Last Minute Ravens FG Beats Defending NFL Champions

This was a great game between two elite teams. Both teams played well and it came right down to the wire. Very fun to watch.

New York took a big risk early on, as they ran a fake punt of their first drive. They were able to convert, but had to punt it for real just 3 plays later. That entire first quarter was the truest form of a "feeling out" process. Neither team was able to score and both defenses were in firm control.

Baltimore's offense had a pretty good day, despite giving up 6 sacks and Flacco's 2 interceptions. Joe threw for 278 and a TD to Torrey Smith. Ray Rice inched ever closer to the single season rushing record wit his 77 yards. Rice also put a TD on the board.

The defense was able to record 3 more sacks, which brings the team's season total to 50, they have really been getting after the QB this season. They weren't able to force any turnovers, but they did allow just the one TD in this one, which is excellent defensive play.

Next week is the last one of the regular season. Baltimore will be finishing the same way they started, by facing off against the Cincinnati Bengals. Let's see if the Ravens can avenge the loss from week 1.

Re: Run This Town - Baltimore Ravens Dynasty (M13)

Ravens Dismantle Bengals to End Record-Setting Season

It was a great way to end the regular season. Avenge the early season loss and set some records while you're at it!

I can't go any further without mentioning Ray Rice. This season, he solidified himself as one of, if not THE best running back in the NFL. He rushed for 81 yards and a touchdown in this game and on his TD run, he eclipsed Eric Dickerson's single season rushing yards record. Rice set the new record at 2,118 yards. What an amazing season, and an amazing career this young man has had to this point.

The Ravens also set the franchise record for best regular season W-L record at 14-2. The previous record was 13-3, set back in 2006.

Not much more to speak of on either side of the ball. Baltimore played this game fairly conservatively to preserve their starters for the post-season. Speaking of starters, WR Anquan Boldin, who went out on injury a few weeks back will be ready for the Divisional round.

The Ravens get a week off to rest, practice, and watch the first round. The NFL playoffs are now underway!

Re: Run This Town - Baltimore Ravens Dynasty (M13)

Ray Rice's Late TD Carries Baltimore Over Oakland

The entire city of Baltimore knew that this divisional playoff game would not be an easy one. Oakland came into this one with a one point win on the road last week at Denver and wanted to avenge the regular season loss to Baltimore. Well, the Raiders came incredibly close to doing just that, but it just was not to be. Ray Rice made sure of that.

Rice put on possibly his best performance of the season, as he ran for 127 yards and 3 touchdowns, one of which was the game winner. Joe Flacco was able to overcome his two early interceptions to throw for 324 yards and 2 touchdowns. Anquan Boldin had a big game in his return from injury, catching 8 passes for 110 yards and a touchdown.

The defense had difficulty stopping Oakland's running game. McFadden had 84 yards before he left the game with an injury. His backup, Goodson ran for 102 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries. He really caught the Ravens by surprise.

It was a great game, possibly one of the best in playoffs history!

Next stop, the AFC Championship game!
