Peyton Manning has been the face of this franchise for over 10 years. Peyton was sidelined after having surgery on his neck for the 2011 season. Colts faced their worst record in quite some time going 2-14 on the season. Owner of the Indianapolis Colts Robert Irsay wasn't sure what Peyton manning could do after surgery on his neck. Colts and Peyton Manning decided to part ways and Peyton tested the Free Agency. Wouldn't be much longer before Peyton signed a contract with the Denver Broncos.

Indianapolis Colts with the first overall pick in the 2012 draft, Colts selected Andrew Luck from Stanford. The two time runner up for the Heisman in 2010 & 2011 season. His senior season he recorded 3,517 yards 37 TD 10 INT 71% completions. He is also a very mobile quarterback that can get himself out of trouble, his senior year he didn't rely on his legs as he developed more a QB.

Quote:
We are very excited to get this kid into training camp, we have a very young offense.
Coach Thompson said in his press conference.

Quote:
We knew that we were going after Andrew Luck, we did consider Heisman winner RGIII. We talked about all the pro and cons of both QB's, after hours in the office we knew that Luck was a perfect fit for this team.I thought we had the best draft class this season, we mainly focused on getting a core for Andrew Luck.
Coach Thompson said during his press conference

I will simulate the first season and head straight to the offseason. Ill post records, superbowl winner, awards, and team statistics.

2012 recap

Many of fan didn't know what to expect out of the Indianapolis Colts this season. Many projected 4-6 wins for them, but that suddenly changed as Luck took the field.

Luck had a amazing season for a rookie quarterback in 2012. He lead the Indianapolis Colts to a 9-7 record and a spot in the playoffs. Coming into this season Luck was looked as a pro level quarterback right off the bat, and boy did he show what he is capable of. Colts don't have the greatest wide receiver core, just Reggie Wayne at 31 year vet and rookie T.Y. Hilton draft this year. Luck received Offensive Rookie Of The Year, finished ninth in MVP ballot and second in AFC Best Quarterback, and second in Offensive Player Of The Year behind Roethlisberger. What a season Luck had for a rookie quarterback it's unheard of in the NFL with great success in the pros.

Season stats 92.4 QBR 4,034 yards 33 TD 12 INT 339/565 60%

Rushing the ball this season was a successful one. Indianapolis rushed over a 2,000 yards as a team on the season. Ballard a break out year this season rushing over 1,000 yards on the season and double digit rushing touchdowns. Back up D.Brown played a key role also in the rushing attack, posting up over 500 yards on the season and 4 touchdowns. Having a good rushing attack helps Luck in the passing game, keeping him from running the ball. When we were able to run the ball teams would cheat up to stop it, Luck would see mismatch and take full advantage of that this season.

Season stats

V.Ballard 228 attempts 1,345 yards 4.7 average 10 touchdowns
D.Brown 142 attempts 528 yards 3.7 average 4 touchdowns
A.Luck 52 attempts 107 yards 2.1 average

Receivers this year were outstanding. They knew that weren't the greatest core in the world. What they did have was chemistry, Vet Reggie Wayne showed young rookie T.Y. Hilton what it takes to be great in this league. Hilton flourished his rookie year, almost reached the 1,000 yard mark. Slot receiver Avery was a big impact on the season as well, grabbing over 50 balls this year Reggie Wayne was the biggest impact on the offense this year, taking T.Y. Hilton, Avery under his wing. If Reggie wasn't here it would be hard to say would Luck would have done this year. Rookie TE C.Fleener was another outstanding rookie this year, grabbing over 50 balls on the season. It seemed when Luck needed someone to be opened on a crucial down it was Fleener finding the gabs. Solid year for this young receiving core.

Season Stats

T.Hilton 73 receptions 938 yards 12.8 average 5 TD 67.0 AVG.G
R.Wayne 69 receptions 974 yards 14.1 average 9 TD 74.9 AVG.G
D.Avery 56 receptions 756 yards 13.5 average 8 TD 47.3 AVG.G
C.Fleener 53 receptions 441 yards 8.3 average 1 TD 27.6 AVG.G

Defense was a beast this year, many teams would struggle on offense against the number two defense. Many people around the NFL wouldn't rank this defense near the top 15 in this league. Once again Indianapolis played with heart. This defense is about speed and power lead by D.Freeney who is great leader for this team. Colts would force the most fumbles this year by 2 next to Texans. Hopefully this defense can put us far into the playoffs this year.

Season stats

K.Conner 110 TAK 3 TFL 2 sacks 2 INT
R.Mathis 87 TAK 4 TFL 4 sacks 1 INT
P.Angerer 79 TAK 5 TFL 5 sacks 2 INT
D.Freeney 65 TAK 8 TFL 7 sacks 0 INT
J.Powers 59 TAK 0 TFL 0 sacks 2 INT
