Re: The History of Operation Sports University

OS Weekly
Week 1, Season 1

With the first week in the books we'll take a look at Operation Sports University's first win, and first game ever against Georgia State.

The offense looked like a microwaved dinner, at times hot and at other times cold. It all starts with the offensive line who expect Epperly, got dominated. The Nighthawks learned very quick to get in the shotgun and fear for your life if you are going right. 90% of OS' run plays went to the left using Chavis and Epperly to give them a shot and they did a heck of a job over there. Chavis not really known for blocking had to step up and do the job. OS is planning on getting him involved in the passing game more next week. The receiving core played just as we thought they were and Okafor became the monster in the middle. To no surprise Carmicheal was the key to the turtle offense the Nighthawks are trying to run. Look for the offense to only get better as they are figuring things out.

Now on to the defense, which seemed to completely shutdown the running game, as they expected forcing Georgia State to put the ball in the air. The young secondary played well, with all of them getting knock downs. Rob Roy lead an impressive front that seem to play more of the 2-4-5 then the 3-4 that we expected. Newman who we found out was a return man playing safety flew around the field picking up 9 tackles. Kunes made sure that Ronnie Bell knew who he was all game but only getting 1 sack. Mr. I-Can-Play-Anywhere Webb even got in on the action with a sack of his own.

The special times as we found out last night is going to give teams fits. Bear Tebow did miss a field goal but it was a 50 yarder that bounced off the crossbar and out. But the stand out and OS Weeklys MVP was Newman with 2 punt returns taken back to the house and he was killing them all night. Look out for Newman on returning while it was at once thought that this job would be shared with other players Newman wrapped it all up in one game. Everytime he caught the ball he was on inch away from scoring, I'm not even sure if they tackled him.

Next week OS takes on South Alabama and they aren't sleeping the whole country has been awaken by the Nighthawks. OS Weekly is taking South Alabama (0-1) by a touchdown, sorry boys.

GO NIGHTHAWKS!
