Thank! Week #3 should be a dandy with the Bama-Arkansas game and the Notre Dame-Mich.State game.

As for FIU, Duke and Akron we're beatable team from my level of play, so I wouldn't say the sliders are too easy yet. If I'm rolling that easily against UCF, UL-Lafayette and Arkansas State, then I'll have to look for change.

Thanks for following!

Re: FIU Panthers : Coaching career of Frank Beaule

Kiss them good Knights!

Miami Herald – September 15th 2012

The Golden Panthers, coming off 2 wins against weaker opponents we’re looking at a tougher task against the UCF Knights. UCF was 2-0, opening their season at home and the crowd was pumped up. All of that last around 15 minutes while the Golden Panthers played their best football of the season, running all over the Knights and leaving the place with a spectacular 31-3 win.

“If it looked easy to you, it’s because the execution was perfect. The O-Line was masterful while Hargrett and Rhodes we’re simply dominant. You also saw that E.J. Hilliard is getting confident in the passing game. The clicking with Younger, Times and Wright is just growing and Hilliard is better every weeks he play.” explained the HC.

Since the start of the season, the Defense seems to play second role in the talking surrounding the team. In this one, they made life miserable for HB Murray and QB Bortles. Bortles looked confused and helpless while poor Murray had face full of Hunt and Fraser all game long. They only bad news on defense was the loss of Cheeseborough, who’s going to be out for the next two weeks.

The Golden Panthers are 3-0 and if everything looks perfect so far, there’s a man on the sideline who’s far than happy with not playing. Since being injured, QB J. Medlock didn’t saw the field, and the sophomore isn’t happy with the situation. Head Coach Beaule wouldn’t speak publicly about the situation: “its internal matter and I won’t talk about players’ situation with the media. If a guy is unhappy about his role or playing time, my office door always open. I’ll sit down, talk, explain and try to understand my player. I’ll leave it at that.”

FIU schedule wasn’t supposed to be easier starting with UCF, Louisville, UL-Lafayette and Arkansas State (#19). Not wanting to see too far ahead, the Coach still relinquishes the opportunity to face stronger opponents and make his players learn in the process: “It’s good for the team, it’s good for the guys and it’s good for the program. It’s fun winning, but at one point, facing tougher opponents is a must if you want to improve overall. Facing Louisville won’t be an easy game, but after seeing players react toward UCF, I’m pretty excited with this one."

Re: FIU Panthers : Coaching career of Frank Beaule

Getting the good Cards!

Miami Herald – September 22nd 2012

A lengthy drive to start the game and coming off with only 3 points to start the game got the Golden Panthers a bit nervous when Louisville offense took the field. Then, CB Miller, doing what he does best since start of the season, picked off W. Stein first pass attempt, run it back for a pick six to put a frenzy in the stands. Panthers, playing another strong and balanced game on offense, won their 4th straight, beating Louisville 37-20.

“The score don’t show the reality in this one. We had a good start and taking a 10 point lead just to see them march down the field for 6. I saw that our guys we’re just more and more nervous. When Louisville closes the game to 17-14 in the second, I was looking for an answer from someone. I had a veteran stepping up and delivered the blow.” said coach Beaule speaking of Kedrick Rhodes Jr.

Rhodes Jr. was spectacular running the ball, finishing with 120 yards on 22 carries. For once this season, he managed not getting injured and proved he was the feature back of this team. On the other side of the ball, another veteran was up to the task. Winston Fraser 9 tackles and interception at a key moment in the 4th quarter was huge. On the ensuing drive, Hilliard found Younger for the score, giving FIU a 37-14 and making a comeback less than probable.

“It’s a win, but there are a lot of things we have to work on before facing UL-Lafayette. I’m not pleased at all with our passing defense. Neither am I with the lack of focus and penalties taken by the offensive line. Seems like every guy is taking its turn on the penalty department each game. We’ll work on that.”

The Ragin’ Cajuns are coming to town, leading the Sun Belt Conference and yet to lose a game. It should be an interesting matchup since not many saw these two teams unbeaten for their week #5 matchup. Running game should be in tough with the Golden Panthers 1st against the run while Ragin’ Cajuns are ranked 3rd in the country.
