Offseason- Stage 4(Scouting Preview) Draft Picks(Steelers) 1(6) 2(30) 3(28) 4(30) 5(30) 6(30) 7(30) Positions To Focus On
Spoiler
QB- Big Ben is going to be gone soon, and I should have some sort of back of plan for that. Landry Jones was traded out to move us the the 6th pick in the Draft so I need a back up QB. Will scout some QB's in the later rounds to look for a player I can eventually start or can be traded away. WR- Will only look at a few WR's. We are already set when it comes to WR with Brown, Sanders and now Wheaton but if the next Jerry Rice comes through, I'll take him. OT- Mike Adam's isn't the long term solution to our LT spot and Free Agency didn't provide any options that impressed me much, so I will look at the draft to see if we can find a player that can make a difference. G/C- Ramon Foster also ins't a longer term solution so the draft is going to be helpful. DE- With Arthur Jones coming into the team, I feel we have sufficient competition to force our players to play to their best of their ability. BUT if I fall in love with a DE like Laterrius Miranda, whose projected as the 6th best player overall, I may end up trading Heyward who has 1 year left in his contract. LB- I currently have a gap in my LB core. With Foote gone, I need a MLB to start next to Timmons and another to back up the position. CB- Ike Taylor's contract is expiring next year and he's getting old. Both are reasons to look a bit at CB. SS/FS- Ryan Clark has retired but Shamarko Thomas has shown enough ability to be a solid starter in his spot. This leaves us needing a Back up safety. Also, Polamalu's contract is up next year....and he's old. KR- With Leon Washington gone, the only returner on the team is Antonio Brown who I don't wanna risk in those duties. Hence, will keep an eye for a return man. |

Offseason- Stage 4(Scouting Offense) Draft Picks(Steelers) 1(6) 2(30) 3(28) 4(30) 5(30) 6(30) 7(30) Points-66,150 Discount-Offensive Overall Note-Order is based on the probability of me drafting them. It is based on the players talent, draft position, and how much I like his ability distribution. QB
Spoiler
Players Chosen To Scout JaQuay White, Syracuse- 1(10) Marty Baldridge, Louisville- 1(11) Aleon Reese, Central Michigan- 4(23) Derek Chavis, Maryland- 5(4) JaQuay White
Spoiler
Age-21 WT- 219 HT- 6'1" Throw Power-A Awareness-A Throw Accuracy-A Throw Short- B Throw Mid- B Throw Long- C Play Action- C Throw on Run-B Speed- B Personality- A I'm really impressed with JaQuay White. He seems to have all the abilities of a starting QB right now which makes me want to draft him. I still need to see all the other players AND what I could potentially get for Big Ben if I see it as a possibility. Has top 5 pick ability in my opinion. Marty Badridge
Spoiler
Age-22 WT- 241 HT- 6'5" Throw Power-A Awareness-C Throw Accuracy-D Throw Short- C Throw Mid- C Throw Long- C Play Action- N/A Throw on Run-N/A Speed- N/A Personality- N/A Marty has great size and throw power, but his overall accuracy was just to low for me. I want to play efficient error free football on offense and Baldridge doesn't fit into that. Aleon Reese
Spoiler
Age-21 WT- 231 HT- 6'2" Throw Power-A Awareness-C Throw Accuracy-B Throw Short- A Throw Mid- A Throw Long- A Play Action- A Throw on Run-C Speed- C Personality- C Another player that impressed me a lot, more than White. His accuracy is top notch and honestly, I think I will draft him and see what to do with Big Ben afterwards since he is only a 4th round pick. Or, I could look to see what pick I could get for Ben now if I commit to drafting Reece. A top 5 pick in terms of talent to me, will be the steal of the draft. Order
Spoiler
Since I am strongly for trading Ben Roethlisberger for one of Reese and White, I need to be absolutley sure I get the right one. Reese, as of right now, has the advantage. I continued scouting them just to be sure. White is green, Reese is Red DEVELOPMENT- Star Avg SCHEME- Vertical Offense Spread INJURY- A B PLAYER TYPE- Mobile Pocket Passer Injury- 95 85 This is honestly a tough decision. But the separation was in Development. JaQuay White will be the better QB long term, while Reese will be the greater QB in his first couple of seasons. This is my firm belief because White will stay on the field longer, and get more XP when he is on the field. BUT, I may draft both just in case, and trade the lesser of the two during preseason to get a 1st rounder next season. WR
Spoiler
Players Chosen To Scout Gage Ashley, Oregon State- 1(5) Trenton Chisholm, Missouri- 1(22) Trevor Smelter, Austin Peay- 2(13) Daniel Lewis, Miami- 2(18) Michael Thomas, Miami- 3(17) Gage Ashley

Spoiler
Age-23 WT- 206 HT- 6'4" Speed-B Catching-A CIT-B Spec Catch-C Release-C Rte Running- B Awareness- C Jumping- B Acceleration- B He may be large and a great catcher, but I don't rate him highly enough to take him in the first round. Maybe a 2ne round pick. Trevor Smelter
Spoiler
Age-21 WT- 214 HT- 6'4" Speed-B Catching-B CIT-B Spec Catch-C Release-C Rte Running- B Awareness- C Jumping- B Basically just like Chisholm, except worse catching. This means he's a 2nd-3rd round talent for me. Daniel Lewis
Spoiler
Age-21 WT- 234 HT- 6'4" Speed-B Catching-A CIT-A Spec Catch-A Release-C Rte Running- B Awareness- C Jumping- A He's impressive. Like really impressive, its hard to find a player of that height and with so much raw ability. Right now, he's my top WR but I need to see if he's worth drafting(Meaning should I trade Wheaton to make him the 3rd WR). 1st-2nd round talent I believe. Michael Thomas
Spoiler
Age-23 WT- 206 HT- 6'3" Speed-B Catching-B CIT-B Spec Catch-C Release-C Rte Running- C Awareness- C Jumping- B Thomas is actually a Smelter clone, who is a bit worse at route running. He's a late 3rd round talent, more like 4th round. Order
Spoiler
Only Daniel Thomas [2(18)] is draftable to me, could possibly take him late 1st/early second. OT
Spoiler
Players Chosen To Scout Lequinton McKinnon, Arkansas- 1(4) Gifford Bounds, Auburn- 1(14) Isaiah Meyes, California- 2(10) Howard Longino, Florida State- 2(23) Orlan Acab, Bridgewater St.- 2(32) Chris Tobler, S. Spoiler
Age-20 WT- 313 HT- 6'4" Pass Block-C Run Block- A Strength-B Impact Block-B Awareness-B Agility-C Seems to be a pretty good player to draft, but not sure about drafting him as a top 10 pick. Will probably come back to him and measure his development if I can't find another player for my 6th overall pick. As of now, he looks like a early second round pick. Gifford Bounds(RT)
Spoiler
Age-20 WT- 306 HT- 6'4" Pass Block-C Run Block- D Strength-N/A Impact Block-N/A Awareness-N/A Agility-N/A His first two stats are too low, meaning I can't use a top-15 pick on him. Isaiah Meyes(LT)
Spoiler
Age-23 WT- 333 HT- 6'2" Pass Block-A Run Block- B Strength-C Impact Block-B Awareness-C Agility-B I honestly like Meyes a lot, especially his elite Pass Blocking. Will have to look into him more, but as of right now he's my top rated tackle. Mid-late 1st round talent. Howard Longino(LT)
Spoiler
Age-20 WT- 290 HT- 6'3" Pass Block-C Run Block- B Strength-C Impact Block-B Awareness-C Agility-B Longino is exactly the same as Meyes, except he has average Pass Blocking instead of elite. This is a big difference and means that Longino is the 3rd tackle on our list currently after Meyes and McKinnon. 2nd-3rd round talent. Orlan Acab(RT)
Spoiler
Age-23 WT- 313 HT- 6'2" Pass Block-D Run Block- B Strength-B Impact Block-C Awareness-B Agility-C Orlan Acab is a good tackle when it comes to Run Blocking, but thats not what were looking for. At this point, the chances of me finding an elite OT in this draft are looking pretty bad. Orlan Acab is looking like a 4th round pick for me. Chris Tobler(RT)
Spoiler
Age-20 WT- 332 HT-6'3" Pass Block- D Run Block- C Strength-N/A Impact Block- N/A Awreness- N/A Agility- N/A He doesn't have the technique to be a play maker for us, so we won't draft him. Rich Belsky(LT)
Spoiler
Age-20 WT- 331 HT- 6'7" Pass Block-C Run Block- C Strength-B Impact Block-D Awareness-C Agility-N/A He has optimal size but other than that, I don't see much in him. Quandre Northe(LT)
Spoiler
Age-23 WT- 313 HT- 6'7" Pass Block-C Run Block- C Strength-C Impact Block-C Awareness-C Agility-C The good thing about Northe is that he has amazing size and that he is very diverse. The bad thing, is that he has a lack of talent. Northe is basically average at everything. This may not be a terrible thing, but he can only be looked at as a potential back up. Wayne McCall(LT)
Spoiler
Age-23 WT- 324 HT- 6'6" Pass Block-C Run Block- C Strength-C Impact Block-C Awareness-C Agility-C The exact same as Northe, just available a round later. Risean Kimble(RT)

Players Chosen To Scout Theo Vereen, Pittsburgh-1(21) Craig Hankins, Memphis-1(27) Ali Spencer, Memphis-1(29) Dillion Wesley, Pittsburgh -2(24) Javian Corvinton, Auburn- 2(26) Torian Coble, Rutgers- 2(27) Tony Martinez, Colorado St.- 2(28) Dakota Roth, Tennessee- 3(5) Eduardo Busby, Boise State- 3(27) Davasia Means, Illinois- 4(1) Darrion Frazier, UAB- 4(13) Lorell Culliver, Tenn. Tech- 5(10) Edgar Lynn, Northern State- 5(19) Taylor Herrera, Beloit College- 7(7) Deshun Baker, Cincinnati- 7(25) Theo Vereen(LG)
Spoiler
Age-22 WT- 297 HT- 6'7" Pass Block-C Run Block- B Strength-B Impact Block-B Awareness-B Agility-D Theo is a decent prospect but not sure if I would use a 1st round pick on him. I think an interior lineman has to be truly talented to be selected in the first, but I don't see that from Vereen. 2nd round talent for me. Craig Hankins(RG)
Spoiler
Age-21 WT- 327 HT- 6'4" Pass Block-C(71) Run Block- B Strength-B Impact Block-B Awareness-B Agility-C Seems better than Vereen just based on his agility. I accidentally further checked his Pass Block, which showed something that is disappointing. Would have considered him a late first round pick/early second if it weren't for that. Now he's a mid/late second in my eyes. Ali Spencer(C)
Spoiler
Age-22 WT- 293 HT- 6'4" Pass Block-B Run Block- B Strength-C Impact Block-C Awareness-B Agility-B I liked Spencer until I saw his Strength. Right now, he may be my top rated G/C but not by much since that Strength will be hard to improve. Dillion Wesley(LG)
Spoiler
Age-21 WT- 313 HT- 6'3" Pass Block-C Run Block- B Strength-B Impact Block-B Awareness-C Agility-C Dillion is similar to the other 3 in ability, and available 1 round later. As a value pick, he is the top one out of the four. With no homerun option available, I can only look for value. Javian Corvington(C)
Spoiler
Age-22 WT- 338 HT- 6'3" Pass Block-C Run Block- A Strength-B Impact Block-A Awareness-D Agility-C Javian Corvington is an elite run-blocker. That is good enough for me and will place him at the top of my G/C list at the moment. He lacks Awareness and a bit of Pass Blocking skills, but that can be easily taught in 1-2 years if I focus on it. I see him as a mid first-early second pick, giving him value at his current projected 2(26). Torian Coble(LG)
Spoiler
Age-22 WT- 314 HT- 6'2" Pass Block-D Run Block- B Strength-B Impact Block-C Awareness-B Agility-C His Pass Blocking is fairly poor, but everywhere else he seems at about the same level as these other players I've scouted out. This mean's that he doesn't stand out in a good way at all, with his only separation from the pack at Pass Blocking. Tony Martinez(RG)
Spoiler
Age-23 WT- 339 HT- 6'5" Pass Block-B Run Block- C Strength-B Impact Block-A Awareness-C Agility-C Tony Martinez has shown himself to be the second best G/C at this point, behind only Corvington. Where most of these players have focused on Run Blocking, Martinez instead has greater Pass Blocking technique. His Impact Blocking is also elite, the only one other than Corvington to posses that, and he seems to be a potential draftee. Dakota Roth(LG)
Spoiler
Age-21 WT- 315 HT- 6'7" Pass Block-B Run Block- B Strength-B Impact Block-C Awareness-C Agility-C Dakota Roth is another good player. His size is great but what impressed most about him is his ability to be solid in both Run and Pass Blocking. He's third on the list, just under Martinez. Eduardo Busby(RG)
Spoiler
Age-23 WT- 330 HT- 6'7" Pass Block-B Run Block- C Strength-B Impact Block-A Awareness-C Agility-C The exact same type of player as Martinez, except larger and available a round later. This pushes Busby up to second best in G/C list. Davasia Means(RG)
Spoiler
Age-23 WT- 334 HT- 6'6" Pass Block-C Run Block- B Strength-C Impact Block-B Awareness-C Agility-C Means doesn't stand out in anyway from the other players scouted. He's also only 5 picks behind the second best G/C at this point, meaning its not worth it to go for him. Darrion Frazier(C)
Spoiler
Age-20 WT- 306 HT- 6'7" Pass Block-C Run Block- B Strength-B Impact Block-B Awareness-D Agility-B Darrion Frazier honestly isn't a bad prospect. His Awareness and Pass Blocking are low, but other than that, he is solid every where else. As a projected 4th rounder, it may be good value to pick him up. 4th best pick at this point. Lorell Culliver(RG)
Spoiler
Age-23 WT- 332 HT- 6'5" Pass Block-C Run Block- C Strength-B Impact Block-D Awareness-N/A Agility-N/A Fails to impress in talent. Edgar Lynn(LG)
Spoiler
Age-23 WT- 327 HT- 6'7" Pass Block-C Run Block- B Strength-B Impact Block-C Awareness-D Agility-D Honestly not worth drafting, his ability doesn't provide enough value at his draft position. Taylor Herrera(LG)
Spoiler
Age-20 WT- 314 HT- 6'6" Pass Block-C Run Block- D Strength-C Impact Block-C Awareness-N/A Agility-N/A Not enough talent. Deshun Baker(RG)
Spoiler
Age-22 WT- 332 HT- 6'6" Pass Block-C Run Block- C Strength-C Impact Block-C Awareness-D Agility-C Could be an interesting 7th round pick, but otherwise he lacks talent. Order

Ladies and Gentleman, it is with great surprise that I bring to you the following trade. The Pittsburgh Steelers have announced the sale of QB Ben Roethlisberger, their 1st round draft pick next year, and their 5th round pick this year(30th in the round) to the St. Louis Rams. In exchange, they will receive the 1st overall pick as well as the 8th overall pick of the upcoming draft. The Pittsburg players have been asked to not comment on the matter, and it seems they are listening as none have replied to our enquiries. This move means the Steelers plan to draft a QB with one of their picks in May. Notable Signings

Re: Face Of A Franchise
2014 NFL Draft Day 1 Before Draft Trades Hello and welcome to the 2013 NFL Draft. I'm from ESPN News and I will be here to provide commentary here on Day 1. Before we start folks, I wish to announce a few last minute trades that materialized right before the deadline. Interesting, they both include the Rams. The Pittsburgh Steelers have announced that they will trade the 1st overall pick, the one they received in what is now known as the Big Ben Trade, to the Oakland Raiders along with the 222 overall pick. In exchange, they received 3 very high draft picks. The first is the fourth overall pick in this same draft, while the second is the 36th overall pick in this draft as well. The 3rd pick is the 2nd round pick the Raiders have for next years draft. Steelers Picks 1(4) 1(6) 1(8) 2(4) 2(30) 3(28) 4(30) 6(30) NFL Draft..Starts Now With the 1st pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, the Oakland Raiders select...
Spoiler
Ladarious Seastrunk(6'1, 281) DT, Troy
Well, the 1st pick also brings the 1st surprise. Most believed that the Raiders would go for a QB with their first pick, most likely Craig McEwen but they have gone for defense. They must have saw something they liked Matt Flynn last year since they are concentrating on boosting the Defense with the likes of FA Tim Jennings as well as Seastrunk. With the 2nd pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, the New York Jets select...
Spoiler
Craig McEwen(6'1, 225) QB, South Carolina
This was an obvious pick. Geno Smith, although he came into the draft highly rated, was horrible. He ended the season with single digit Touchdowns and the 28th highest QBR in the league. In Craig McEwen they have a chance to move on from the Circus that was the Rex Ryan era, and rebuild around the solid defense. With the 3rd pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, the Miami Dolphins select...
Spoiler
Lequinton McKinnon(6'4, 313) LT, Arkansas
Miami may have one of the worst O-Lines in the NFL. They allowed the 6th most sacks in the NFL this past season when Jake Long left. Enter McKinnion. Mckinnon is the highest rated offensive tackle in this draft by some distance and is rated by some to be a player who can immediately improve the protection. He is already an elite run blocker so he will have to improve his pass blocking to help Tannehill out. With the 4th pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, the Pittsburgh Steelers select...
Spoiler
Montrae Conley(6'3, 249) LOLB, Vanderbilt
Montrae Conley is officially the highest drafted Vanderbilt player in the history of the team. He beats out the 8th pick in the 1984 draft, Leonard Coleman and Jay Cutler, who was the 11th pick in the 2006 draft. From a size point of view, Conley is the greatest LB in the draft. He was described as a larger version of Colts legend Robert Mathis, which only means good things for this Pittsburgh team. Expect their defense to be even better next year as Conley potentially replaces Larry Foote. With the 5th pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, the Cinncinatti Bengals select..
Spoiler
Alan Petteway(5'8, 198) HB, Nebraska
An extremely surprising pick, the Bengals have selected Alan Petteway a year after making Giovani Bernard the top RB pick in the 2012 draft. Bernard only had 5 rushes the entire season which shows the lack of trust the team has in the player. This means they will replace the Law Firm with Petteway and probably try to trade Bernard. With the 6th pick in the 2013 NFL draft, the Pittsburgh Steelers select...
Spoiler
JaQuay White(6'1, 219) QB, Syracuse
A very interesting but needed draft pick. JaQuay White seems to be the player who will take over the Starting QB position from the recently traded Ben Roethlisberger. It is an interesting move because of the large difference in the playing style of both players. Where Ben was somewhere between a game manager and a pocket passer, White is a bit more of a mobile QB who can make plays with his feet as well as his arms. He has always highly rated since coming out of high school, but inconsistency has played a part in his college career. The Cleveland Browns have traded the 7th pick to the Chargers. With the 7th pick in the 2013 NFL draft, the San Diego Chargers select...
Spoiler
Jeffery Maramarosa(6'0, 201) SS, Florida State
Seems like the Browns were after QB JaQuay White, and so have traded out of the 7th overall pick. In exchange they received the 21st overall pick this year as well as the Chargers 1st round pick next year. It seems that, with this pick, the Chargers wish to create the strongest safety duo in the NFL. With Eric Weddle, arguably the best FS, they add the highest rated Safety since Mark Barron 2 years ago. Could be a great pick. The Pittsburgh Steelers have traded the 8th pick to the Titans. With the 8th pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, the Tennessee Titans select...
Spoiler
Darone McCreary(6'0, 186) CB, Floria
After already picking twice in the top 6, the Steelers traded the 8th pick to the Titans in exchange for the 22nd overall pick as well as the 54th overall pick in the draft. The Titans selected CB Darone McCreary, a Man to Man type defensive back, to pair up with Jason McCourty. This makes sense since their greatest division rivals are the Colts who are led by a certain QB by the name of Andrew Luck. With the 9th pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, the Dallas Cowboys select...
Spoiler
Sheldon Camelo(6'2 294) DT, Michigan St.
With Jay Ratliff reaching 33 years of age, the Cowboys must thing it's time to move on. Most assumed they would trade up for a QB to replace the retired Romo, but it can be said that Jerry belivies in using his gut more than football logic. I'm one of those that disagrees with Jerry being involved in the team(ie Travis Frederick) but who knows. The Jacksonville Jaguars have traded the 10th pick to the 49ers. With the 10th pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, the San Francisco 49ers select...
Spoiler
Gage Ashley(6'4 213) WR, Oregon State
The 49ers, who have a poor recent history of drafting WR's in the first round, have tried it again with the highest rated WR Gage Ashley. Gage has great size and, as a balanced WR, he can do what he is needed to. If he manages to take away focus from Crabtree, he will be worth the 28th and 60th overall draft picks used to trade up. With the 11th pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, the Detroit Lions select..
