Sorry for double post, but in my UConn dynasty, I replaced Whitmer with Scott McCummings to provide a better scrambling option. That has worked well, and he has also been passing for big yards each game. My UConn team is 8-0 and ranked #4. If you are getting sacked or pressured frequently, I suggest it.
dang can't believe I'm only reading this now, but i'm definitely going to be following from here on out. Great start with the Huskies, and nice layout
Thanks man! I haven't played the best of competition, so the record may be a little deceiving.

Yeah I've thought of that, but I'm not really good at scambling with the QB. Plus I've hated the fact that UCONN hasn't had a good passing game since Orlovsky left. I'm using this dynasty to hopefully change that haha.

Game Notes
Cincinnati holds 6-2 record all-time vs. Connecticut, and has won the previous two meetings between the teams.
Cincinnati comes into the game with a record of 5-1 (2-0), with the only blemish on the season a loss at Illinois (27-21) on September 7th. Cincy has a 2-0 record in the American Athletic Conference, defeating South Florida (38-27) in Week 6 and Temple (28-9) in Week 7. Running back Ralph David Abernathy has averaged nearly 6 yards per carry on his 91 attempts this season.
UCONN is 4-1 (1-0) on the season. It's only loss was a 38-24 loss at the hands of Top 25-ranked Michigan. UCONN defeated South Florida last week in its first game in the American. Wide receiver Shakim Phillips is three yards away from 500 on the season. His five touchdown receptions leads the team.

CINCINNATI, oh -- The Connecticut Huskies' defense has done it again. Squaring off against 5-1 (2-0) Cincinnati, it looked like UCONN would have its hands full. However the Huskies defense, led by Byron Jones (INT), Yawin Smallwood (4 tackles, 3 QB pressures), and Jesse Joseph (1 sack), would have the last laugh in Cincy.

The Huskies came into the game in Cincy with the #1 rushing defense in the country. When asked to explain why the defense has been so stout against the run, head coach Paul Pasqualoni's answer was simple: "We've had big leads in most of our games. Teams are forced to pass late in the game." I guess this explains the lack of running game against the Huskies.
UCONN got the scoring started on their first drive of the game. A 13-play, 85-yard drive ended in a Lyle McCombs 2-yard TD run. McCombs set the tone for the Huskies' offense, rushing the ball 34 times for 158 yards.
UCONN added another touchdown in the second quarter, this time on a 22 yard catch and run by Geremy Davis. After pounding the ball all drive with McCombs, QB Chandler Whitmer saw the time to capitalize on Cincinnati defense focused on the run. With all linebackers in tight, waiting another handoff to McCombs, Whitmer took the ball and slung it immediately to Davis -- a perfect WR screen. Downfield blocking by lineman Gus Cruz, tight end Sean McQuillan, and McCombs (yes, McCombs) helped Davis scamper easily into the end zone.
The Huskies continued to pile on in the third quarter. After a Chad Christen 31-yard field goal gave the Huskies a 17-0 halftime lead, Max DeLorenzo got the scoring started in the second half. DeLorenzo, the backup to McCombs, bounced off one tackle and hit the left side for an easy 10-yard touchdown. The seldom-used backup carried the ball for 58 yards on 11 attempts on the day.
The only scoring for the Bearcats came because of Whitmer. As the Huskies were driving for another sure touchdown, Whitmer decided to call an option play. UCONN, which runs roughly two option plays per game, showed its rust. Defender Arryn Chenault was clearly playing the pitch to McCombs, but Whitmer decided to pitch it anyways. After batting the ball down to force a fumble, Chenault picked it up and ran 84 yards for a touchdown. A 2-point conversion by Ralph David Abernathy IV cut the UCONN lead to 24-8.
Arryn Chenault picks up an errant pitch by Chandler Whitmer
That would be as close at the Bearcats would get. The Huskies' offense played the final quarter as a "keep away" game, just killing time off the clock. A Christen field goal with 2:09 remaining gave the game its 27-8 final score.
Connecticut will travel to Orlando, Florida next week to take on the University of Central Florida Knights, who "boast" a 1-5 record. Look for the Huskies to take a commanding 3-0 start to their conference season and improve to 6-1 on the season.

EAST HARTFORD, ct -- The Connecticut Huskies have just announced that they received their second commitment for the Class of 2014. Kicker Adam Tidwell (Progress, PA) announced his commitment to the UCONN program this past Wednesday.
Tidwell, the #32-ranked kicker, will fill the void left by current Huskies kicker Chad Christen (rsSr). Tidwell holds the Pennsylvania state record of successfully kicking 142 consecutive extra points. This season Tidwell has made 27 of his 33 field goal attempts, with a long of 51 made to win a game in overtime.
We had a chance to chat with Tidwell on his Twitter feed briefly. Below is a transcript of our conversation.
@HuskiesFanatics: "@AdamTidds75 Why UConn? Why not stay local and attend Pitt?"
@AdamTidds75: "@HuskiesFanatics Look at the roster. Pitt has a kicker. I'm gonna start right away at UCONN."
@HuskiesFanatics: "@AdamTidds75 Valid point. What goes through your mind when you think 'UCONN Football'?"
@AdamTidds75: "@HuskiesFanatics As a kicker, I gotta think Teggart's FG against USF to send CT to the Fiesta Bowl. Top moment for sure."
@HuskiesFanatics: "@AdamTidds75 That is a top UCONN football moment for sure. Here's to hoping you can have as good a career as Dave."
@AdamTidds75: "@HuskiesFanatics Damn right. I plan on it."
So will Tidwell be UCONN's Dave Teggart? Only time will tell.

Game Notes
Game marks the first meeting between American Athletic Conference foes.
UCF has just a 1-5 (1-1) record this season, however three losses (vs. Akron, @ FIU, @ #7 Louisville) have been by seven points or fewer. The Knights are led by QB Blake Bortles, who has thrown for 1216 yards on 99/181. He has 12 touchdowns to go along with 5 interceptions on the season.
UCONN is coming off a big win at Cincinnati. UCONN's only loss of the season came in the 3rd game of the season, against nationall-ranked Michigan. UCONN may be looking past UCF; the "game of the season" looms ahead as #7 Lousiville will come to Connecticut in two weeks.
