Re: Unconquered.
WEEK TWLVE PREVIEW: SYRACUSE vs. FLORIDA STATE Florida State has climbed back up to eighth in the latest coaches poll, but sit in tenth in the latest edition of the BCS rankings. The Seminoles certainly have ground to make up following their loss to Miami, but a win over Wake Forest last week was a good start, as they look to finish the season strong. With Syracuse up next, the Seminoles should be able to pull out their ninth win of the campaign. FSU quarterback Jameis Winston has certainly started to settle in, and judging by his game against Wake Forest last week, could be a real threat as the Seminoles continue their push for a second consecutive BCS bowl appearance. Winston, who threw for 302 yards and accounted for 4 Florida State touchdowns last week, now has over 2,000 passing yards on the season to go along with 24 total touchdowns. While Syracuse may field a stingy pass defense, ranking 21st in the nation, the Florida State running attack, spearheaded by Devonta Freeman, should be able to manipulate the Orange defense to open up the passing game for Winston. Freeman, who has shouldered the load for the 'Noles after James Wilder Jr. went down with an injury, has 833 yards and 8 touchdowns this season. Syracuse meanwhile, have made a decent showing in their first season in the ACC. The Orange are currently 5-4, including a win against Clemson at the Carrier Dome in early October. Oklahoma transfer Drew Allen has been the offense's catalyst at quarterback, throwing for over 1,800 yards and 15 touchdowns. However, against a relentless Florida State pass rush, expect Allen to get hit early and often. If the Orange can stop the run game from the start, they could put the 'Noles in a bit of trouble, but, expect FSU to pull through in the end and claim their ninth victory of the season. PREDICTION: Florida State 31-17 Syracuse |

Re: Unconquered.
TALLAHASSEE, Florida -- All the Seminoles did after blowing out Wake Forest last was follow that performance up with a dominant 43-14 rout of the ACC newcomer, Syracuse. A dominant game from the defense and explosive offense came together to guide Florida State to their ninth win of the season. Things started slow for the #8 Seminoles, as the Orange held a 7-3 lead after the first quarter. However, things changed drastically in the second period. Freshman kicker Roberto Aguayo added another two field goals before FSU finally found the end zone with under a minute remaining. Two Drew Allen interceptions in the final minute of the half allowed the Seminoles create some valuable breathing room. After Jameis Winston connected with Nick O'Leary on a beautiful pass in the back of the end zone, Winston made it 23-7 with a 2 yard touchdown run with 15 seconds to play. The Seminoles continued to dominate defensively in the third quarter. While Mario Pender got into the act with a 21 yard touchdown run up the middle, the FSU defense continued to shut down Allen and the Orange. Aguayo tacked on his fifth field goal of the afternoon to start the fourth quarter, before Syracuse would answer with their second touchdown of the game. With just under 3 minutes remaining, the Seminoles put the final nail in the coffin, as Winston threw his second touchdown pass of the day, linking up with Kenny Shaw on a 16 yard strike. The Seminoles now have another win under their belt and what should be another easy victory next week as they host 1-9 Idaho. Most importantly for Florida State however, is that junior running backJames Wilder Jr. will be healthy and available as they take on the struggling Vandals.

Re: Unconquered.
The Florida State Seminoles, fresh off their two best offensive outputs of the season, play host to the Idaho Vandals, who certainly stack up as one of the worst teams in college football. Idaho's only win of the season came last week against Old Dominion, but the Vandals, coming into Tallahassee, will certainly see the Seminoles as a different beast. Averaging only 285 yards per game on offense, while conceding over 460 yards per game on defense, the Vandals rank in the bottom five in both total offense and total defense. For the Seminoles, after it appeared as if James Wilder Jr. would be ready to return to the field today, Jimbo Fisher announced that Wilder won't play today, but will instead make his return in next week's rivalry game with the Florida Gators. Once again, Devonta Freeman will be the main cog in the running game for the Seminoles. Freeman, who ran rampant on Syracuse for upwards of 200 yards last week, has run for over 1,000 yards this season and 8 touchdowns. Jameis Winston has also proved to be a factor in the running game, scoring 8 touchdowns on the ground as well. Ultimately, with the Seminoles offense firing on all cylinders and the defense really picking up their play as of late, there's no denying that this game could get ugly early on. Expect the Seminoles second team offense and defense to see substantial time in the second half. PREDICTION: Florida State 65-10 Idaho |

Re: Unconquered.
TALLAHASSEE, Florida -- There was no surprise in this one, as the red-hot Florida State Seminoles dismantled a hopeless Idaho team on Senior Day, as the Vandals sank to 1-10 on the season. The Florida State offense was clicking from the onset, as Jameis Winston and Kenny Shaw teamed up for a 10 yard touchdown. Later in the first quarter, Winston tossed his second touchdown pass of the afternoon, finding his tight end Nick O'Leary from 2 yards out. After Idaho got on the board early in the second quarter with a field goal, the Seminoles went on to score 21 unanswered points. Winston found Shaw, who was playing his last game at Doak Campbell Stadium, for another touchdown, then kept it himself, running for a 5 yard score. With just under a minute left, Devonta Freeman got into the act, taking a handoff off the right side of the line and out-running the Vandals defense for a 52 yard touchdown. With a 35-3 lead at half time, there was no doubt that this game was already out of reach for Idaho. On his final throw of the game, Winston threw his fourth touchdown toss of the afternoon, connecting with O'Leary for the second time. Redshirt freshman running back Mario Pender scored on a 9 yard rush around the left side with three and a half minutes left in the third quarter. Florida State started the 4th quarter off strong, as true freshman corner back Jalen Ramsey intercepted a pass and ran untouched for 33 yards for another FSU touchdown. After Idaho answered with their first touchdown of the game, the 'Noles came back, as Jacob Coker found Levonte Whitfield on a short slant, allowing the speedy freshman to do the rest, finishing off a 51 yard touchdown pitch and catch. The Seminoles improve to 10-1 with the victory, which was certainly yet another confidence builder before they head into the Swamp next Saturday in their annual Sunshine Showdown with the #8 Florida Gators.
