2012-13 Season Preview

After coming off a disappointing 9-4 season, the Florida State Seminoles start off the season ranked #8 in the nation. Lead by returning starter and captain quarterback EJ Manuel, the Seminoles look to make a splash in not only the ACC, but also the BCS.

However, what could really end up hurting them come bowl season is their relatively weak schedule, in and out of conference. Their first two games are against FCS teams in Murray State and Savannah State. Their out of conference schedule is round up by a match-up with USF, and their yearly encounter with rival Florida.

As for their conference, they really don't have many tough opponents, other than Virginia Tech and Clemson, although there are some who believe Miami, Virginia, and Maryland also could play spoiler in the conference.

Overall, this season looks to be a promising one for the Seminoles, but their lack of competition in their conference, mixed with a cupcake out of conference schedule, could end up costing them a BCS National Title bid, even if they go undefeated.
