I had a similar issue end of year one in my dynasty. What I did was choose to sim to the end of the season, and while it was going through the first week of simming I hit b to cancel. It stopped at the next week, and I haven't had any issues since.

I'd say give that a try.

That works until you get to the end of the season(championship week), then you're s.o.l. It won't advance.
