Game Notes
This is the biggest game in the short history of the METRO conference as undefeated Georgetown heads to Coastal Carolina to take on the 6-1 Chanticleers who are atop the South Division.
Georgetown Wins If...It's the same thing every week. Jeff Sanders need to keep the turnovers to a minimum. They can't expect to win when they turn the ball over 4 times, especially against a team like Coastal Carolina.
Coastal Carolina Wins If...They can move the ball on the ground and keep the ball away from Sanders and Swift. If Rex Johnson can get going they'll have a great shot at winning.

Record Setting Day as Hoyas Crush Chanticleers
The combination has been so good all season, it was just a matter of time before they did something special. They saved it for the biggest game of the year to date to do it. Jeff Sanders threw for a record 5 touchdowns, and Darren Swift hauled in 8 balls for a record 245 yards and two scores as Georgetown smashed their top opponent in the METRO, Coastal Carolina 49-17.
Coastal Carolina kept it close early, and had a chance to tie the game in the second after Jeff Sanders made his only mistake of the game, throwing an interception. Coastal would drive deep into Georgetown territory before being stuffed and having to settle for a short 26 yard field goal attempt. The field goal went wide right, and five plays later Sanders hit Swift from 50 yards out to increase the lead to 14.
They wouldn't look back. While Coastal was able to freely move between the 30s, racking up 411 yards of offense they were unable to do much in the red zone. Georgetown had no such issue. Sanders threw touchdowns to four separate receivers, and adding another score on the ground.
"The score doesn't indicate how close this game was." said Coach Denby, "We made some plays when we needed to, and got lucky when they made some mistakes. That's all it takes sometimes."
Darren Swift and Jeff Sanders broke records in an easy victory.
