Re: Whatever Happened to the Patriot Way - A Madden NFL 25 New England Patriots CFM
While division races are looking like they are taking form, it's still probably too early to declare any team a winner or a loser. Even though some teams appear to be out of the race already, there are 10 games left and teams hoping to turn their dreadful starts around still have a chance. Instead of trying to look into the future, here are some week 7 games that should not disappoint.
Denver Broncos (5-1) @ Indianapolis Colts (3-3)
It's happened before and this time is no different. A star quarterback becomes the face of a franchise and a city and late in his career finds himself with another team. Peyton Manning is living this story and will get a chance to show the Colts what they are missing when he returns to Indianapolis to face the Colts. Indianapolis bounced back from a 2-game losing with a decisive victory over the San Diego Chargers. Meanwhile since their week 1 loss to the Baltimore Ravens, the Broncos have won 5 straight. In those 5 wins, they have outscored their opponents 198-85. To say the Colts will have their hands full on Sunday will be a huge understatement.
Baltimore Ravens (2-4) @ Pittsburgh Steelers (4-1)
The 2013 season has gone in completely different directions for these teams. The defending Super Bowl champions have lost four straight games while the Steelers are 4-1 and in second in the AFC North. There's no better time for the Ravens to show and prove than in a game against a division rival. If they can't do that, they'll be looking at a pretty steep hill to overcome for the remainder of the season.
Houston Texans (4-2) @ Kansas City Chiefs (4-2)
The Chiefs along with the Broncos have had a tough time as both clubs are dealing with an excessive amount of injuries this season. What makes the Chiefs' situation worse is that starting quarterback Alex Smith may only be able to play again around weeks 16 or 17 and it's unclear if the Chiefs will still be in contention at that point. As for the Texans, another strong start to the year won't be enough to satisfy fans anymore. The question will be whether or not they can compete in the playoffs. A win for the Texans will help quiet that question, at least for this week.
The last time these teams met in early September, the New England Patriots won handily 31-16. That was the beginning of the New York Jets 5-game losing streak that the Jets haven't recovered from. Things aren't looking good for the Jets as they'll be without their stud left tackle D'Brickashaw Ferguson. That's something that can't be overlooked since the Jets gave up 6 sacks in their last game against the Patriots.
The Patriots will be without tight end Michael Hoomanawanui for the next few games but they'll get a major boost as Rob Gronkowski is scheduled to make his season debut. Also, Danny Amendola is expected to start even though he left last Sunday's game against the New Orleans Saints and didn't return.

Sometimes it's easy to overlook something that might appear to be less challenging than it seems. This is referred to as a "trap game" in the NFL. In order to continue the positive momentum the New England Patriots created with a convincing win over the New Orleans Saints they would have to come into Sunday's game focused and prepared.
A common theme for the Patriots over the past three games has been slow first halves and this game was no different. While the offense has been cool to start games, the Patriots' defense has started out hot in those games as well and it carried over into this game. The Patriots forced a three and out on the New York Jets first drive but they weren't able to do anything on their first drive as well. The Jets made the most of their opportunities on their second drive scoring on a 28 yard touchdown pass from Geno Smith to Stephen Hill. The Patriots finally managed to score on a 32-yard field goal from kicker Stephen Gostkowski.
The Jets take the early lead in the first quarter with a 28-yard touchdown pass from Smith to Hill.
The Patriots shook off the slow start in the second quarter by scoring twice on passes to Danny Amendola from Tom Brady. Not only did the offensive play improve, the defense improved as well. Aqib Talib and rookie defensive back Logan Ryan each had an interception in the second quarter that stopped a New York Jets drive. Heading into the second half, the Patriots had a comfortable 17-7 lead.
Rookie cornerback Logan Ryan gets his first interception of his career.
The Patriots received the ball to start the second half and they didn't take their foot off the pedal. This time Tom Brady found tight end Rob Gronkowski for two more touchdown passes in the third quarter. Mean while, the defense continued to frustrate Smith and the Jets. They were however able add kick a field goal late in the quarter. The Patriots made sure that any hopes the Jets had of a comeback would be put to rest.
The Patriots added another 21 points to their 31-10 lead in the fourth quarter. Stevan Ridley managed to find the endzone from 5 yards out and Brady connected with Gronkowski for the third time in the game. At this point the Patriots had built themselves a 45-10 lead in the last quarter. They managed to put a bow on their dominating win when Kyle Arrington ran back an interception 34 yards for a touchdown. With that, the Patriots completed their dominating win it's over division rival Jets.
Kyle Arringtons's interception return for a touchdown in the 4th quarter adds to the Patriots enormous lead.
Game Ball/Extra Reps
Game Ball: Tom Brady: Brady has his best game of the year so far throwing 5 touchdown passes and no interceptions.
Rob Gronkowski: Gronkowski shows that he's probably one of the best tight ends in the league in his season debut.
Nate Solder: The strong play of Solder and the offensive line keeps Brady upright and untouched, the only blemish being one sack.
Extra Reps: Alfonzo Dennard: It seems like every game, the Dennard will allow a big play or two.
Linebackers: Tight ends have been an issue for this unit all year. Jeff Cumberland and Smith take advantage of that.
Media Reaction Trey Wingo @WingozEA: Going to pull out one of my favorite words here, quite a shellacking in New York. Mike Clay @MClayEA: Tom Brady's fantasy value is at a season high after a 5-TD game. #SellHigh Mike Hill @MikeHillEA: It's not quite "do you believe in miracles" but Tom Brady went TD crazt in the Patriots win.
Minnesota Vikings
J. Baca (G) - Shoulder Tear - 3 Weeks K. Williams (DT) - Dislocated Ankle - 2 Weeks
Media Reaction Mark Schlereth @MarkSchlerethEA: In the locker room, you get a little boost seeing somebody like D. Johnson come back. Skip Bayless @SkipBaylessEA: J. Asamoah has been practicing all week so no reason to believe he won't play this week. Ross Tucker @RossTuckerEA: The Broncos know it will be a big lift getting Clady back this week. Trey Wingo @WingozEA: Lane Johnson just got drafted and he's already hurt? Matt Miller @MattMillerEA: Dolphins will be dissatisfied to say the least after coming up short at home. Mike Hill @MikeHillEA: Titans will have some trouble sleeping after that loss to the 49ers. Chris Mortensen @mortreportEA: #Vikings came into New York and pulled it out against the #Giants.

With Roddy White being placed on injured reserve, the Falcons bring back veteran Jenkins to help somewhat fill the void.
Bernard Scott (HB) - 1 Year, 680k
James Ihedigbo being placed on injured reserve opens up a roster spot for the Ravens. Although there is need at nose tackle because of Haloti Ngata being sidelined with a ruptured disk, the bye week provides just enough cover for the Ravens to wait it out. Also, Bernard's signing give the Ravens some insurance at the runningback position in case either Ray Rice or Bernard Pierce suffer an injury.
Re: Whatever Happened to the Patriot Way - A Madden NFL 25 New England Patriots CFM
Even though the leaves are changing colors and the weather is getting colder, some NFL teams have decided to warm things up. The Atlanta Falcons, Cincinnati Bengals and Seattle Seahawks are the hottest teams in the league at the moment having won five in a row. Last week, the Indianapolis Colts broke the Denver Broncos winning streak proving the old adage of "any given Sunday" to be true. With week 8 upon us, here are some of the more interesting contest taking place on Sunday.
Atlanta Falcons (5-1) @ Arizona Cardinals (4-3)
The Falcons will put their 5 game winning streak on the line when they travel to Arizona to face the Cardinals on Sunday. Even though the Falcons have been playing great s thus far, they'll have to continue doing so without wide reciever Roddy White as he was placed on injured reserve. While the Cardinals are relatively healthy after their first seven games, Atlanta has one of the leagues toughest defense ranked 3rd against the pass and 6th against the run. Arizona will have to rely upon their impressive turnover differential if they hope to get the win this Sunday.
Buffalo Bills (4-3) @ New Orleans Saints (4-2)
Buffalo has started the 2013 season much better than analyst expected. Rookie quarterback E.J Manuel has played well enough to help the Bills to a 4-3 record which places them second in the AFC East. Getting a victory on the road will be made a little easier as tight end Jimmy Graham will not be able to play Sunday.
Dallas Cowboys (4-3) @ Detroit Lions (3-4)
After two 8-8 seasons under head coach Jason Garrett, a 4-3 start to the season is a great sign for the Cowboys. If things continue to play out the way they have, it might come down to the last game of the season as the Cowboys are currently tied for first in the NFC East with the Eagles. As for the Lions, a win would help them keep up with the Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings that currently have a 4-2 record.
