I will be posting game recaps on this dynasty page along with depth charts, season stats, and recruiting information. I have found a formula for running the triple-option effectively in this game, and ran an entire season with Army before starting over here just to get a feel for it. I learned a few things, and even watched game film of countless Army drives to get a sense for the play-calling.

My custom offensive playbook includes a mixture of Flexbone, Wingbone, and Wishbone formations. I have eliminated the HB Counter plays and any Toss plays (besides HB Sweep) because the blocking schemes for those plays are broken in the game, and never result in positive yardage due to unrealistic reasons.

My custom defensive playbook is an attempt to mimic the "Double Eagle Flex" defense run by Army in real-life. While it is compared mostly to the "46" defense, the game runs it better (with personnel amongst other things) as a "4-2-5". All of the formations have most of the defensive players close to the line of scrimmage. It is an aggressive defense with a lot of exotic blitzes.

Steelman Scores 2 TDs in Army Loss to SDSU

The Black Knights went into halftime with the game tied 14-14, but couldn't keep their momentum going into the 2nd half. QB Trent Steelman rushed for 167 yards and 2 TDs, but most of his success came in the 1st half. Turnovers also plagued Army in this game, turning the ball over 3 times.

Army (0-1) will head home to face Northern Illinois (1-0, 0-0) at Michie Stadium next Saturday. They are certainly not favored in this game, and fans simply hope the Black Knights can keep the game close.
