Panthers sign Farrior - The Carolina Panthers have shored up the middle of their defense, signing former Steelers linebacker James Farrior to a 1 year deal.

Browns give Garrard a go - Cleveland inked David Garrard to a one year $3.3 million deal. Garrard will serve as a back-up and mentor to Browns rookie QB Brandon Weeden.

Jets add to backfield - In a trade with the Pittsburgh Steelers the New York Jets added depth to their backfield by acquiring Isaac Redman who gained 479 yards on 110 carries last season.

Eagles part with Patterson - The Philadelphia Eagles have agreed to trade DT Mike Patterson to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

34-31 win over Lions improves Ravens to 1-1 in pre-season

BALTIMORE -- Joe Flacco and Anquan Boldin appeared in midseason form once again but the Baltimore Ravens defense is still in preseason mode.

For the second straight game the Ravens first TD of the game came courtesy Flacco and Boldin.

Flacco went 5 for 7 for 50 yards in the first quarter.

"We got into a little bit of a rhythm," Flacco said. "When we kind of figured out what they were doing, we went out and executed."

Ray Rice played only three series, gaining 60 yards on ten carries.

"You're not going to peak real early, it's August," Baltimore coach John Harbaugh said, when asked why the defense struggled in the game. "We're growing in some areas. We're not doing everything we're going to do."

For the second straight game the Ravens lost two defensive back-ups. Free Safety Sean Considine will be out 3-5 weeks with a dislocated knee cap and outside linebacker Albert McClellan will miss 4-6 weeks with a knee cartilage tear.

Cards continue to add weapons - After trading for James Jones most experts thought Arizona was done making moves, they were not. The Cardinals signed tight end Jeremy Shockey to a one year deal.

Chiefs sign veteran McNabb - In perhaps the most unexpected move so far this pre-season the Kansas City Chiefs signed free agent QB Donovan McNabb. The former Eagles, Vikings, and Redskins QB may be the opening day starter in K.C. if neither Matt Cassell or Brady Quinn can earn the job.

Ravens Pre-Season Wrap-Up

After starting the pre-season with a 1-1 record the Baltimore Ravens finished up the final two pre-season games with a 31-17 loss to Jacksonville and a 41-34 win over St. Louis. The Ravens managed to escape the final two games with no additional injuries.
