the Colts would recover and find themselves in great field position but somehow the Jags D would stand tall and the game would head into OT.

Jacksonville won the toss but did absolutely nothing with their possession. Indianapolis then took over and went to work. This time letting Addai and Brown pound the ball on a worn out Jaguar defense. Manning would hit a few key 3rd down conversions and all of a sudden the Colts were in prime field goal position to let "Automatic Adam" move them to 4-0 on the season. It was a 39 yd FG, easily within Viniatieri's range. The snap and hold were good but the kick was far from it as shockingly "Automatic Adam" pushed the kick right and missed. The Colts bench was shocked while the Jags bench erupted. They still had a chance and so they let Maurice Jones-Drew do the dirty work as he pounded through a tired Colts defense. Garrard hit Sims-Walker late in the drive for a crucial conversion and then it was Scobee's turn to be the hero. The snap was good, the hold was good, and the kick was even better as Scobee knocked through the 36 yd FG and sent the Colts home losers

Re: Madden 11: Jacksonville Jaguare Franchise

Big QB Trade Move

A very interesting and big move was made between the Cardinals and Bengals today. They have come to terms to an agreement that will send QB Carson Palmer from the Bengals to the Cardinals for QB Matt Leinart and a 2nd round draft pick. The 2nd round pick could become a 1st rounder if Palmer leads the Cardinals to the playoffs this season. This move comes as a bit of a surprise however Palmer has made it clear he does not want to be a Bengal anymore and the Arizona front office is not happy with where Leinart is in his development. Both teams have crawled out of the gates with a 1-3 start so some kind of shakeup was needed. Only time will tell if this extreme of a shakeup was a good idea or not

Re: Madden 11: Jacksonville Jaguare Franchise

Kiper's Top 5 TE's

*Each week I will be giving a preview of the top 5 players at each position in the upcoming class

1.) Weslye Saunders 6'5" 270 lbs (South Carolina)
- It is not exactly a stacked draft when it comes to TE but there is definitely a clear leader at this position. Saunders is the nice combination of size and athleticism. He has the room to grow into a very sold NFL tight end. Look for him to go somewhere in the 2nd or at worse early 3rd

2.) Zack Pianalto 6'4" 250 lbs (North Carolina)
- The dropoff behind Saunders his pretty steep. Pianalto is not expected to be picked up till the 4th unless someone really needs a TE earlier. Pianalto is a well rounded TE that is not elite at any one thing but solid at many. The big concern is the injury bug as he failed to go a season without missing some time with injuries. That might scare some teams from picking him up and he could fall in the draft

3) Luke Stocker 6'6" 253 lbs (Tennessee)
- Stocker is a very solid pass catching tight end. He was used quite frequently in 2010 by Tyler Bray. He however needs to work on his blocking if he wants to be an NFL tight end. He also lacks the speed burst needed to get good separation in the NFL. He will be a late round pick but could contribute as a #2 TE for a team willing to develop him

4.) Allen Reisner 6'3" 248 lbs (Iowa)
- Reisner is the best blocking TE in this class. He doesn't have a huge frame but he does have some very good strength. He however doesn't posses the greatest hands and wasn't used very much in the passing game. Will most likely be picked up late in the draft

5.) Jordan Cameron 6'5" 235 lbs (USC)
- Cameron is the most interesting prospect at this position. He possess outstanding athleticism and has the raw physical tools to be a very good TE. However he has very little meaningful experience at the position as 2010 was his only real season of contribution for the Trojans. He might get picked up earlier than expected if a team thinks they can develop him into a more talented TE

NEXT WEEK: Top 5 OTs

Game Notes
This is a matchup of two AFC teams going in the opposite directions. The Jaguars visit Buffalo coming off an impressive OT win over the Colts to stay undefeated. Meanwhile the Bills are on a 3 game losing streak. The Bills have decided to change up the RB rotation moving rookie HB C.J. Spiller all the way to #3 and bumping Fred Jackson up to #1 with Lynch staying as the #2 option in hopes of finding some kind of spark for the anemic rushing attack. If Trent Edwards doesn't improve the Fitzpatrick might take over for him as well. This is a game the Jags should win and might regret if they don't

Jags Blast Bills

The Jacksonville Jaguars may be the worst first quarter team in the league. However they have to be the best 4th quarter team and that continued Sunday where the Jaguars fell behind 6-0 early in the game then went on to outscore Buffalo 37-3 to get the 37-9 victory. Ever since his public comments about not getting the ball Mike Sims-Walker has caught 8 passes for 186 yds and 2 TDs in the last 2 games. Rashean Mathis continued his hot early start with 2 INTs taking one all the way back for a TD. That gives Mathis 5 picks on the season which is easily first in the league.

It wasn't all good for Jacksonville as their star HB Maurice Jones-Drew broke his thumb in the 3rd quarter knocking him out for at least 2 weeks. Jones-Drew leads the NFL in rushing yds (726), rushing TDs (8), rushing avg (6.1), and yds per game (145.2). This is big loss as next week Jacksonville hosts undefeated Tennessee in EverBank Stadium for a very important AFC South matchup.
