Re: Vikings CCM

Man, these running QBs are being nasty.

And AP down? Ouch...

Maybe you can get Ponder going...or a HB will step up until AP gets back.

Yeah I like the challenge, Gerhart has been struggling as of late. Post results against the cardinals.

Re: Vikings CCM

VIKINGS FALL TO ARIZONA 20-13!

Minneapolis, MIN - Another poor day on the offense yet again. Vikings looked horribly against the cards, they had Percy back in the offense. Even he couldn't make a difference in the game. Running game was at a minimum due to trailing the whole game. Great defense by Arizona they had plan and they executed it to perfection. They caused 3 turnovers in the game which lead to 17 points.

Vikings pass game was non existent. Ponder was well protected all game, Arizona disguised their defense very well. Percy came back from his injury he looked good running his routes. Open many of time through out the game , Ponder for his second week in a row can't make the throws. Ponder turned over the ball twice this game one to a interception over the middle, and the other was a on scramble. Vikings have scouted some QB's this years draft.

Running game was held its lowest yards of the season. We couldn't do what we wanted to do because we were trailing. Todman just had one carry this game, he may have a chance at the starting job. Gerhart fumbled the ball in the 3rd quarter which eventually led to a Cardinals touchdown.

Defense played average day, they were not spectacular nor terrible. They allowed Arizona to run the ball pretty much at will. Cardinals offensive line won in the trenches, Vikings couldn't get any kind of penetration all game.

Pass defense was pretty good, they shut down Larry Fitzgerald. Vikings of coursed blitzed and came away with a bit of sacks against Skelton. Giving up just 150 yards in the air believe was the best all season. Skelton did play a good game against us, we took our chances on doubling Fitzgerald all game.

Arizona's LB Daryl Washington played an excellent game; Recording 3 TKL, 1FFM, 2FREC, 1 TD

Another hard day in the office. Vikings need to find ways to win or they will be on the couch watching the playoffs. Ponder had another terrible showing, and Gerhart continues to show us he can't fill the starting job. We will address these problems ASAP, and continue to scout offensive players. We did lose rookie FS H.Smith and rookie WR J.Wright, more news to come.

Rookie wide receiver J.Wright was having an okay season. Numbers through 6 games 18 catches 208 yards 11.6 average 2 touchdowns.

Re: Vikings CCM

Todman's first career start
Todman's two touchdown day helps win over the Tampa bay Buccaneers 28-12.

Minneapolis, MINN - Many people question the coaching staff, as they named J.Todman the starter. Many wondered how this kid would do as a starter while AP is out on injury. Well he put up and outstanding day running the ball. Vikings defense harassed Josh Freeman all game long. This game came down who could move the ball in the air. Both teams had great day on the ground, well over 300 yards on the ground total combined. Vikings passing game was better due to their line blocking better.

Ponder took two steps forward. After having two back to back terrible games, he brushed it off and played well. He connected many time with his best receiver Percy Harvin's which one was a touchdown. He also connecte with new wide receiver Steve Smith with his second touchdown in the 2nd half. Maybe this game will boost his confidence up for the coming up weeks.

Todman got his frist career start and played fantastic. His two touchdown day helped this offense production. Running has been slow since the injury to Peterson, today was a different day. He will continue to get the start till AP is healthy to return.

offensively, we looked pretty damn good compared the previous two weeks. It's not where we want it to be, we will continue to get better each week. We have a huge game against the Seattle Seahawks. It's not easy playing at Century Link Field by any means.

Defensively, we looked great against the pass. Our pass rush made Josh Freeman uneasy in the pocket, making inaccurate throws all game long. Four sacks is great number to have, Robison is having a lights out season. I was not at all happy with our run defense this game. Tampa punched us in the face all game. We need to focus on next game against Marshawn "Beast mode" Lynch if we want to win against Seahawks next week.

Re: Vikings CCM

Mid season news and stats from around the league.

Top Stories
Pro Bowl voting begins - Get your ballots ready, Pro Bowl voting begins this week.
308 Yards! - Unheralded HB Roy Helu Jr. set a new standard for rushing yards in a game today with a 308 yard output.
Putting the league on notice - Brian Orakpo took no prisoners this week en route to NFC defensive player of the week honors.
Weekly honors handed out to Z.Diles - Zat Diles was giving Week 8 AFC defensive player of the week honors for his performance.
R.Helu Jr. Caps off memorable week - There was simply no stopping Roy Helu Jr. this week, and now he'll get to put an NFC offensive player of the week award in his trophy case.
Offensive onslaught - It's a fitting end to the week for Ben Roethlisberger following an impressive on-field performance. He has won the AFC offensive player of the week award.
Step it up - Scouts are questioning Missouri WR Tyrell Prendergast's toughness as he has slowed down considerably after a hot start.
Defensive Debilitator - Jordan Todman ran for 2 TD's during the Vikings 28-12 win over the Buccaneers.
Cutting to the front of the line - Wide Receiver Steve Smith has agreed to sign a 1-year contract worth $1.5m with the Vikings.

Talk around the league.
Who expected Roy Helu Jr. to break the singe game rushing record. Last record holder was Adrian Peterson with 296 yards in 2007 season, which was broken today by 8 yards. I wouldn't expect it from him who is just an average running back at best. For this guy to put up this kind of numbers has to inspired many young running backs in the league. This day will always be remembered for years to come!
