Re: Madden 11: Jacksonville Jaguare Franchise

Kiper's Top 5 OT's

*Each week I will be giving a preview of the top 5 players at each position in the upcoming class

1.) James Carpenter 6'5" 300 lbs (Alabama)
- Carpenter is an absolute load at 6'5" 300 lbs. He has surprisingly good movement for such a big man. He played LT at Alabama last season but might be a better option for some teams at RT or at least while he develops. Look for Carpenter to fall somewhere in the first 15 picks

2.) Demarcus Love 6'5" 315 lbs
- Love played LT in college but he is being projected as a RT in the NFL. Love is a great run blocker with outstanding balance and strength. He however struggled at times in pass protection against the talented pass rushers of the SEC. He could move inside to guard if needed but will probably start off at RT. Love should go somewhere in the mid to late first round

3) Bo Thran 6'5" 281 lbs (Oregon)
- A bit undersized at 281, Thran makes up for it in athleticism. Thran is a hardworking lineman that shows great patience in pass protection and is quick off the snap. He however his footwork is a bit questionable and some wonder if how high his ceiling is. Thran though might end up being taken late in round 1 but for sure somewhere in round 2

4.) Marcus Gilbert 6'5" 320 lbs (Florida)
- Gilbert is one of the most experienced lineman in this draft as he has played or started most every game since becoming a Gator. He is very versatile to where he can play a number of position along the line. With his big frame he can develop into an NFL LT. Gilbert could be a guy grabbed late in the first or fall to mid 2nd depending on how impressive of a combine he has

5.) Anthony Castonzo 6'7" 308 lbs (Boston College)
- Just like Gilbert, Anthony Gastonzo has been a contributor since first stepping on campus. He has a nice large frame and moves well for such a big kid. Scouts would like to see him put on some more weight to fill out that 6'7" frame but Castonzo should hear his name in the 2nd round and give a team a nice young prospect to develop

Game Notes
This is a very important early season AFC South matchup. The Titans fell for the first time all season last week when they got walloped in Jerryworld 43-10 by the Cowboys. The Jags stayed undefeated after beating down the Bills. It would've been a matchup between two of the best RBs in the NFL but Jones-Drew is out with a broken thumb suffered last weekend against Buffalo. Instead the Titans with Chris Johnson should hold the edge on the ground. The question is can anyone stop this Jaguar team in the 4th quarter

Series Record: 20-15 Titans

Re: Madden 11: Jacksonville Jaguare Franchise

Another Game Another Big Jag 4th Quarter

This is starting to get downright ridiculous. Once again the undefeated Jacksonville Jaguars fell behind early, this time 17-0, only to put together a huge 4th quarter to get the win. The Tennessee Titans (4-2) looked unstoppable in the first half when they leaped to a 17-7 lead heading into the half. Chris Johnson shredded the Jaguar defense in the first quarter earning two TDs on runs of 57 yds and 1 yd. Rob Bironas tacked on a 21 yd FG early in the 2nd to make the lead 17. Then the star of the Jaguar defense this season, Rashean Mathis, stepped up again. The Titans were on the move again when Vince Young would attempt to throw a comeback pass to Kenny Britt. However Britt was late breaking and Mathis was there for his 6th interception on the season. That play seemed to be the changing point in the game as Young never quite looked comfortable again. The Jagaurs took advantage of the turnover driving all the way inside the redzone where Maurice Jones-Drew's replacement Rashad Jennings pounded it in from 2 yds out.

The 3rd quarter saw only a 29 yd FG by Scobee after a fumble recovery by Tyson Alualu who had 2 on the day. Both defenses were getting pressure on the QBs and neither running game was effective. However that all changed in the 4th. Another interception by Young once again lead to a Jagaur TD and started the 24 pt 4th qtr offensive explosion by Jacksonville. David Garrard took over the 4th finding Mike Sims-Walker behind coverage for a 24 yd TD and tie the game up at 17-17. A third interception thrown by Young, this one picked off by dime corner Scott Starks, started another Jacksonville TD drive. This time Garrard hit backup TE Ernest Wilford from 12 yds out for the go ahead TD. The Jags made it 31-17 at the 2:52 mark on a Garrard pass to Mike Thomas. It was Thomas's first TD reception of the season and Garrard's first 3 TD game of the year. The Titans tacked on a garbage time TD to Nate Washington and Scobee kicked another FG to put the final at 34-24.

The Jaguars now have a 2 game lead over the 4-2 Titans and Colts. The Jags are also the only undefeated team left in the NFL. They hit the road next week when the travel to Arrowhead Stadium to take on the 3-2 Kansas City Chiefs. They will still be without MJD but as seen Sunday they can win without him

Re: Madden 11: Jacksonville Jaguare Franchise

Kiper's Top 5 OG's

*Each week I will be giving a preview of the top 5 players at each position in the upcoming class

1.) Chris Stewart 6'5" 351 lbs (Notre Dame)
- Stewart leads a pretty solid guard class in the 2011 draft class. He is a gigantic human being at 351 lbs but he moves well enough to be a mauling run blocker. There are some pass blocking concerns but overall Stewart looks ready to play in the NFL now. He will be a sure first round draft pick and most likely the first guard off the board

2.) Carl Johnson 6'5" 355 lbs (Florida)
- Another mauler, Johnson brings some physicality to the inside. With his great size and ability he has a chance to break into a starting role pretty early. He needs some footwork issues to be cleared up but that won't stop him from being a late first round or early 2nd round choice

3) Stefan Wisniewski 6'3" 306 lbs (Penn State)
- Stefan is not as big as the earlier profiled guards but he is just as physical and nasty. He is a hard worker that has had a very productive career as a Nittany Lion finishing his career as a first team All-American. Wisniewski will most likely be an early 2nd round selection unless guard is a big need in this draft

4.) Bryant Browning 6'4" 313 lbs (Ohio State)
- The next two guys could be interchanged easily. Browning is a big man that specializes in pass protection inside. He needs to get a little more physical in the run game but overall he has some very good abilities. Look for Bryant to go in the 2nd round

5.) Kevin Sapien 6'4" 286 lbs (Boise State)
- The reason Browning was given the edge over Sapien was Browning's size and level of competition. At Boise State Sapien did not have to face the level of skill at the DL position as Browning did Ohio State but that doesn't mean he can't play. Sapien is a very talented man inside who has a great understanding for what it takes to be a offensive guard. He too will most likely be gone in the 2nd round in a round that is sure to feature quite a few OL picks

NEXT WEEK: Top 5 C's
