A fourth quarter rally.
Ponder & Harvin connects on two touchdowns late in the 4th quarter win over Seahawks 19-18.
Seattle, WA - Many had though that this game would be a tough hard hitting game. Century Link Field the loudest stadium in the NFL, which made it tough for the Vikings.
The game began with Seattle winning the toss and elected to receive. First possession they went to Marshawn Lynch, with effective running led to a play action over the middle for a large gain. With that catch put Seattle in red zone territory. Vikings defense would hold up and only allow three points.
Vikings first possession started out really good, they went with the running game 5 straight plays. Vikings would get across to Seattle side of the field but only to punt the ball away.
second quarter both teams were able to move the ball, only to come away with just two field goals a piece. This was a classic hard hitting first half with the score 9-6 favorable to Seattle at half time.
Vikings received the ball in the beginning of the third quarter. Offense could move the ball, then would stall leading to more punts. Seattle would strike again with another field goal. Vikings was moving the ball till, running back Todman fumbles the ball on the Seatthe side of the field.
fourth quarter was crazy. Seattle finally punched in a touchdown, 14 yard touchdown run by Lynch. Score was 18-6 with just over four minutes left of the game (failed 2pt conversion).
Vikings knew they were in 4 down situation till they put up points and in a hurry. Vikings received the ball just over 4 minutes left of the game, starting on the 25 yard line. Ponder who couldn't do much against this stingy pass defense all game, would complete a few passes. 3rd and 4 Ponder checks out of current play and makes a few audibles. Ponder would find a wide open Percy Harvin streaking down the field connected with a 68 yard touchdown. Score is now 18-13 just over 2 minutes left of the game.
Vikings would stop Seattle to a three and out, a holding penalty called against Seattle hurt them. Minnesota now has the ball under 2 minutes at their own 46 yard line. With great field advantage, Ponder took advantage of that and connected again with Harvin. Minnesota went for a 2pt conversion only to get a holding call, and fail to convert 19-18 score with less than 60 seconds left.
Seahawks moved the ball on the Minnesota's side, a crucial holding penalty was called against Seattle. That put them at the 50 yard line, next play was intercepted by Bowman to end the game 19-18 final score.
Summary - Christian Ponder would rally his team from a come behind win with over 4 minutes left. Defense held strong at the end of the game and sealed the win. A win like that in a hostile and loud environment was great.
Minnesota at 5-4 helped their chances on making the playoffs win over Seattle. Bears would go on the road to lose to the Tennessee Titans 24-17. Vikings are just 1 game behind NFC defending Champions Green Bay Packers.

Nice win! Intense game. McKenzie with back to back 12 tackle games? Star in the making with him. The irony that Harvin got two touchdowns to beat the Seahawks, who he actually got traded to haha.
Breezes past the Detroit Lions.
Defense plays lights out, 3 interceptions on the day. Vikings moves on to be 6-4 on the season.
Minneapolis, MIN - Last time they matched up in week 3, Lions took that game. This was a totally different game than we seen in the previous time these two teams matched up. Adrian Peterson would make an apprearance after being injured for seven games, split carries with Todman.
1st half
First quarter Vikings took the ball at the Lions 21 yard line. First play they give the ball to Peterson for a 8 yard gain, next play peterson for 6 yards. Thing's started to look good. After a 40 yard drive the offense would stall and punt the ball away.
Lions would move the ball through the air with ease. Stafford would not face any kind of pressure, plenty of time to progress through his reads. After a descent drive Minnesota would stop them for a field goal.
Next Vikings pursuing drive would lead to another punt and frustration. The quarter would end with the score of 3-0 Lions.
2nd quarter Lions would start with the ball. They had a hard time moving the ball, they were not having any success at running the ball. Vikings where ready to stop the run and defend the pass. Stafford finally was experiencing pressure, that would lead to inaccurate passes. Defense couldn't stop Vikings rushing attack, and would eventually put 8 men in the box. They did force a fumble against Todman, but the offense wouldn't score.
2nd quarter was different for the Vikings. They would gain momentum as the quarter went on. The offense started to click and was moving the ball with ease. Peterson was rushing a staggering 5.9 yards a carry in the first half. Eventually the Lions would put 8 men in the box, which left Smith one on one on the outside that lead a long touchdown catch. Defense would finally get pressure on stafford and wouldn't allow him to pick them apart. At half time the score was 10-3 Vikings.
2nd half
Lions would start with the ball in the 2nd half. Their offense would struggle again in the 3rd, only scoring 3 points again to the stingy Vikings defense. You would see Stafford yelling at some of his players, as he was getting frustrated. Stafford through 3 interceptions in the 2nd half of the game and was sacked 3 times. Stafford suffered an injury that would keep him out for the rest of the game. Shaun Hill steps in we knew what he did last time he stepped in. Well Shaun Hill did it again, torching Vikings defense throwing 2 touchdowns after being down by 25 points. He only missed one pass and brought them back to 31-20 final score. Seems like when Hill steps in Vikings have no answer for him.
Offensively the Vikings was dominant, scoring 14 points in the second half. Ponder would find Harvin and Smth again for touchdowns. Ponder looked really really good this game, thanks to Adrian Peterson running the ball. Speaking of Adrain Peterson after missing 7 games he would return with 115 rushing yards on the the day. Best performance Vikings has shown all year long.
Defensively looked unbeatable, forcing 3 interceptions which McKenzie took one to the house. Forcing Stafford to make bad decisions was key, four sacks on the day against Lions offensive line. For some reason Minnesota had no answer against Hill this season. Lions would score in a hurry, which they got an onside recover and the defense was already tired. Other than the quick 14 points late in the 4th quarter im sure Coach Thompson isn't too worried about that.

Read through this from the beginning, great job so far, will definitely be following. The AP injury sucked. I did a Lions CCM after Madden 13 came out and lost Calvin for the whole season. That pretty much ended my season right there, so yeah, I know how that goes.
Hopefully you can make a push for the playoffs and continue to get solid play from Ponder. You looking at drafting a RB to back up AP or are you going to try FA for that? Might not hurt to have the insurance, Toby is okay, but he's kinda slow, which isn't really a fit for the Vikings, IMO.
By the way, thanks for serving our country. I salute you.
Nice win! Intense game. McKenzie with back to back 12 tackle games? Star in the making with him.
Yeah he is playing really well second in the league in tackles behind Z.Diles. He just recorded his 3rd straight game in double digit tackles, and came away with a interception for a score!

Hey thanks for following me , I will look through the draft I believe for a RB. The way Steve smith is playing for us I might not draft a WR in the first round.
Thanks for your support!

Offense continues to be hot
Vikings offense produced 453 yards, win over divisional rival Chicago Bears 38-21.
Chicago, IL - Vikings had time to rest and prepare from their bye week. Vikings continue to score points. Minnesota got hot in the end of the second quarter and onto second half.
Offensively Minnesota struggled through the first quarter, they soon to catch fire in the end of second quarter. Chicago would score 21 points, which Forte scored twice on the ground. it looked as if the Bears would run away at the time. In the second half Vikings lit up the Bears offensively and defensively. Minnesota is on a hot streak and now has three wins in a row, making a huge push for the playoffs.
With over 4 minutes of the second quarter Vikings began to move the ball. Ponder would find Harvin for a 28 yard touchdown pass with 1:59 left of the half.
Chicago next possession looked horrible, Cutler was sacked then next play was a 2 yard gain in the air. 3-13 yards to go Cutler tried to sling the ball down the middle only to get picked off.
Vikings would have great field position sitting on Chicago's 45 yard line. With short field position and 1:25 seconds left on the clock, Vikings were in no rush. Ponder who has played well this season looked great leading Vikings to another, Ponder ran for a 9 yard touchdown with :03 left of the half. Vikings would score 14 points unanswered in just over four minutes.
Second half was all Minnesota. First drive of the third quarter Vikings again would score another touchdown from Todman 2 yard scamper. Defense did not allow a score in the third.
4th quarter again Vikings continue with uncontainable offense, scoring not just one but two times. On a 3 down and 6 to go pinned on their own 10 yard line, Peterson bounced to the outside and got a huge block from Percy Harvin down field for a 90 yard run for a TD. The very next drive for Minnesota, Ponder play action hits Harvin's on stride for a 77 yard pass for a touchdown.
Defensively Vikings would struggle against the run in the first half. Giving up over 100 yards on the ground to Forte alone. They played well against Cutler getting a turnover in the first half. Second half was a completely different game, they would stop Matt Forte to 20 yards rushing and sacked Cutler a few time. They did get another interception at the end of the game to seal the deal.
Vikings did have a hard time holding on to the ball, they fumbled 5 times luckily just one was lost.
