I roamed around the school after the after school bell had rang and walked into the senior class section of Belltown High. This school was big as hell but everybody knew my name by now...
I saw Corey Higgins who lived a couple houses down from me.

"What's up Corey." I said as I started the conversation.

Corey stopped and responded "The freshman! What's up bro?"

"Man nothin this school bout wack as hell. These teachers already given stacks of homework."

Corey laughed, "Yo tell me about it. It gets easier though trust me. They just tryna make a statement early."

"Oh I guess. Why didn't you try out for football?" I asked in curiosity.

Corey scratched his head, "You late, I stopped playing football like in 7th grade because my ankle was tweaking every game."

"Oh damn. I'm bout to kill this year on JV though. On everything."

"Ehh good luck with that. You know Cody Dean right?" Corey said with noticeable doubt on his face.

"Uhh I think I just saw him in the gym. I don't know him though. Why?"

"He's already looks like a capable college athlete. He like 6'1" and 200 pounds already AND he's quick." Corey ranted. "Your best bet is to become buddy buddy with coach or you're gonna really have to battle with him to get PT. But aye listen I gotta go. Good luck with the team."

Now after hearing this I still wasn't worried about anything. I'm overloaded with confidence and I wasn't gonna let this guy get in the way.

I headed out to the field. Coach told us to be there by 4:30 even though the game started at 6:00.

Eury: They both strong as hell though
Marcus: No doubt. Yo why ain't you try out for the team
Eury: you kidding? My skinny *** would get murdered out there
Marcus: You outweigh Kendrick by like 20 pounds
Eury: You don't want me stealing your spot do you?
Marcus: Haha real funny. Where you going anyways
Eury: I'm going to get me some new Js. New season,new kicks
Marcus: Alright well see you later bro

Exclusive Access - Omari Kane

Omari Kane after school...

Well today was a slow day. Got all my work in though so as long as that's done then I'm good. We played our season debut at home against Cass Tech. I'm not going to lie, I wasn't looking forward to playing this evening because I would rather go home and play 2k14 or something.

I walked over to Amaya's who was at her locker, me an her had been dating since 8th grade.

"Hey Amaya, you coming to our game today right?"

"Yeah of course!" She said with a smile. "I'm coming to all your games and your gonna get a touchdown for me in each one right?"

I gave out a fake laugh "I would but I play defense not offense."

"Ohh haha. Oh well. I gotta get going the buses are about to leave."

"Alright I love you."

"Love you to!" She said as she started walking away.

I walked out to the field only to see coach in no sight along with my brother Kendrick surrounded by some of our teammates. Without anything else to do I went over and sat alongside the group.
I was surprised to see my little cousin Trent from Indiana in the crowd as well.

I hopped in the conversation and said "Trent what are you doing here?"

"My mom dropped me off here because she is going to great grandmas house so she'll pick me up after that." He replied.

"Cool." I then turned to the group, "You guy realize coach hasn't really even discussed our field presence and stuff? We don't really even know our starters."

Kendrick looked over at me and said "Well I know you're on the bench."

"Coach already said I'm starting" said Anthony.

I stale faced Kendrick, "I guess coach is going to discuss all this when he gets here."

*Cody is going through pregame drills with other HBs as the other team stares wondering how a jv olayer could be so big and fast.

Varsity Freshman HB San McGigabobber talking to fellow Freshman receiver Ryan Hermasillo at the JV Game.

PA Announcer: As all you fans knows, there is no freshman team this year. So, now let's get back to the game.
S: Has Coach released the varsity roster yet?
R: No, but he told us we made it. Have you see our JV HB Cody Dean? He is a freak of nature.
S: He really is. I'm surprised he didn't make Varsity.
PA Guy: And Nick Orkedi hits Cody Dean in the back of the endzonr for a TOUCHDOWN!! 24-3 Belltown over Cass Tech!
R: Wow, JV is destroying Cass Tech. You wanna head to the concession stand. I gotta call my girlfriend.
S: Sure let's go.

Later, 30 seconds left in the game. Belltown is up, 38-3 over Cass Tech, and they have the ball.

PA: And Michael Anthony hands off to Kendrick Kane for a gain of 3. That should do it. Belltown wins 38-3. Remember, the varsity game is at Rynearson Stadium in Ypsilanti, Michigan. Good Night.
J: Wow, JV took care of business.
S: Yeah, but we are gonna get whooped. They are about to read out the stats.
