Re: "I Bleed Blue" (A Boise State NCAA14 Dynasty)

In the past 10 years, the Boise State Broncos have finished in the Top-25 8 times, including 4 times in the Top-10 with a school best #4 ranking in 2010 when they went 14-0.

Coming into 2013 the Broncos find themselves in familiar territory starting the year #19. With a strength of schedule ranked with a C+ grade, Boise State will most likely need to run the table in repeat that undefeated season if they are going to have a shot at a National Championship. However with a BCS Fiesta Bowl appearance a lock for the MWC Champions, the Broncos are just looking to take care of business in conference play #1. Week 1's match up with Washington should be a great way to judge just how this season will go.

2013 WEEK 1 PREVIEW

Opening Week or Day no matter what sport is one of the most exciting times for any teams fans. Week 1 provides us with some great matchups as #1 Alabama will take on Virginia Tech in the Chick-fil-la Kickoff. #14 Oklahoma State will take on Mississippi State in the Texas Kickoff Classic and Pitt will take on #12 FSU in their first ACC matchup. However the most talked about games this week as to be #4 Stanford taking on #15 Texas and #5 Georgia taking on #8 Clemson in the Games of the Week.

All 5 of these games could easily effect the outcome of who will be playing for a National Championship come January.

Re: "I Bleed Blue" (A Boise State NCAA14 Dynasty)

Tomorrow is my day off.. I have a few errands to run, but for the most part, plan on spending my day playing NCAA. I hope to get in at least 2 games maybe 3 and updates..

Like my Madden Franchises, my plan is more to tell you the story of how I scored, with key plays and give you key stats for both teams..... Also because I am just running as the Offensive Coordinator, I do plan on doing more background stories involving Coach Dezaron as well as a Weekly Radio Show like I did with my College Hoops legacies and past NCAA football dynasties..

WEEK 1 "The Rematch"

GAME PREVIEW

Over 71,000 people plan to watch this rematch live at the new renovated Husky stadium, well the rest of the nation will get a chance to see the game on Fox 1.

Last year the Broncos got revenge on the Huskies winning the Las Vegas Bowl 28-26 ending the season on a high note, well Washington dropped to 7-6. Not exactly the kind of year they were hoping for.

Revenge you ask? Well if you don't remember in 2007, BSU made the trip north to Seattle to play the Huskies and Jake Locker, with Taylor Tharp and Ian Johnson leading the attack for the Bronco Blue. Tharp would have a horrible day throwing 3 INT's, well Locker led the Huskies to a 24-10 victory ending Boise State's 14 game winning streak (the longest in the NCAA at that time).

Fast forward to 2013. Washington this time around will look to ride the arm of RS SR QB Keith Price and a very talented running game with JR Bishop Sankey.

A loss here, means the end of Boise State's BCS Championship hopes. A win here for the Huskies would be a great building block that could see them in the Top-25.

GAME RECAP

Both teams would lose their starting RB's in the first half, never to return. Sankey would leave after just 1-11 yard carry. With Sankey out, the Huskies turned to RS FR Kendyl Taylor who originally was slated to move to WR. Taylor would answer with a great day on the ground.

For Boise State, Jay Ajayi would give the Broncos 14 carries, 55 yards and a TD before leaving the game with a leg injury, putting the Broncos up 7-0 with 7 minutes to play in the 2nd Quarter.

Washington would tie the game on the next play though as K. Williams goes 95 yards for the kickoff return to make it 7-7. After a missed 29 yard Field Goal by Dan Goodale of BSU, the Huskies then get a 33 yr FG by T. Coons to take the 10-7 lead with 1:55 to play in the half.

Joe Southwick would try and get his team in scoring position but instead would throw his 2nd INT of the game as the first half ended.

In the 3rd Quarter, Washington's offense would explode scoring 21 straight points. K. Williams would catch a 5 yard TD from Price for his 2nd score of the game, and Taylor would score 2 TD's from the ground as the Huskies went up 31-7.

With their starting RB out and backup Jack Fields unable to generate yards, the Broncos were forced to the air, but again Joe Southwick would struggle. The RS SR would throw 2 more INT's for a total of 4 leading to 3 more Husky touchdowns as Taylor racks up 2 more to finish the game with 4.

With 4 INT's to his name and down 52-7, the Broncos would insert RS FR Nick Patti. Patti would scramble 13 yards on his first play, then complete 2 /2 passes for 28 yards to set up a Fields 2 yard TD run to make it 52-14. But after a failed offside kick, the game was over....

KEY STATS

QB J. Southwick 18/42 216 yards 4 INT
RB J. Ajayi-14 carries 55 yards (3.9 Avg) 1 TD
RB J. Fields-8 carries 14 yards (1.7 Avg) 1 TD
WR M. Miller-5 rec 51 yards
WR A. Burks-4 rec 52 yards
TE H. Huff-2 rec 42 yards

QB-K. Price-23/35 309 yards 2 TD
RB-K. Taylor-29 carries 113 yards (3.8 Avg) 4 TD
WR-J. Mickens-5 rec 67 yards
TE-A Seferian-4 rec 40 yards 1 TD
WR K. Smith-4 rec 63 yards 1 TD
WR/KR K. Williams-2 rec 18 yard 1 TD, 1 95 yard kickoff return TD

With a Bye Week next week, Coach Pete and new O-Coordinator Ryne Dezaron will need to go back to the drawing board to figure out how to improve on this one.

Re: "I Bleed Blue" (A Boise State NCAA14 Dynasty)

MONDAY MORNING WITH CAVES AND PRATER

All weekend Ryne Dezaron, kept replaying the game in his mind. Should he have called this play, if only Southwick had seen the open guy on that one, what if Ajayi hadn't gotten hurt. If only the "Defense" could've stopped the Huskies once.

Well now he gets his chance to answer those questions on the radio with all of Bronco Nation listening in.

Caves-
Quote:
Coach, thanks for coming on the show.. That was a rough one. I can't get out of my head how horrible both sides of the ball looked.
Dezaron-
Quote:
You think you can't... Try having my memory. Well Total Recall can be a gift, it also can be a huge curse as well. I don't think I have slept in the past 48 hours. Every play, every throw, just keeps coming back into my mind. This was by far the worse Week 1 loss in school history.
Prater-
Quote:
Worse then the 48-13 loss to Georgia in 2005? That was pretty ugly too.. Zabransky went 8/17 with 4 picks in that one too. Any chance Southwick calls him for advice on how to put it behind him.
Dezaron--
Quote:
Yeah "Z" had a horrible game, but went on to have a pretty decent career for us. Joe is going to be fine. He struggled, but it wasn't all on him. When you throw 42 times, you have to figure some are going to find the hands of defenders. We had some huge drop passes, 2 deflections that turned into INT's and a running game that did nothing in the 2nd half.
Caves-
Quote:
The 2005 performance by QB DJ Shockley (16/24 289 yards 5 TD in the air, 5 carries 85 yards 1 TD on the ground) has to be the greatest game by a BSU opponent ever, but you have to give Taylor props he stepped up big when Sankey went down.
Dezaron-
Quote:
Don't remind me about Shockley.. I still can't believe he didn't have a pro career. That kid could flat out play.. Because this game effects me more now, is why I believe it is the worse, however we did play well in the 1st half here, where in 2005 we were down 38-0 before we even scored. So you are probably right 2005 is still the worse.
Prater-
Quote:
Coach where do you go from here. Patti looked good in his 1 series in the 4th. Will he get more reps this week? Also what's up with Ajayi will he be good to go in Week 3 vs Air Force.
Dezaron-
Quote:
Southwick is still my/our guy. We are excited for what we saw out of Nick, and if something was to happen to Joe, he is probably our long term answer, however Grant Hedrick will see the field more as we want to take advantage of his running abilities. As far as Ajayi goes, it was a thigh bruise. He could've come back in the 4th Q, but we were already down 31-7 so we figured better to rest it and let Jack get some carries.
Caves-
Quote:
Coach BSU has struggled with the Triple Option of Air Force in the past. After giving up 52 points this week to Washington, will the "Offense" need to score 40+ for you guys to be able win ball games?
Dezaron-
Quote:
I hope not Jeff. I mean yeah we would love to lead the nation in scoring and be a high scoring attack, but we also need our "D" to step up and stop guy's too. I know Coach Pete and Coach K will have something ready to go by Week 3.
Prater-
Quote:
Well that's all the time we have for you today.. Thanks for joining us on Idaho Sports Talk Radio. I am Mike Prater and my cohost is Jeff Caves. Today's guest was Ryne Dezaron the new Offensive Coordinator at Boise State, talking about the butt kicking they just got at the hands of the Washington Huskies.

Re: "I Bleed Blue" (A Boise State NCAA14 Dynasty)

Okay so after that performance, I really am struggling with not controlling all aspects of the game. There was 2 times I wanted to go for it on 4th down, but the CPU doesn't give you that option. Once we tried and failed the FG, and another time it was 4th and 3 but in the 3rd Quarter.

Also for me to get the Offense flowing, I need some Defensive stops. Is there a way for me to take over as the head coach mid-season? I don't see where it gives you the option of making a new coach.
