And now, the season is about to begin for the Super Six. We saw what they could do in high school, most significantly win Bristol a state title. Now they are mostly split up, and are now forced to be rivals in some cases. Some guys might make an impact as true freshman. Some may sit the bench and learn from the guys ahead of them for a year or two. Van Mayard, will be Clemson's third QB. After senior Cole Stoudt graduates, it'll be a battle between him and redshirt sophomore Chad Kelly for the starting role. Robert Bolig is backing up senior Marlin Lane. I'd look for him to make a big impact this year, before taking over the starting spot presumably next season. Matt Viselli could make a HUGE impact this year, starting in the slot and returning kicks and punts for Florida. Kenneth Maiden III needs to capitalize on all chances if he wants to survive on this Alabama offense. Mykell Mitchell will try to make as many plays as possible and pass sophomore Tray Matthews for the starting role, or possibly slide to strong safety for more playing time. Noe Estrella, teaming up with Robby Bolig, has a plethora of chances to make big plays, being the 3rd CB, backup SS, backup FS, and starting kick returner for the Volunteers. We'll have our first inter-Super Six game, as Van Mayard and the Clemson Tigers take on Mykell Mitchell and the Georgia Bulldogs. It's all real now, Super Six.

Week one of the Super Six's college careers is now over. It wasn't the best start for most of their teams, and a couple of guys didn't even touch the field. Van Mayard was the first of those guys. Clemson's 2nd string QB got a big bulk of playing time, but Mayard didn't put his helmet on. Despite that, his Clemson team beat Georgia. Robert Bolig put up solid yardage on his five carries, although the Volunteers suffered defeat from Kansas State. Noe Estrella was part of that Volunteers team, as he picked up his first career tackle. Matt Viselli had an impressive day, leading Florida in receptions in their domination of Idaho. Kenneth Maiden III also picked up a few catches, although Alabama was upset by WVU. Mykell Mitchell didn't play in his first game, and we'll see if he can get in there next week, where he plays the only big game for the Six, against South Carolina.
