Shepard celebrates after after throwing his first touchdown
Kansas City -- Head Coach Doug Marrone offense looked in mid-season form as the Buffalo Bills defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 41-34 in both team preseason opener.
Incumbent quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick played the entire 1st quarter and went 7-10 for 78 yards a 1 td. "Ryan played well in his limited time on the field, said Coach Marrone. "He could have had a few more touchdowns if it wasn't for C.J finishing off some of those drives."
C.J Spiller found the endzone three times as he finished with 84 yards on13 carries. "It felt great to actually get out there and play man, said Spiller. Last year i rarely got to run the ball. But this year Coach Marrone has given me a chance and I'm not gonna waste it."
Number one overall pick Konnor Shepard didn't disappoint in his debut going 14-20 for 182 yards, 1 TD, and 1 INT.
Post game Coach Marrone announced that Shepard will start the second preseason game against the Miami Dolphins and Fitzpatrick will be the backup. Below is the Bills full stats from their preseason win.
