Re: Sharpening the Horns - A Minnesota Vikings Franchise (Madden 25)
Around the League: Week 4 An exciting week of NFL football is winding down, but we are going to go through and make sure you know of everything that happened in Week 4. The Jaguars and Saints went to overtime in this game which is what makes this the Game of the Week. Rookie QB Derek Carr of the Jaguars is this week's Rookie Focus. The Jaguars are coming off of a tie in overtime last week to the Jets. This is the 2nd week in a row they have gone to overtime. The New Orleans Saints have only one win on the season and are looking for a 2nd to bring some excitement to the city of New Orleans. This game was very close throughout which is exactly why it went to overtime. There were 3 field goals scored for each squad in regulation. The only 2 TDs in regulation were from Jaguars halfback Justin Forsett and a pass from Brees to Givens. In overtime, the Jags won the toss which put the game in the hands of 14th overall pick Derek Carr out of Fresno State. The rookie had played very great football up to this point, and he was looking for his first touchdown of the day. The reason this team was in overtime is because of Carr's ability to keep the football safe and secure. This nasty New Orleans Saints defense had been ballhawks in previous games but Carr showed he had the poise to keep it in his hands. This Saints team is very underrated and have just been a few plays away from being undefeated right now. The Jaguars drove the ball down the field on the first possession of overtime. Once they were in Saints territory the Saints players felt another loss creeping into the L column. The Jaguars needed a touchdown to win, a field goal would give it back to the Saints. Derek Carr had conducted a beautiful drive up to this point, and head coach Gus Bradley wanted to go for the win as soon as possible, so he dialed up a pass that had routes flying into the endzone. Carr dropped back and let it fly into the endzone to Cecil Shorts III. He came down with the ball and the Jaguars won the game in incredible fashion. This was a Jacksonville team that came into the year with very low expectations, but they are now 2-1-1 and are right back in the playoff chase. The Superdome was silent after that last play and the Saints are quickly falling out of contention now at 1-3-0. Stat Leaders NO QB D. Brees 260 yards, 1 TD, 0 INT, 58% JAX QB (R) D. Posluszny 12 TAK Derek Carr looked great in that last game! It's a great time to be a Jaguars fan! That's a first. Fantasy footballers here are this week's top players. QB: Colin Kaepernick threw 3 touchdowns this week, the most of any QB and he also did not throw an interception to the Redskins defense. He was held to under 200 yards passing but those touchdowns are the big reason why he was the top scorer. Kap is looking to be a reliable starter every week, keep him in your lineup for next week. HB: Jamal Charles went nuts this week against one of the best defenses in the league, the Chicago Bears. He ran for 185 yards against this team and had a touchdown on an electric 67 yard run. Without this run the Chiefs would have lost. Fantasy owners should keep expecting this production from Charles as he is proving to be one of the best in the league. WR: Roddy White has been on a tear as of late, 2 touchdown catches last week, and a huge performance this week. The man had 10 rec, which is great for point-per-reception (PPR) leagues. He had 129 yards receiving and a touchdown which equates to fantasy greatness. He has done it 2 weeks in a row, but since there are so many weapons on the Falcons defense, it may be smart to trade Roddy while he is on top. TE: Jordan Cameron helped Brandon Weeden get re acclimated to the game of football after dealing with an injury. He only had 4 receptions on the day, but 2 of them were touchdowns from Weeden. The throws were not very good but Cameron, who is an emerging superstar, made them look like easy throws. Cameron should be a starter in all leagues from this point on. The Browns offense has the talent to be very good, Jordan Cameron is a reason why. DEF/ST: K: Matt Prater scored more than half of the Broncos 30 points on Sunday. He kicked a total of 7 field goals which is definitely above average for a kicker. He made 5 of those 7 and only kicked 1 extra point. He was the Broncos offense. Without him they would have scored only 14 points. His long of the day was a 46 yarder, keep starting him from here on out. NFL Players of the Week NFC OFFENSE: Giants HB DuJuan Harris: Giants new addition, DuJuan Harris, gets his first start as a Giant this year and shows the team why he can be the full time starter. With 134 yards of total offense on only 21 touches he was easily the top NFC offensive performance. It is unknown if he will remain the starter for next week, but he has a great chance after this game. 18 att, 102 yards, 5.7 avg, 2 TD, 3 rec, 32 yards NFC DEFENSE: Cowboys MLB (R) Jake Fischer: Rookie linebacker from Arizona, Jake Fischer, makes his first career start with the Cowboys. He looked the part of a star being born with 2 interceptions on the day. He must have felt pretty good intercepting 2 time Superbowl champ Eli Manning. He also recorded 6 tackles. He lead the Cowboys defense like a seasoned vet, the future is bright for Jake Fischer. 6 TAK, 0 SACK, 2 INT, 0 FF, 0 FR, 0 TD AFC OFFENSE: Chiefs HB Jamaal Charles: Jamaal was used like a superstar against the Bears this week, he also played like a superstar. He was given just under 30 touches and he responded with 194 all-purpose yards. He rightfully deserves the Week 4 NFC Offensive Player of the Week. 25 att, 185 yards, 7.4 avg, 1 TD, 4 rec, 9 yards AFC DEFENSE: Broncos LOLB Von Miller: Sack artist Von Miller is at it again, causing chaos for opposing teams. The Raiders had no way to stop the force that wears #58. He had 3 sacks on Raiders quarterback Chad Henne and also forced a fumble and recovered it. He lead his team in tackles as well with 11. We are not surprised at all to see him earn this week's Player of the Week honor. 11 TAK, 3 SACK, 0 INT, 1 FF, 1 FR, 0 TD Key Transactions Steelers release FB Lawrence Vickers, sign FB Chris Pressley to 1 year, $680k The Steelers pick up former Lions FB Chris Pressley to improve a roster spot that is in need. Lawrence Vickers found the Steelers playbook to be too complicated which lead to his release. He missed key blocks in his last game versus the Browns. Week 4 action has now officially wrapped up, and we thank you for tuning in. The NFL season is now 1/4 of the way over and there is much more to unfold over the next 13 weeks. Join us next week for info on this years upcoming draft!

Re: Sharpening the Horns - A Minnesota Vikings Franchise (Madden 25)
Vikings change secondary to prepare for Peyton Manning in Week 5 The Vikings play the Denver Broncos in week 5 and are facing arguably the greatest quarterback of all time. Their secondary has been less than stellar in the first 4 weeks of the season and the team announced last week that there may be changes coming. The Vikings have released their weekly depth chart and there are a couple changes at the corner position. Josh Robinson was the number 2 corner in week 3 against the Falcons, where he got beat multiple times. AJ Jefferson will start this week in place of Josh which moves Chris Cook down to number 4. The team had this to say on the move, "We as an organization needed to make a change in the secondary and AJ (Jefferson) has proved he can make plays and lock down his half of the field. Josh Robinson will still get his share of snaps, but since we are facing the Broncos' great passing game we felt the secondary needed a switch. We will evaluate these positions later this week and if more changes are needed, we won't hesitate." That was the only change to the depth chart this week, although we expect to see more snaps and touches for Adrian Peterson, Julius Thomas, and Joe Banyard.

Re: Sharpening the Horns - A Minnesota Vikings Franchise (Madden 25)
Week 5: Peyton falls short of comeback The Broncos came into the game boasting the #1 ranked offense in the NFL. With weapons like Demaryius Thomas, Wes Welker, Peyton Hillis, Joel Dreesen, and of course Peyton Manning, everyone expected the Vikings secondary to struggle. On Peyton's first drive, he tried to convert on a 3rd down and threw to Trindon Holliday, but he found Josh Robinson instead who used his 4.3 speed to take it to the house. On the next drive, Manning got his revenge as he lead the Broncos down the field to the 1 yard line where HB Montee Ball pounded it in for the score. Next on the Vikings drive, the Broncos defense bit on a play action to Adrian Peterson, this sprung Cordarrelle Patterson free down field for a TD on a 49 bomb from Ponder. It looked as if it would be a shootout as Manning completed a pass for 71 yards to Demaryius Thomas to get into the redzone. From there, Manning threw it to Thomas once again for the touchdown. This tied it up at 14 apiece. The Broncos defense looked weak as the Vikings drove right down the field. On the 1 yard line, Ponder rolled to his right on a boot play-action. Tight end Julius Thomas broke free and made a very athletic play on the ball on a low pass from Ponder for the TD. On the next drive, Peyton threw a short pass intended for Dreesen, but Erin Henderson the Vikings MLB stepped in front and intercepted it. He was injured on the play and did not return due to a torn shoulder labrum, Audie Cole played middle linebacker for the remainder of the game. Adrian Peterson then ran it into the endzone at the end of the 2nd quarter to bring the lead to 28-14. The Vikings were looking very improved from last week. Cordarrelle Patterson scored his second touchdown of the day on a screen pass from Ponder. He caught it behind the line of scrimmage and with some great blocks he ran 38 yards for the score. Peyton got the ball back and threw a 10 yard strike to Demaryius Thomas to bring the score to 35-21, the Broncos still had a chance. Ponder's first mistake of the day came when he was flushed out of the pocket and tried to force it to Greg Jennings in the endzone. It was thrown directly into the hands of Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie. The Vikings defense had a nice defensive stand in the red zone to hold the Broncos to a field goal after a nice drive. 2 plays later, Ponder throws his second pick to Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie looking Jennings way again. DRC extended his arms in front of Jennings and snatched the ball out of the air. The Broncos took over with good field position. Our defense held once again and the Broncos got another field goal. We lead 35-27 with 3:49 left. Blair Walsh tried a 53 yard field goal to make it a 2 possession lead, but the kick was short. Peyton Manning had 1 shot to win the game and he lead an impressive drive all the way down to the 5 yard line. On 4th down they needed a yard for the first down or a touchdown. Manning throws to the corner for Welker who was open but Chris Cook made an incredible game saving dive in the air and knocked the ball down to end the game. The Vikings came out of Mile High with a close win. The team looked good except for Ponder's 2 interceptions that let the Broncos back in the game. He did not need to make those throws and almost cost the Vikings a win. The secondary played better for the most part. They did all they could do against an all time great like Peyton Manning. All in all, it was a very successful game for the Vikings.

I don't know what happened but the Week 5 Around the League post somehow got deleted about a day after I posted it. I put tons of work into it and it's all of a sudden gone.....I really don't want to do it all over again and that really discourages me to post again on here
