Buccs Free Agent Signings

After the win over the Detroit Lions, Tampa received word that Vincent Jackson will be out for a few weeks with a broken thumb. Immediately they went looking at the Free Agent list to see who was available.

They did sign Wide Receiver Julian Edelman a four year vet out of Kent State. They signed him for more depth at the wide receiver position. And they signed six year vet Ted Ginn for special teams purposes.

A tale of two halfs.
Doug "Muscle Hamster" Martin rushes for 112 yards and two scores, win over the New York Giants.

Neither team could get anything going on offense. Giants went a different way on offense, they only passed the ball 3 times in the first half of the ball game. They had success pounding the ball against the front seven of Tampa's defense, very odd to see this type of game plan with you have Eli at QB. Tampa would surrender one touchdown in the first half, a 16 yard screen pass to Hillis. Tampa Bay couldn't sustain a drive at all other than a 65 yard drive for a field goal. First half score was 7-3 Giants up over the Buccaneers.

second half was a completely different story. Tampa came out with confidence and came out with a 80 yard drive, Josh Freeman connected with newly wide receiver J.Edelman for a 16 yard touchdown. Score is now tied at 10-10. Very first possession Giants stormed back with a field goal, Peyton Hillis busted out a 44 yard gain on the ground. Giants reclaim the lead 13-10 lead, next possession Buccaneers drove the ball down the Gaints 28 yard line. On a 2nd down and 7 to go Josh Freeman tried to make a play with his feet, but only to fumble the ball from the hit from behind and Giants recover. The quarter would end at with score 13-10 Giants winning. Fourth quarter Buccaneers rose up and dominated the Giants. Doug martin would rush for two rushing touchdowns and Freeman would throw key completion to keep the clocking running. Tampa defense dominated in the 2nd half, only allowing Giants first possession for a field goal they kept Giants from crossing the 50 yard line.

Re: A two told story Dynasty | Raiders & Bucs CCM M13

Vittatoe is no captain clutch

The Oakland Raiders headed into week 2 against there division foe Denver Broncos. Following a win vs the Chargers could the Raiders start off 2-0? We pick it up late in second QT Manning drop back and throws a INT to Owusu-Ansah.

The Raiders would get the ball back on there 40 yard line. After converting a 3rd and 6th on an draw play the Raiders score the very next play. Vittatoe would find Juron Criner for his 1st career TD catch on a fade route. Coach Dennis Allen had some words to say about the TD pass here's what he said.

Quote:
Vittatoe stood strong in the pocket that play. His first look was suppose to be Pitta but Criner got great separation. Vittatoe made it look exactly like what we worked on in practice.
After being shut out the 1st QT the Broncos would finally get on the board. Manning would find his favorite target Demaryius Thomas 1 on 1 with rookie Brandon Thomas. Manning would look the safety off and throw a 57 yard heave for the TD. The ball sailed perfectly over Brandon and Manning showed once again why he's one of the great QB's.

3rd QT would be that off an wild one. With the Raiders power running attack working they find themselves within 1 yard away from a TD. SS Melvin Bullet would come in clean and wrap up veteran Cadillac Williams and the Raiders settled for a FG. After trading 3 and out's the Raiders find themselves with the ball back.

QB Trevor Vittaoe would take a Ray Lewis type hit from MLB Joe Mays. Vittatoe would fumble and Dumervil would swoop in for the TD.Now with the game 14-13 the Broncos had all the momentum. The Raiders offense looked depleted and Vittatoe looked like a shaken QB.

After a failed 3rd and 1 play the Raiders would punt the ball. Now with the momentum the Broncos looked to ice the game in the 4th QT. They would score 3 straight field goals and leave the Raiders wondering if they can win.Raiders come down and settle for a FG now leaving the game 23-16 in favor of the Broncos.

Raiders defense would stop the Broncos and get the ball back with 4 minutes remaining. Vittatoe would get picked off on the first play from under center by MLB Zac Diles. Raiders d would save the say again stopping the Broncos on and 4th and inches play to get the ball back.

Now with the ball and a little under a minute left Vittatoe started finding his rhythm. Hitting key 3rd down after the third down the Raiders had hope down 7. Melvin Bullet would snatch any of that making a leaping 1 hand INT to ice the game.

Vittatoe would commit 3 turnovers in the final 15 minutes of the game. Starting with his fumble with a minute left in 3rd then 2 INT in the span of 3 minutes. What we learned from this game is what we been knew that Vittatoe is still young and learning. Hopefully he learns from this game and doesn't let this game crumble his young and promising career. The Raiders have another tough game as they face the Chicago Bears see you there.

Re: A two told story Dynasty | Raiders & Bucs CCM M13

Tampa's offense continues to be hot
Tampa gains 512 total offensive yards against Carolina, score 40-13. Tampa suffers 3 major injuries in today's game.

Top performer

Josh Freeman played another brilliant game. He started hot right off the bat, hitting Williams on a play action pass for a 76 yard touchdown. From their he didn't miss a beat almost all game. In the fourth quarter he did through a interception to John Beason who made a incredible play on the ball. That would be only fault in his game today. He threw 3 touchdowns in a winning effort, two of em were to Williams and the other one to rookie tightend J.Linder. Tampa Bay and Josh Freeman are in talks about his new contract, depending how he looks through the half of the season will determine if he stays in Tampa.

Runningbacks
With the duo of Doug Martin and Isaac Redman is a very lethal weapon this year. Martin has found his groove these past two weeks, rushing for 100 yards and scoring 3 touchdowns. Martin was contain this game in the fist half of the game, until third quarter when he ran straight up the gut of the Carolina's defense for a 69 yard touchdown run. He would finish up the day due to injury with 22 carries 133 yards and a touchdown. Backup Redman has been nothing but a great back for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this season. Redman rushing yards this is 143 yards in 3 games as a backup. He stepped in for injured Doug Martin who didn't return rushed for 71 yards on 14 carries. Redman will start next week game for injured Martin.

WR/TE
Mike Williams has stepped up since week one, when the press called him out for nothing giving effort on his routes. Last two weeks has recorded 2 consecutive 100 yard days. Week 3 against the Panthers he recorded 6 catches 137 yards and 2 touchdowns. Rookie tight end Jacorius Linder is having a fine rookie campaign this year. He caught 5 catches 35 yards and his first career touchdown in today's game. Freeman and Linder are developing a great relationship and it showing on the field this season.

Tampa's pass defense
Is looking strong this season, since week one they have allowed over 100 yards per game through the air. They aren't particularly not intercepting the ball, their pass rushing has been dominate. Cam Newton didn't have a pro bowl type game, throwing 168 yard which 51 of it came from a blown coverage late in the fourth quarter. Cam did get intercepted by M.Barron in the fourth quarter.

Poor performance
Buccaneers rush defense has struggled these two past weeks. Giving up over 100 yards to the Giants only to do it worse against the Panthers 183 yards. Tampa's front seven got punched several times in the snot box in today's game. Maybe it's time to drop Barron more into the box to stop the rushing attack.

Re: A two told story Dynasty | Raiders & Bucs CCM M13

First loss of the season.
Buccs struggle all game long, Cutler sinks the ship as they defeat Undefeated Tampa Bay Buccaneers 31-20.

Tampa Bay went on the road to Chicago, IL @Soldiers Field to take on the Bears.

The Bears took no time on scoring in the fist quarter, Cutler connected with his first touchdown to Devin Hester. Second possession Buccaneers would turnover the ball, rookie runningback Baltimore fumbles the ball Lance Briggs recovers the ball and goes in for a touchdown. Buccaneers are down 14-0 with 2 minutes in the 2nd QTR. Finally Buccs got a drive together and would put up 3 points. Bears were not satisfied with a 11 points lead, Culter found his FB J.Lane for a 6 yard touchdown.

Third quarter was pretty much a quite quarter, Bears would tack on another 3 points to put them up by 21 points. Freeman did threw a pass to A.Benn over threw him and was picked off by FS H.Abdullah. Buccaneers seem to get away from their meat and potatoes which was the running game.

Josh Freeman started to a make a run for a comeback. Early in the fourth quarter Redman rushed for a touchdown. Red hot Cutler would be stopped for a three and out, Buccs next possession put up 3 more points. Now we have a game at 24-13 with over 7 minutes left of the game. Cutler and his offense took the field determined to put the game away. And that's what they exactly did, once again Cutler was slicing up Tampa's pass defense, which has been particular good this season. E.Weems caught a 5 yard touchdown pass from Jay Cuter (his third of the game). That left Tampa with no chance of winning, Redman did run his second touchdown of the day with clock running out.

Re: A two told story Dynasty | Raiders & Bucs CCM M13

Raiders lose by GW FG

I think there's trouble paradise all looked well week 1. Fast forward to week 3 the Oakland Raiders are now 1-2 heading into there bye week. After allowing under the 300 yards for back to back weeks the Raiders did the same to the Bears. The only problem was the offense couldn't pick up the slack.

The first touchdown of the day would come from Vittatoe who finds Owusu on an slant route to go up 10-0. The Bears would then close the gap finding Earl Bennett on a 47 yard go route. The lead was 10-7 in the 4th QT. After having 2 straight 3 and outs the Raiders found themselves backs against the wall. The Bears would hit 2 FG's to take the lead 13-10.

After failing on an 3rd and inches play the Raiders would settle for an FG to nod the score up 13 a piece. With only 25 seconds left the game would look to go into OT. The Bears would run 2 straight draw plays and have the ball on an key 3rd and 1. With only 10 seconds remaining Cutler would throw a post route to Brandon Marshall with only 2 seconds remaining. Well within FG range the Bears hit the GW FG to advance to 2-1. UTEP star Trevor Vittatoe had some words this is what he had to say.

Quote:
Our defense is number 1 in every defense category. Me as a young leader need to pick this team up. I threw another costly pick and we lost again. As long as I'm the QB this won't happen again.
Raiders are 1-2 heading into the young bye week. The defense has looked great not so much for the offense. With Run DMC returning this might be key for the Raiders. I look for this team to improve and run more 2 TE set's to get Pitta and Bennett involved much more. The season is still young hopefully this team can improve and meet there playoff goals.

You guys should consolidate and focus on one single format. It will allow us readers to immerse ourselves into the story and not feel like it's two separate CCMs going on.
