The Good-

Texas Tech- is looking to be the favored match up here. With a Senior QB Seth Doege with over 4000 passing yards last year watch him to pass through this week secondary.

Fresno State- They have a solid running back in Robbie Rouse who is 93 overall. With an anchor at center, Richard Helepiko, who is 83 overall. Watch them to run the ball most of the night. Texas Tech is going to have to stop them hard at the line and make them throw to their young WR crew.


The Bad-

Texas Tech- I would say it has to be the LE of their defense. Starting a true freshman in Michael Starts. Look for him to get pounded all game.

Fresno State- Again it has to be the secondary. With an explosive offense of Texas Tech they are definitely going to have to keep the ball in front of them.

Fresno Gives the Red Raiders a Scare-



Douglas inintercepts the ball for a 68 yard pick 6.

What a nail biter from Lubbock Texas! With a 24-0 lead going into half the Red Raiders thought they had the win. Defensively they were firing on all cylinders. With 4 interceptions and a pick 6 the game was more then put away. But Fresno has something to say about it. Milton Knox broke a 69 yard touchdown late in the 4th quarter to start a comeback. After a long stalled drive Texas Tech had to punt the ball. With the ball on the 5 yard line the Bulldogs drive down the field to score with 3:18 seconds left. The very next play the recover an onside kick. Drive down the field and score with 1:53 seconds left. Coach decided to throw Javon Bell in on the onside kick. He recovered the ball from the onside recovery and sealed the game for the Raiders.

Game ball goes to Javon Bell. 4 receptions 118 yards 1 touchdown and an onside recovery.

Injury Report-

Starting QB Seth Doege went down in the 2nd quarter on his shoulder. When returning to the game in the 2nd half his arm was in a sling. It is reported that he separated his shoulder and will be out 3-5 weeks.

The Good-

Texas Tech- TT should be able to dominate them on all sides of the ball. With a senior wide receiver Javon Bell, they should be able to blow this game out of the water. I foresee them getting a lot of pressure on the QB with the front 7 on defense. Only thing that is going against them is that star QB Seth Doege is still out with his shoulder injury.


Texas State- The Bobcats are going to need to strike early if they want to stay in this one. With throwing over 300 yards their first game, they need to get going fast and score.


The Bad-

Texas Tech- The Red Raiders are ranked 104th in the nation in rushing. They need to be able to control the clock by their run game.

Texas State- Defensively Texas State needs to pick up, sitting at 110th in total defense. The front 7 needs to pressure the inexperienced Brewer and try to get some turnovers.
