After losing 4 straight head coach Ken Whisenhunt has pulled Kevin Kolb and is giving John Skelton the start while the 49ers look to improve to 4-0 in the NFC West division
The Cardinals shocked the nation on Sunday by taking out division opponent San Francisco in overtime. John Skelton played very well in his first start of the season. He looked like a veteran Quarterback at times, picking apart the #1 ranked San Francisco defense. His go to guy was rookie Michael Floyd, who ended the day with 7 receptions for 83 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Things were looking bad for the Cardinals in the 4th quarter. After Aldon Smith of the 49ers returned a Ryan Williams fumble 47 yards for the score in the 3rd quarter the Cardinals couldn't get the ball rolling on offense again. Then, in the closing minutes of the 4th quarter John Skelton led his team down into the redzone, which allowed for Jay Feely to chip in the short field goal as time expired. It took two possessions in overtime, but Skelton again led his team into field goal range and Jay Feely kicked in the game winner from 37 yards out.
The win is the Cardinals 4th of the season, all of which have been against their division. It also breaks the Cardinals 4 game losing streak.
