 October 13 , 2012 - 10:45 AM By Jimmy Durand | St Paul Pioneer Press MinnTech has signed their second recruit landing another local prospect Matt Douglas out of Bloomington Jefferson High School. Douglas is the top kicking prospect in the state of Minnesota. Douglas was recruited by UL, ISU, Iowa and MINN but an early scholarship offer from MinnTech landed the recruit for the Marauders. This is the second in state recruit that MinnTech has landed this year on a team whose pipeline is rooted in the heart of the Mid-American Conference. If this is a sign of things to come rival University of Minnesota, whose team is primarily stocked with the best in state talent, better take notice as the well of talent in Minnesota is not very deep.  MinnTech battling key injuries as #13 Kent State comes to St. Paul October 26, 2012 - 9:00 AM ET By Patrick Newsey | ESPN.com The #13 team in the nation, Kent State, will head into St. Paul looking for an easy win against the nations #92 ranked defense. This was also the case earlier this season when the at the time #23 NIU came to St. Paul only to get upset by the Marauders. One glaring difference is the absence of MinnTech quarterback Jasper Lee. Lee suffered what team doctors are calling a "Strained Back" in the second half of of last week's loss against Toledo and his probability of playing tomorrow is very low. Lee is the Marauders offense and as Lee has gone this season so have the Marauders. MinnTech is also without one of Lee's go to targets in tight end Stafford McCauley who is sidelined with a Discloated Elbow (4 weeks). Kent State will be without halfback Dri Archer who is out 2 weeks with a dislocated elbow. Kent State is coming off of some impressive games against BCS ranked teams including an upset of #7 Notre Dame. Their only loss this season was to #19 Cincinnati. MinnTech will have a tall task in keeping up with Kent State this Saturday but with Jasper Lee on the sidelines the task just got taller.
