Re: Quest to Rebuild the Year '72 - Miami Dolphins CCM M13
Rookies Meet! Luck Shines, Tannehill Wins! "Our defense as of late has played outstanding. Although our pass-coverage needs some refining, out production on defense is as sharp as its been in weeks. Our offense also limited mistakes, although fumbles have become a problem to our running backs as of late, and they will have many penalties in the future for the continuous fumbling problems." Luck and Tannehill both starting rookie QBs faced off today, and both played well. Tannehill although not putting up huge stats, never put the Dolphins in trouble, and made short easy passes to help the run game out. Luck; however, did shine and chalked up the Miami pass defense for almost 400 yards and 2 100-yard receivers. Luck however was sacked numerous times and fumbled twice leading to quick scores by the Dolphins. The Dolphins had a huge start by stopping the Colts and Ginn took over with a 54 yard punt return breaking 2 tackles and outrunning the punter to score the first points of the game. Seconds later, Luck was driving the field but was sacked hard by Dansby fumbling the ball to the ground, leading again to a Dolphins' score; a 8-yard pass from Tannehill to Bess. Indianapolis drove the field, but came up short trying to stuff it up the middle 3 times, all being forced backwards; Vinatieri hit a chip shot from 26 yards out. The Dolphins didn't wait much longer scoring with 22 seconds left in the half; Tannehill hit Bess again on a 9 yard curl route in the endzone. Miami forced a second fumble from Luck, of which resulted in a long field goal try by Carpenter; 52 yards. Vinatieri struck back with another chip shot from 28 yards out after the Dolphins held strong at the goal line again. Right before halftime Luck hit Walker on a short 6 yard slant pattern to put this game at only an 11 point advantage for the visiting Dolphins. Miami though started the 2nd half off strong, after punting the Colts inside their 10; the Dolphins gang-tackled running back, Brown in the endzone for a safety and a minute later Bush scored from 2 yards out. His only score of the day. Vinatieri and Carpenter traded field goals in the final quarter, and Luck hit his star receiver Wayne in the corner with 1:32 to play in the game.
Other Notes: The Dolphins racked up 9 sacks on Luck. Around the League Matthew Stafford returned this week. Cameron Wake won Defensive Player of the Week last week after a 5 tackle, 3 sack, and 1 fumble recovery game. TEN DT J. Casey leads all AFC in Pro-Bowl voting with 938K.

Re: Quest to Rebuild the Year '72 - Miami Dolphins CCM M13
Defenses take the night off; Dolphins win 48-41! "I am very displeased with our performance today. At every position in the game, we played awful. We played awful in all situations... Allowing 41 points is a main point of emphasis in the future practices. Also having 6 turnovers is awful! I am just displeased with everything." The defenses took the night off and the Dolphins offense did as well. With 6 turnovers and allowing 41 points, their was no reason the Dolphins should have won the game. The Titans (1-9) played well defensively, but offense was their Achilles Heel. Altogether the play of both teams was atrocious. Tennessee started off on the first play of scrimmage, Hasselbeck hit Britt on a 74 yard touchdown pass. Carpenter then hit a 27 yarder. Tennessee then punted and Ginn muffed the punt, Ayers picked it up and ran it in for the TD. Tannehill in the start of the second, hit Heap for a 52 yarder. Tennessee quickly scored again on a 20 yard run by Reynaud. Tannehill struck again this time to Hartline on a 39 yard post pattern. Slaton finished off the half with a 9 yard run by Slaton. Slaton was huge in the game, after Reggie Bush left the game with a broken hand. Tannehill hit Bess to start the 2nd half on a 55 yard go route. Bironas hit a 22 yard field goal with 2:34 left in the 3rd. The fourth quarter was one of a scoring fiasco. 34 points in the quarter and Miami with 2 long plays. Tennessee's Cook scored off a 8 yard pass, then Miami struck three times; a 76 yard reception by Hartline, a 45 yard field goal by Carpenter, and a 67 yard run by Slaton. Tennessee then finished off the game with a 39 yard field goal and a Reynaud 19 yard run.
Other Notes: Miami signed LOLB J. Trusnik to a one year $700K deal. Miami also signed CB S. Smith to a 4 year $17.6M deal. Last edited by BGPurples3; 12-31-2012 at 02:22 AM. |

Re: Quest to Rebuild the Year '72 - Miami Dolphins CCM M13
Dolphins comeback comes up short, lose 27-30! "I am very pleased with the effort our guys gave. I am; however, disappointed in the amount of turnovers we have had over these last few games. These 5 turnovers today are very excruciating, 4 of them being fumbles... Our team needs to focus more on ball security, and hopefully I believe we can find a fix." Steve Slaton has many fumbles on the season, and adds two more after this game. Although he is in the top 10 in yards and touchdowns, yet is also leading the NFL in fumbles. The Dolphins also are the worst in the NFL in turnover differential... The Dolphins are still tops in their division at the record of 6-4. The game started off slow, but eventually Buffalo drove the field and McIntyre broke free for a 5 yard run to the endzone giving the Bills a 7-0 lead. Going into the 2nd quarter, Miami drove the field yet again; however, this time they didn't fumble, but did come up a little short and had to settle for a 29 yard field goal. Slaton's late fumble in the 2nd quarter also was a buster, as Lindell hit a 23 yard field goal, Buffalo took an early 7 point lead going into half. To start the 3rd quarter, the Dolphins' Carpenter and the Bills' Lindell both traded field goals... The Dolphins then traded punts and then Tannehill hit Hartline on a 25 yard corner pattern to tie the game with a 1:05 left in the 3rd. Fitzpatrick then hit M. Clayton on a long 63 yard pass, which led to a touchdown to S. Johnson to take the lead back going into the 4th quarter. Buffalo started to run away with the game as they hit a short field goal, but picked off Tannehill and took it 97 yards to the house; N. Barnett with the INT. Miami was not done though. Slaton scored twice in the next five minutes, but with only one timeout left couldn't convert on the onside kick and Buffalo kneeled the clock out to take the game at home.

QB: Jordan Parks - Easily the top QB in the class that is weak in that area. This Michigan State QB has led his team to an undefeated season thus far. Jay Macon - A gem in the rough, a top target for the Dolphins; as they look for a backup to Tannehill. His physical mechanics are off the charts, as they look to be tops in the class. WR: - Curtis Thomas - Another gem in the rough as he shows the physical characteristics that have analysts comparing him to Calvin Johnson. His 6'3 221 pound statue is one that allows him to dominate the college environment. TE: - Both Darone Griffin & Markeith Martin are top tight-ends that the Dolphins have their eyes on. Miami is looking for that TE that will lead to the great production of Tannehill. OL: - Miami is looking for a tackle opposite of Long, and that can be found in the college stars of Tyson Jimerson, Taylor Bodkin, and Shannon Jackson. They are also looking for a run blocker in the middle and Eric Hill looks to be the best option from the Dolphins point of view. OLB - Miami is looking for some youth at linebacker and they know that Dansby is getting older and their other linebackers aren't top caliber. Ontarius Smith, Oliver Isaac, London Wright, Jamal Gause, Max Jay, and Kris Scott are all legitimate options for building some depth. The Miami Dolphins will host Seattle (4-5-1) in hopes of keeping the lead in the AFC East. |

I love the stories, I love the layout, but I don't know about your slider set. Something seems off but I can't put a finger to it. The scores and stats just don't seem real to me.

Re: Quest to Rebuild the Year '72 - Miami Dolphins CCM M13
Miami erases 15 point deficit, hits game-winning field goal as time expires! "Again, fumbles are a very large issue at hand. We must hold onto the ball as we have turned the ball over way too much in the past few weeks. Luckily we have come up and won most of those games, because our defense was stellar over the past weeks." Although Miami has taken the outright lead in the AFC East, they lost their starting safety Clemons for the year with a torn tricep. Miami's already below-average pass-defense will take a huge hit with the loss of Clemons, Renfro stated that they will try many different rotations to find the right guy to replace him. The game in Miami started off with the Seahawks taking advantage of the turnovers by the Dolphins. Miami turned the ball over on their first two possessions and the Hawks responded! Turbin breaks a three yard run into the endzone on 3rd and goal, and Russell Wilson hits Baldwin in the back of the endzone for another quick score, putting the game at 14-0. Miami's punter, who is the running for punter of the year, drilled a perfect corner punt placing the Seahawks on their 5 yard line.. 2 plays later, Wilson was sacked in the back of the endzone giving the Dolphins their first points of the ball-game. The game stalled at that score until the Dolphins running back Miller lost a fumble on Miami's 15 yard line, his first of three on the day. Seattle hit a chip shot field goal to put them up 15. The second half was a head-scratcher for the Seahawks as their offense stalled out and their defense gave up some big plays. Miami's Miller drove in from 2 yards to get the game into a one possession game. Then with 1:53 left in the game, Tannehill hit Ginn on a corner route on 3rd and 15 to put them in Seahawks territory, only to score on the ensuing play; a 29 yard pass from Tannehill to Bess. Miami forced a three-and-out by the Seahawks playing for the win, and Miami drilled a 29 yard field goal as time expired giving them their 11th point in the final 1:40 of the game.
