Yeah it really was, but I saw that upset happening and couldn't believe it. Tennessee has been on that other end of that all season (they lost to South Alabama) haha

Arndt Tosses 4 Picks, 6 Total Turnovers Doom Texas State
Tyler Arndt accounts for all 6 turnovers

To say it wasn't Tyler Arndt's day would be an understatement. The senior quarterback turned the ball over 6 times, including 4 interceptions, but was still nearly able to lead Texas State to a victory, coming up a last second field goal short, as the UL Monroe Warhawks sent the Bobcats to 0-2 in the conference, and 3-3 overall.

Nothing seemed to go right for Arndt after a ball caromed off Tim Gay's hands in the first quarter and was picked off. Now, after 9 turnovers in the past two games, there is a quarterback controversy, as Freshman Jordan Moore stands poised to get the start next week against winless Georgia State.

Terrance Frank put in another solid performance in the loss, with 96 yards on the ground, and another 79 yards receiving. It wasn't enough, as Arndt would toss not one, but two picks in the end zone, ending potential scoring drives.

On the recruiting front, Texas State faired much better, getting commitments from highly sought after Junior College transfer Brent Higdon. Higdon, could start a quarterback next season, boasting 4.34 speed, and the ability to throw on the run, he would fit the offense that has seen Arndt struggle.

Mammoth Quarterback transfer Brent Higdon leads the class that Texas State has signed so far, at 6'7 figuratively and literally. Higdon is a beast at 242 pounds, and clocks in a 4.34 in the 40, giving OC Brian Abernathy a big weapon in 2014.

He'll be joined by wideout Brian Hogan, who at 6'1 200 pounds gives a big body target for Higdon to throw to in the coming seasons. Hogan figures to be a red zone target, and may redshirt his first year on campus.

Texas State isn't a bad non-BCS team in this game. Tough loss to UL Monroe, but not a bad start to the season.

They aren't awful, but are below a lot of the other Sun Belt teams. I'm hoping, especially with how I've been playing, to get to 6 wins.

Texas State Bounces Back, Runs Past Georgia State
Tyler Arndt benched, Jordan Moore leads way

The writing was finally on the wall. Tyler Arndt was sitting at the end of the bench after his second lost fumble of the first half, and Jordan Moore was under center for the Bobcats, who, despite the turnovers, held a 14-3 lead.

"It was a tough decision to pull Tyler, but Jordan has been working hard in practice, and we wanted to see what he can do." said Head Coach Dennis Franchione.

Moore did not light the world on fire, throwing two interceptions, and completing just 8 of 18 passes, but he was not helped by 4 drops by his offensive weapons. Moore expertly pushed the ball down the field, and Texas State was aided by 18 penalties called on Georgia State, netting 206 yards on those alone.

Terrance Franks was a key to keeping the ball moving down the field, rushing for 143 yards, and showing why he was named Sun Belt offensive player on the week following his performance against UL Monroe.

Texas State will have one more home game before hitting the road, hosting South Alabama, with a chance to pull to 2-2 in the conference, and get their 5th win of the season.
